I found this through a link on sf_drama on Livejournal and as weird conspiracies about Pokemon and Satanism go... it doesn't get much weirder than this.

http://www.cornswalled.com/2007/03/true-history-of-pokemon.html

Some highlights...

1735 to 1900 - The Cult of Pokos experiences halting spurts of growth. By the mid 1800s, most of the Japan's intellectual and social upper tiers practice a hybrid form of Pokos/Emperor worship, where the Emperor is seen as a final arbitrator of all battles, and is even granted the ability to alter the lesser god's powers. This hybrid religion is believed to have died out after World War Two, while the Cult of Pokos continues to this day.

In the years to come, these Burger King Pokemon Sharks will replace the Topps cards with a deck of gambling cards. They will discard the Pepsi for Martinis and replace the Burger King grill smoke with the cigarette smoke from the thousand wasted lives that will surround them. Thank you Burger King. I am so grateful for this Card Shark Gaming room that I will be taking all my business to McDonnald's. I encourage all parents and civic minded citizens to similarly ban Burger King for their efforts in destroying the moral fiber of America's Youth.

In the larger scheme of things, Pokemon is actually a small portion of this New World Order. Look back at this article. What do you see? Pokemon uses imagery and ideas from a 3,000 pagan religion to teach america's youth to gamble, be greedy and loose contact with reality. It replaces everyday interaction with a surreal world of fanciful characters with magical powers. It is weakening the minds of America's youth, draining away time that would otherwise be spent in activities like football, baseball or Bible Study.

This is more of a combination fundie Christian/tinfoil hat conspiracy nut thing.

This guy also thinks Linux is a socialist conspiracy and vaccines are made with liquified fetuses.

Oh. my. Arceus. Does this species of human actually still exist? I'm going to read through and jsut right my random thoughts on it.

What, it's not an abbreviation of pocket monsters?
Wait, is this guy tracing the origin of pokemon to ANCIENT ROME?
This is starting to turn into a bad pikachu fan fic
I must admit that there is only one source that makes this claim, and therefore must be taken as unsubstantiated.
Really? And the rest isn't?

Oh boy, does this ever end?

On the "magic" card game thing, how many other games follow this formula? Seriously? Seems to me like a lot.

Oh. my. Starclan. What... an alliance with burger king for gambling... I cannot stop laughing.

I can't continue. I'm sorry. I haven't laughed like this since Jeff's end of the world joke.

Look at the rest of his blog. He is deadly serious, to the point where Google tried to shut him down.

Well, based upon the comments it's not exactly easy to weed this maniac out, sadly. And, unfortunately, I can't blame them.

I'm an actual Christian, so I can't be Catholic, as they're Pagans pretending to be Christian.

As much as I'd love to see it, I don't think anyone here can begin to describe how much of an idiot this guy is.

So I left the guy a very long, two post comment. Had fun with it too. My favorite part was:
Now, I would first like to ask if you have ever played Pokemon. Forget the TV show because I'll cover that later. Have you ever played a pokemon game? If not, then you have no right to bash pokemon. I refuse to listen to someone argue against something they themselves have not experienced. It's the same mindset I use against haters of Harry Potter.

I wonder if I'll get a response.

*headdesk*

This guy is...pathetic. He goes through all that research just to try and show how Pokemon is evil and trying to corrupt us. This was just plain sad.

I sent him an e-mail asking him to read my post. I think I worded it well, just to make it seem like my post was positive and I agreed with him. I can't wait to read his response.

I'm not sure what is worse, the fact that he took the time to find all that "information"(although I have a suspicion that he made some of it up), or that he actually believes it? Why must people go so far out of their way to prove that something that someone else likes is wrong or evil? Can’t we just accept that we have different tastes? What did pokemon ever do to him? I think he just has a misunderstanding of the series.

Oh well, the more I think about this the more upset I get. I’m off to sacrifice some squirrels to calm myself down.

"Essentially, China and Japan are the ideological center of a movement towards a one-world government."

...really. China and Japan are the ones forcing other countries to bow to their will with the supranational UN and their own might? Must've missed that when it happened...

I honestly... can't say anything. It's retarded.

I am laughing my a** off. I laugh and ridicule your incompetence you crazy fool.

By the way, the word "Anonymous" is a combination of thirteen English words: This-guy-has-nothing-better-to-do-than-blog-about-his-imaginary-cults?

You do realize that you researching and studying the practice of cults, satanism, and necromancy, and at the same time claiming you're a true-blue Christian? Uh-uh.

In other words:

Something's wrong with that noggin of yours.

His melon may just be a little too ripe. And if that blog post was NOT a joke, his heart is an apple with one bite missing.

*headdesk* There are still people who think pokemon is satanic? I thought they'd stop ranting about it after they realized it was them against the second most popular video game based franchize(I know I spelt it wrong) in the entire world. Apparently I was wrong. I'm not even goona waste my time reading it. I think I'll post a comment.

Ha ha ha, I doubt I will XD

I just gave him this.

He definetly is. Also, can you put images in comments? I want to put a sprite of noctowl in the comment. Guess why.

...srsly? This is so strange, that people would go out and compare a child's game to a cult. He must be bored, or obsessive.

I was going to photoshop his post in a psyduck from that pokedads thread (and send it to him), but yeah, not even psyduck is this stupid.

This kind of people that are so GOD DISLIEKS THIS UR GOIN TO HEL make me angry becouse they have no idea what are they talking about.

Best of all: he hasn't played the games so he doesn't even have first-hand experience to talk about this.
