Ugh, I'll post an intro later, as it's too late. Enjoy for now.

Chapter 1: A Case of the Mondays

“GOOOOOOOOOOOOD MORNING! The time is 6 AM so rise and shine, it’s time for another work week!”

“Hope none of you get a case of the Modays!”

“Well, I know one person who’s not gonna have a case of the Mondays!”

“And who’s that?”

“Brock! Apparently, he was found passed out in some bushes this morning!”

“Wow, just wow!”

“Life’s just a big old party for him, and not even Monday can stop it!”

“Well, it’s not like he’s getting any though!”

“Right you are pal!”

The two DJs Ned and Ted waked Bob up, as they did everyday. He listened to their banter for a few moments, as he did everyday. Finally, Bob slowly got out of bed. There was nothing spectacular about Bob; he had short brown hair and brown eyes. For Bob it was just going to be another boring day at work.

“So anyway, get a load of this, last night, as we all know, were the finals of the Hoenn Tournament.” Bob listened as he brushed his teeth.

“So who won this thing?”

“Well, get this! There was a power outage…”

“Power outage?” Bob now moved on to change into his work clothes, which consisted of a plain white shirt and plain brown pants.

“Power outage! And get this! Because of this power outage, the finals were postponed until an undetermined night!”

“Wow, just wow!” Bob put on his plain black tie and turned the radio off. He then eyed his Skitty roaming around in his room. Skitty was a bright white and pink feline Pokemon with a long pink tail.

“Hey Skitty! Good morning! How are you?”

“Skitty!” exclaimed Skitty.

“Aw!” Bob bent down and picked his Skitty up. He rubbed its head as Skitty let out cries of joy. “You see Meowth and Glameow yet?”

“Skit skit,” said Skitty.

“Oh well, they know where the food is. I must be going now Skitty!”

“Skitty!” Skitty said farewell as Bob waved to it and ran out of the house. He hopped into his plain gray car and drove off to work.

Bob lived in the suburbs of Saffron City. Saffron City was the largest city in the Kanto region, and for a good reason too. Silph Company’s corporate headquarters was located there. Bob had a job there, working as a designer for various products.

Bob ran into Silph Headquarters only to be greeted by the secretary. “Mr. Silph wanted to see you,” she noted duly.

“Well tell him I’m much too busy. I have to finish working out the kinks on that battle simulator. It ships in three months!” Bob complained.

“You tell him. You never know if there may be an important call that I must answer.”

“But if I tell him it’d defeat the whole purpose of me not seeing him, as he’d be seeing him!” Bob groaned.

“You obviously have a case of the Mondays,” the secretary pointed out.

“Ugh!” Bob walked off in defeat to his small cubicle on one of the higher floors. Mr. Silph himself was there to greet him. Mr. Silph was a tall man. He had very thick glasses and wore a bowtie with his black tuxedo. His black hair was poorly combed over, and he had pimples in various places on his face.

“Hey Bob, what’s happening?” asked Mr. Silph.

“Nothing much. It’s just that I really have to work on this simulator, as…”

“Greaaaat,” said Silph. “Mm, but listen here now, if you could go ahead and fix these updated Master Ball schematics you gave me last week, that’d be great. And I’m going to need you to create a new program for the Upgrade, to keep our company hi-tech, k’?”

“Well, you see Mr. Silph…” Bob went on.

“So you’ll do it? Greaaaat. I’ll expect everything on my desk tomorrow.”

“But sir…”

“Remember Bob, keep it happening!” As Silph walked off, Bob banged his fist on his desk in frustration.

“Screw Silph, I need to work on that damn simulator!” Bob cursed.

“Now now, that may not be a good idea. Remember, there’s going to be downsizing soon. And your work isn’t the best now, is it? Stacey, one of the other people who worked on Bob’s floor, was standing inside the entrance to Bob’s cubicle. Stacey was wearing a white shirt with black pants, and looked at him with her brown eyes that stared from behind her small glasses. She moved her long black hair out of her face.

“Casey, why are you here?” asked Bob. “Can’t you see Silph is giving me enough trouble?”

“First off, my name is STACEY. Second off, I need an update on the battle simulator project.”

“I’m working on it,” groaned Bob.

“Bob, this thing is set to ship in three moths! If it’s delayed Mr. Silph is going to have all our heads on a platter! What’s taking you so long?”

“Silph keeps piling project upon project on me! It’s just too much!” complained Bob.

“Well, I don’t care what Mr. Silph is making you do!” growled Stacey. “The simulator is your first priority. Work out all the bugs soon, or else we’ll all be living in some box on the side of the road!”

“I heard that there’s prime real estate on sides of roads these days,” Bob joked.

“This is no time to be joking! You obviously have a case of the Mondays!” Stacey walked off in frustration.

“I do not!” Bob shouted at her.

“Oh, of course you do silly!”

“Oh, hi Johnny. You overheard that conversation, I guess?” Bob was talking to the man that used the cubicle next to him.

“Yes, I was. Very interesting! But in all seriousness though, you should finish up that battle simulator. There will be a super duper big mess if you don’t, you know!” Johnny said cheerily.

“Trust me, I know,” groaned Bob.

“Attention!” Silph was yelling to everyone from his office. “Attention everyone! Mm, tomorrow is… uh… casual Tuesday! Feel free to go ahead and wear you favorite T-shirt and jeans. That’d be great, k’? Remember guys, keep it happening!” Silph disappeared back into his office.

“Johnny, you hear that, casual Tuesday is, well… tomorrow,” Bob said.

“Isn’t that great? We have something to look forward to! It’ll help us get through Monday!” exclaimed Johnny.

“Meh. I don’t think it’ll help that much. If we had humongous raise Tuesday, though…”

“Oh, don’t be silly Bobby! You just obviously have a case of the Mondays!” scolded Johnny.

“Oh if I had a dollar for every time I heard…”

“Case of the Mooooooondays!” sang Johnny.

Bob worked on the battle simulator until lunch, when he decided to go the break room and eat his sandwich. Unfortunately for Bob, Silph had found it an opportune time to eat lunch too.

“Hey Bob, what’s happening! You can just go ahead and sit right next to me, k’?”

“Er… sure.” Bob was afraid to turn down Silph on his offer.

“Mm, so Bob, how’s work going on those… uh… schematics and programs?” Silph asked.

“Well, actually, I was working on that battle simulator…”

“And why’s that Bob? You really should just go ahead and work on those schematics and programs.”

“Well, you see, the simulator is due to ship in three months, and Stacey came by and told me that if I didn’t finish it in time, I’d get fired,” explained Bob.

“Bob, you’re an unmarried man, right?” Silph questioned.

“Well, yes, yes I am,” answered Bob.

“Mm, the… uh… problem here seems to be that you have a crush on… uh… Stacey. You seem to be taking orders from her, not from me.”

“I don’t want to be fired though,” replied Bob.

“Greaaaat. Then all I require of you is that you do what I tell you to do, not what that stupid girl tells you to do.”

“But she said I’d be…”

“Mm, Bob, trust me, I like to keep those that listen to me around. However… uh… those that… uh… mini-manage my company, I’d like to just go ahead and fire them. So just do as I tell you to and everything will be great. K’?” asked Silph.

“Sure,” answered Bob.

“Greaaaat. Now if you’ll excuse me, since I have finished enjoying my lunch, I must be off to work some more. Keep it happening Bob!” Silph got up and left, leaving Bob to finish eating alone.

When Bob got back to his cubicle, he faced an unpleasant surprise. Stacey was there, waiting for him. “How’s the progress coming on that battle simulator?”

“Well, I just had a chat with Silph…”

“And what did he say?” Stacey demanded.

“He said I should focus on the assignments he gave me. And that you’re more likely to be fired,” said Bob.

“Oh Bob, you fool. Don’t you understand that Silph is just trying to play a game with you?”

“A game?” asked Bob.

“Yes, a game. He’s seeing who can be easily manipulated, and then he’s going to fire those people,” said Stacey.

“Honestly, I think you’re trying to manipulate me,” pointed out Bob.

“Nobody likes a wise guy, Bob. Now go out there and finish that battle simulator!” Stacey left the cubicle, allowing Bob to not allow himself to work on the simulator, but instead to finish the tasks given to him by Silph. He managed to finish at 4:30, and headed over to Silph’s office to hand in his work. However, no one seemed to be there.

“Oh great. Silph doesn’t seem to be in his office,” groaned Bob. “I guess I’ll have to hand this in tomorrow morning.” Bob walked to his cubicle, put on his coat, and headed home, only to be stopped by Johnny.

“Hey Bob, me and the guys are going out tonight! Want to join us?” Johnny shouted from over the cubicle divider.

“Sure, why not. I could use a break,” said Bob.

“Awesome! I’ll give you directions to the place we’re going. Be there by six!” Bob got the directions and headed out to go have his case of the Mondays cured.
