The Different Pokemon Series

Sadly to say, the programmes is getting boring now. Every episode has Team Rocket in it, they fly into the sky and soon after they're back again. There isn't much logic in that. They go far away but in some same episodes, they're back near the end soon after.

Ash's pokemon are getting ridiculous now. In each series he has almost the same types.

Squirtle - Corphish - Buizel

Charizard - Torkoal - Chimchar

Bulbasaur - Sceptile - Turtwig

Pidgeot - Swellow - Staravia (Staraptor?)

He ALWAYS has Pikachu near him. Every time team Rocket tries to steal it, its SO predictable because you know they're going to get sent flying, the attempt will always fail, they'll track team rocket down and they always do that annoying, stupid yet irritating motto!

I've also noticed that he captures the basic birds:
Pidgey - Taillow - Starly.

Brock always goes crazy about girls, first Misty, then May and Max pull him away, (but now, better,) Croagunk.

Is there anything else other members have noticed that are not unique enough? The shows are just too predictable and similar. Regions or not, They should stop making them so alike.

Ash may capture the same types but they all have different personalities to make them unique. At least be glad they don't give him all the starters anymore, so its not so predictable what his team turns out to be.

Team Rocket and Brock are there mostly for comic relief.

The girls, (or at least May and Dawn) are there to give a secondary story to the show so its not just Ash's Gyms.

Ash now has every turtle/tortoise pokemon... Squritle, Torkoal, Turtwig
All pure flying/normal pokemon lines besides chatot and spearow/fearow line (I think) and swablu

And I would like Ash to do some rotating of his team generally, not just in Battle tower battles or similar. We never see his other pokemon that he leaves with the professor except in battle tower challanges really, that should be a little different.

But I agree that all pokemon Ash has caught had different personallities that made each unique even though they were similar types in each gen.

Yes, I am a bit fed up of TR blasting off, but it is comic, but as soon as James brings out Carnivine, you automatically know what will happen, go for James rather than doing what he wants.

One thing I find odd, is how sometimes TR have disguises that fool Ahs and the rest, and you can clearly tell it is TR, I mean who's fooling anyone when Jessies hair is always basically the same? And if no one thinks thats meowth with silly dusguises on, well...

Why don't TR go and find a wild pikachu and catch it? Why waste time, money and be blasted off trying to snatch Ash's?

I would rather in maybe one episode at least, croguank holds back and Brock has least a shot at a girl, but everytime a old enough looking girl appears in the anime and you see Brock nearby, you know what follows, he goes gaga over her, more predictable when you see a nurse Joy or officer Jenny. Come on, that has to change sometime right? Can't keep that up forever, can they?

You know what they need to finally do, give Ash a type he has never had. Dark type, physic type, dragon type for once. I was so pissed a few years back when I saw the previews for a new season of pokemon and Ash's pikachu was fighting Bagon. I was so hyped up thinking they might give it to him...and then I saw the episode and life sucked again. I also think that since we now have Charizard and Sceptile, he needs a fully evolved badass water pokemon. To top it all off...can we please get a series in which pikachu stay's with Ash's mom and he gets a new electric something...that rodent is just getting so annoying.

As for rotateing his pokemon, he needs to do that to his johto pokemon, shine some light on them for the wrong the writers did to them during the johto region.

They're just stupid. They trust everybody and hardly think anything is suspicious when wierd people like TR come at them..

Because Ash's Pikachu is stronger than Pikachu found in the wild and they wont know where to find one, that or they wont train it.

Dunno if this goes here, but I want Misty back. Cuz Togepi and Psyduck are cool, compared to Dawn's somewhat annoying Piplup! I do like that they gave Brock new pokemon though- from Croagunk to Sudowoodo, then theres also the mighty Happiny... haha

Togepi evolved and was released years ago.

Who knows? Maybe they'll switch brock out and give us a new guy and a new girl. We all know Ash could use a major revamp in his companions. I mean, always haveing either brock or misty there has gotten stale for me...I need a break from both of them...and then maybe bring them both back, the original trio, for a short 1 year sage kind of like the BF.

I've always wanted to see Ash travel with brand new companions for a full saga, something we've never seen.

If Ash continues to the 5th gen I'd like to see the 5th gen female and a new male sidekick travel with him. It would make things a bit more fresh next saga.

When Johto was airing there were no new female characters from the games to bring into the show. Remember Marina wasn't created until Crystal version, she wasn't in Gold/Silver, so by that point half of Johto was already over so they couldn't bring her into the show (as a travel companion) that late. There would just be no point to have her there, Contests weren't invented yet and there would be nothing for her to do.

Yes, I remember the thing about Marina now, and yeah tracey was extremely boring compared to brock. I still gotta say, gen 4 would have been the perfect time to switch him out and give us a new male sidekick.

Maybe if Ash wins this league he can get a male sidekick to mentor...then again it would be somehwhat neccessary to age ash a few years...and since they don't do that it will probably never happen.

You know, just to be fair, there's also that possibility that, even IF Marina was created in Gold and silver (which she technically was, since the creators of that game stated they had a female playable character in mind, but didn't implement it in time.), they still wouldn't have had her in the main cast. I mean, take Leaf, for example. She was one of the playable characters in Pokemon FR/LG, and yet they didn't let her into the main cast despite that (they instead opted for May instead.). I mean, I don't care if FR/LG WAS a remake, considering how heavily promoted it was, we can just as easily assume it was a new region. and anyways, if they only advertized it with May's Bulbasaur, then what was the entire point with moving the Battle Frontier to Kanto. As for May being in Kanto due to the promotion of Emerald, I think that the fact that Ash even was competing in the Battle Frontier was more than enough Emerald advertizing.

Umm... last time I checked, Pokemon Breeding wasn't invented in Gen I, and that never stopped Brock from professing that he can be a breeder. If they could give the breeder aspect to Brock in kanto despite it not being invented yet, they can most CERTAINLY give the contest aspect to Marina. Besides, our first Pokemon Contest (technically speaking) was in Princess vs. Princess. Heck, two COTDS with the Nidoran species in the Orange Islands actually REFERENCED Pokemon Contests (in fact, if one doesn't count the queen of the princess festival contest as a pokemon contest, then the earliest mention of them was in the Orange Islands.).

Either that, Or because Hidaka stated that Brock was immune to the whole "eyecandy thing", since he stated that it was eyecandy that was the reason why they replaced Misty, May, and eventually Dawn (though I kinda view it as both sexist and pointless. I mean, if you wanted a fresh air to pokemon, why don't you try doing what Pokemon Special did, and utterly replace the main cast.).

Also, technically, Brock did do something in Johto, as you pointed out, befriended Stantler, and he caught Pineco, and he also participated in that Breeders convention and he technically did much more if we apply the Verb definition (though Misty did much more, though. If you wish, I'll post an entire list.)

And if we want to get extremely technical, even ASH didn't really do much in Johto besides gym battles.

I always thought Brock would not be replaced because they couldn't think of anyone to put in his place. Tracey and Max didn't fare too well, and a third active character would slow the series even more.

Dang, don't remind me. To think, Misty could have a Dragon if she just evolved that Horsea, and May came close to catching a Pokemon that evolves into a Dragon at one point. And of course there's that Haunter, which would have been a colourful addition to Ash's team even if it was responsible for the lamest Gym victory in the entire series.
