'The Dub' referring to the 'English Dub' or 'American Dub'

I had participated in the anime part of the forums for a long time, and one thing I noticed is that whenever the word 'dub' comes up, it's automatically the 'English dub'. I don't know how many people here watch the 'English dub', but by the looks of it they seem to be the majority. However, I would like to point out that there are many different languages dubbing the Pokemon anime, and that 'English' isn't the one and only 'dub' - a.k.a., 'the dub'. It would be nice if there were some clarification on 'dubs' and how they should be discussed, and encourage sharing opinions about dubs in other languages.

I thought they were all the same... I know the UK have the same dub and from what I heard New Zealand (or one of those island countries...) has it too.
I know there are different languages, such as French and Hebrew, though. I'm just wondering why there hasn't been a dub in Aramaic yet (probably has something to do with the ban on the Pokemon games there), but from where I've read on the internet, the children do know about Pokemon and even like Pikachu.
But if there are different ones, I'd say American.

I guess it's because English is lingua-franca of the world & Internet. I agree there are different 'dub' versions, but when I see 'dubbed' I automatically assume it's in English.
People will usually post the language in which the video is dubbed (as far as I've seen on websites with totally legal downloads).
