Kirk sat on top of a block of stone at the foot of Mt. Silver. He had his head resting on his fists, staring down at the ground, which meant he was troubled. Recently he had been hearing frightening reports that surrounded this area. People were saying that Mt. Silver could trigger the destruction of the entire Johto region, which obviously had caused a mass panic. Kirk hadn't believed it at first, thinking it was global warming all over again. However, a new report saying some archeologists had been murdered after finding a tablet describing the events people in the news were talking about... now he believed it.
He looked back up for a second at the chess board sitting on the boulder in front of him, and the Hypno sitting behind it, staring at him impatiently. Kirk quickly analyzed the chess board, and shifted his rook forward three squares, then went back to looking at the ground.
He continued shuffling recent news reports he remembered around in his mind, trying to form some sort of secret in everything. It was obvious the archaeologists hadn't just died; they had been assassinated. This was probably because someone could use the secret needed to save Johto as a bargaining point. But who would do such a thing? His first thought was Team Rocket. No. They were evil, but he didn't think any of their members would actually kill someone, let alone the possibility of killing thousands.
He suddenly heard the sound of wood scraping on wood, and saw that Hypno had shifted her bishop slightly to the side. A pink glow that was around the bishop flashed, then dissappeared. Kirk was using chess to make Hypno's psychic abilities stronger. Kirk analyzed the board again, then moved his knight over, next to her king.
"Check." he muttered.
Hypno started looking around the board, but suddenly stopped. Her eyes widened and she lept up off the rock she was sitting on.
"What's up?" Kirk asked in an uninterested kind of way. Then he noticed a slight rumbling sensation, and jumped slightly when his pawn fell over.
"An earthquake...?" he murmured, raising an eyebrow and lifting himself off of the boulder. The rumbling then grew stronger. The ground beneath his and Hypno's feet was starting the crack and splinter. A patch of earth fell from beneath Hypno's foot, and Kirk caught her by the hand and pulled her out of the hole. Heat rose from the hole, and more ground caved in around it. Kirk threw a Pokéball into the air.
"Dragonite, get us out of here, now!" he yelled.
The majestic orange beast blasted from the Pokéball as Kirk leapt into the air, Hypno in tow. Dragonite beat it's wings, cracking the ground open with the force of it, then pushed off of what little ground there was left. Kirk heard a massive crunching sound, and looked over his shoulder to see where Kirk had been playing chess moments before was now a smoldering abyss.

All the news reports were true.

And it had started.

Kirk had to do something.

Sat upon a male Venusaur who was walking along Route 45, a young man with brown hair, brown eyes and a unique red, white and black jacket was resting ontop of the Seed Pokémon. He hadn't slept last night due to the quakes, but did wish to lose travelling time sleeping.

However, another quake began, and the earth beneath the Venusaur began cracking. The man noticed this and recalled his Venusaur, wordlessly releasing an Aerodactyl, allowing it to grab him and carry him into the air, where a good chunk of Route 45 fell in.

"Hmm, never noticed that when I first when through Johto," he muttered to himself.

Flying high in the crisp air was Clarke, riding his majestic dragon. He has passed by the foot of Mt Silver witnessing the earth tremor that had befallen the young man and his pokemon. He carried on soaring down to Route 45, he noticed another young man with brown hair, brown eyes and a unique red, white and black jacket. He was perched on an impressive Venusaur, it looked a fairly calm setting. Until another quake began, he called out an impressive Aerodactyl only to climb on and be lifted into the air.

These reports that Clarke had heard were just rumours but now he had to do something about it. He had heard that if you were willing to help you had to report to the Goldenrod Radio Tower. He really wanted to help but he wanted to make certain his Pokemon were in top form for the meeting.

((Would you mind if I put on my profile some pokemon that Clarke has stored inside an PC?))

((Yeah, that would be fine.))

As Kirk's Dragonite touched down on the pavement in Goldenrod City, he saw how quickly information of the quake had passed. A full riot had broken out, as everyone was convinced this was the end of the world. Everyone had become a criminal. Bins were being thrown through windows, and respectable citizens were mugging neighbours. Several buildings were aflame. Kirk shook his head in pity.

He looked over into the window of the Dept. Store, where several televisions sat in piles. It appeared to be a news broadcast about the quake Kirk had just escaped from. Kirk put his ear against the window and listened.

"Today the Johto region was in tragedy as a massive quake destroyed a whole area of land. This could be the crisis described in ancient etchings around the Ruins of Alph, and we have to say that... during the quake, the Indigo Plateau was lost. It is currently unknown if any of the Elite Four or the current Champion survived..."

Kirk pounded his fist against the wall of golden brick. That was possibly the regions only real hope. They had lost their greatest asset. Unless... he had seen some advertisements...

He looked up and saw a poster for it. The Regional Rescue And Emancipation Society, or RRES for short. They were the team that were supposed to save the region, and they were looking for experienced trainers to help them.

He flicked the frayed edge of his jacket and headed off towards the Radio Tower, Hypno jogging after him.

Stood before the ruins of the Indigo Plateau stood the lad with the Venusaur and Aerodactyl. Just as he had feared, the quakes weren't limited to the Johto region, but spreading into the Kanto region. He pulled out two Pokéballs and released a female Pikachu and a male Flareon.

"You two, see if there are any survivors. We may as well help until those RRES hurry up and get here," he told the two, who complied and slid down into the "crater". He then turned to the Aerodactyl, and told it "Make sure those two are ok, if the ground starts cracking, pick them out of there. Gyarados will get me out if such a scenario occurs."

"Wow. This shit's pretty bad."

Sasha had returned to Goldenrod city under the premise that things were becoming worse in Johto, but not by this much. She had heard of the earthquakes, the roads crumbling in on the borders of the region, and the rumours of the archaeologists' assassinations. And now there were incoming reports of the destruction of the Indigo Plateau, a massive area and the headquarters of the Kanto and Johto Pokemon league. No one knew how many had survived, and it seemed that even the Champion was missing in action. Things weren't looking good at all.

But that's why she was there, at the radio tower. A call had been sent out over the airwaves, summoning the "most experienced trainers" in Johto, or any other region, to Goldenrod. It helped that Goldenrod was her current place of residence - she was able to just walk a few blocks down the road to reach the tower, like she had done many times before. Only this time she wasn't going there to participate in the weekly radio show, or participate in the lottery. Sasha was going to try and help save the entire Johto region.

And by the looks of things, the region would need all of the help she and other trainers could give. Upon entering the tower, she was surprised to see so few had come; the lobby was hardly packed, with only half a dozen or so trainers lounging about on the faded furniture. She reminded herself that the call had only gone out last night; it might take awhile for the flood of trainers who wanted to help to finally arrive.

You should stop being so serious, a voice in her head suddenly sprang up from the edges of her mind, You sound like a damned funeral mourner.

The voice was right, though; it wasn't like her to be so somber. Usually she was a boisterous, laughing lady who made jokes. But it seemed like that day, 'twixt all the chaos and reports of death, she could hardly summon up a smile. A wave of depression had set in, and it was raining in her mind.

At least let someone out, so you won't be lonely.

A good suggestion, Sasha agreed. But who could she release? She gave it a brief thought, runnning over the five Pokemon in her party. When she made her choice, she plucked out a red and white PokeBall from the belt under her black jacket and gave it a toss.

It opened in midair, and white light spilled out, forming into a Pokemon. It was blue, stood about four feet off of the ground, and had a massive horn protruding upwards from where its nose should have been. It was a Pokemon native to the Johto region; a Heracross, specifically a female one.

"Come on, Scara," Sasha said, using the Pokemon's designated nickname, "let's go sit down. I'm tired."

She wasn't so much physically tired as she was mentally tired. The past few days of panic and utter chaos had been murder on her psyche. There was a fear for herself - would she survive the onslaught of quakes and possible eruptions? - and a fear for her family, who also lived in Goldenrod, just down the way from her.

Things will turn out all right, that voice came again, Things will turn out all right, and everything will be hunky-dory again.

I hope you're right, Sasha thought, sitting down. Then she laughed outwardly.

It didn't take a lot to realise she had just been talking to herself.

Scara watched her trainer quizzically, unable to tell just what had happened. Of course, maybe she didn't want to know, either.

No sign of them. No sign of the Elite Four or the Champion. This confused the man as usually a body would at least turn up, but then again the earth should at least be able to stay together.

Sighing, he returned the Flareon and Pikachu, before hopping onto the back of the Aerodactyl and flying to Goldenrod. He had been making his way to their from Blackthorn City before this whole incident, having been told of a broadcast for strong trainers to gather.

Upon arrival, he landed outside the Radio Tower's enterance. Returning the Aerodactyl, he entered the building while brushing off the dirt gathered from th Indigo ruins. He stopped near a woman who was sitting with a Heracross nearby, assuming this was the gathering point.
"Damn Indigo Plateau," he muttered to himself, "even when in ruin, I still get filthy going there."

Kirk stepped through the revolving doors into the Radio Tower, and was unsurprised to see that there were only around seven trainers already there. He noticed a tough looking girl sitting in a tattered armchair, with a female Heracross crouching by her side, and a guy in an admittedly stylish jacket who just looked like he'd stepped out of a chimney.
A few other people were chatting in hushed voices, but Kirk didn't pay any attention to them. These two seemed like the only really strong people in the room, he could sense it. Kirk always seemed to be able to sense battling ability.
Kirk's boots clunked against the wooden floor as he proceeded to hide himself in a corner. He placed one of his boots up against the wall, folded his arms and closed his eyes.
Hypno sat down with her legs crossed next to him and started to meditate.
Both were completely silent.

(PREVIOUSLY)

Wayne was skydiving with Fearow when it happened. as Fearow swooped in at the last moment so he could land on it the land under him collapsed. "WAAA WAA WAHHH FEAROW ALAKAZAM HELP ME!" he screamed as he through a ball up and in a flash of light, a mystical Psychic appeared, and stopped Wayne from falling, while the giant bird swooped in and save him. "Thanks guys... I would've died without you. What happened here?" he asked. Immediately, almost as a response to his question, his Pokégear rang off and the radio made the announcement. Today the Johto region was in tragedy as the second of two massive quakes destroyed a whole area of land. This could be the crisis described in ancient etchings around the Ruins of Alph, and we have to say that... during the quake, the Indigo Plateau was lost. It is currently unknown if any of the Elite Four or the current Champion survived..." (sorry I copy/pasted your broadcast X, I thought we should hear the same thing, just a little different)

Wayne listened to the broadcast, and about the team arranged to save the land. He journeyed to Goldenrod City and waited in the Radio Tower with other trainers.

(PRESENTLY)
Another trainer came in, this one a brown haired man, with a nice jacket. Wayne liked that jacket. A Hypno meditated beside him. Wayne could tell it was a female by the thick neck fur. Wayne silently let Alakazam out and began to polish his spoon while the others played with their Pokémon. (sound familiar Jagz?)

"Now, now, don't worry, I'll fix everything." Archie announces to the populace, striding confidently towards the radio tower, a jubilant Lopunny and tired looking Infernape following him."The book, please." He says to the Lopunny. She cheerily hands him a leather bound tome labeled 'Archeologist's Handbook.' "Rule 658: Always save Johto from natural disasters caused by crumbling mountains." He says as he scrawls the rule in his book with a gold pen. The infernape looks at the Lopunny disdainfully, clearly disgusted by her overly cheerful attitude.

The lad with the unique jacket heard a loud announcement, as if addressing the public, outside. He turned and looked through the clear glass doors of the radio tower to see what looked like blindness personified walking toward the tower, writing something into a book and with a Lopunny and Infernape in tow.

He took a Pokéball from his belt and released the Pokémon inside...a female Pikachu, which caused a reaction from one of his other Pokéballs.

"Calm down, Flareon," he said, "Pikachu's going to be fine."

After walking a few blocks, Archie arrives at the tower. He taps Sasha on the shoulder. "Pardon me' ma'am. I'm Archibald Smithe' ace archeologist. You've probabally heard of me." As he says this, his infernape gives looks at Sasha, a long-suffering, "This is my life" expression on it's face. "I'm here to sign up for the Mt. Silver doohickey." the archeologist states. "So, um... Where do I do that?"

In a dimly lit room in an undisclosed location, a figure sat in an armchair, waiting for something. They were watching a televison screen, the only thing lighting the room. It appeared to be CCTV footage of a foyer. Around nine people either stood around the room, waiting, or sitting in moth-eaten chairs with their Pokémon. The figure flicked their head to the side and spoke in a gruff voice.
"How many more are coming?" they asked. They had a male voice. He was adressing another person, leaning against a wall at the back of the room. They also spoke in a male voice, but it had no personality to it, and no emotion at all.
"Agent Epsilon told us that the largest amount of people to come to this meeting would be around ten. We cannot be expecting many more." he droned. The man in the chair nodded.
"Thankyou, Omega. Well, phase two of the operation can start now." he replied, grinning. He picked himself up out of the chair.
"We have them right where we want them." he sniggered. He flicked his head up and released a piercing, evil laugh, a fedora falling off his hat due to his enthusiasm. The man at the back of the room fidgeted uncomfortably.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Kirk was observing all the other people in the room closely. They all seemed tough, but the man who had just walked in was a bit difficult to identify. He was dressed like a lunatic. Kirk most wanted to battle the guy in the unique jacket, as he had just released a strong looking Pikachu.
"Attention, trainers!" a voice boomed to Kirk's side. He flicked his head to the side and saw a man wearing a black suit, with white hair and a thick moustache. He was holding a cane with a diamond top. He looked very honourable. He put down a megaphone he was using to speak, and spoke normally, in a low, rasping voice.
"My name is Willis Rossberg. I am the director at the Radio Tower, and the mayor of Goldenrod has asked me to host this meeting here." he smiled. He paused to look around at the trainers.
"May I say, you have asked to join an organisation to rescue thousands of lives at the risk of your own. This mission is not for the faint hearted. Two people have already died starting the mission for you. If you have any doubts, please leave now." he rasped, gesturing to the door.
One small boy who looked about ten jumped up and pointed dramatically at Willis.
"I'm not going to die for you, you old fart!" he yelled, running through the doors. Willis nodded.
"Well, that leaves us with eight people, then. Well, if you could all write down your names on these forms..." he asked, slamming a stack of paper on the counter in front of him.

((lol))

Joy, paperwork Wayne thought. Alakazam made a set of papers come to Wayne. "Thank you 'Zam" The Psi Pokémon grunted. The form looked like a medical paper you fill out at the hospital, not a sign up form. "Joy, a waiver. Let's see, if I die, they will compensate a minimal amount to my family. Way to dig deep." Wayne filled out the paper. "Pokémno, Level? A bit too much. I don't keep track, do you 'Zam?" he asked. He shrugged. "Unknown level." he wrote, "There. All done." Wayne handed in the forms and the old man thanked him.

After some light training, Clarke noticed the time and decided he should get to the radio tower. He had worries about being late so he ran. Pelting down the streets of goldenrod, trying to find the tower, he was clueless. It was virgin territory to him but will look and a good sense of direction he managed to reach to doors. He ran through the doors to notice a group of trainers ready to save the region, as he went to fill a form in a thought came to him maybe they could save the Johto region.

The man with the unique jacket filled out the forms quickly, pausing to check his Pokégear for his Pokémon's levels. He then handed them to Willis, before visibly shivering. Releasing his Flareon, he took out a scrap of paper, wrote something down, and handed it to the Pokémon which ran out the door of the tower and to the left, out of sight.

"ULTIMATE PAPERWORK TECHNIQUE!!! FIST OF THE RUBBER STAMP!!! YAAAAAAA!!!" Archie yells at the top of his lungs. He then takes out a rubber stamp and hits the paper with it until it's completely black with ink. He then hands it in to Willis.
"Here you go. I believe everything is in order. You can sell it for a lot, too."

"Wow, this is a lot different then when I was here before," referring to his recent travels to Sinnoh. Zac was walking in his hometown of Goldenrod when he heard someone yelling something about a stamp in the Radio Tower. "Guess I might as well check what it is." He walked in the building.

Willis took the form from the strangely dressed man.
"If you say so, Mister, erm, Archibald. I will, treasure it always." Willis rasped, obviously trying to spare the mans feelings.
Kirk admired that. He had sensed something about the man. Was it kindness? Kirk couldn't tell.
Willis looked over Archie's shoulder at the door, where a young man had just walked in, who he started waving to.
Kirk wouldn't have noticed him if Willis hadn't pointed him out. He was quite young, looking about ten years younger than Kirk was, but could be taken to be older because of his beardy look.
Willis called to the boy in his rasping voice.
"Welcome, welcome! Are you here for the meeting? No, you're not too late. Just sign on these forms and we can be on our way." he rasped, like we were hearing half a conversation, not letting the boy answer.
Willis suddenly jumped up on the top of the counter with surprising athletic ability and leapt off. Someone gasped. He landed in front of the boy with a pen in one hand and a form in the other.
Kirk suddenly realised. He had noticed something about Willis. He was a complete nutjob.
And he'd just signed his life over to him.
Crap.

"Okay, I guess." Zac cautiously took the paper and signed it, "I'm bored and got nothing to do. So what are we doing?"
