Which part do you have a problem with in particular?

I don't have a huge problem with compensation, but the part where the interior secretary can dictate what's in and what's out and the part where if the government doesn't respond in 180 days the developer can go right in is what troubles me.

I'm with the person quoted who said this is going to be a death warrant for treasured American wildlife.

I wish humans would think about more than just humans for a change.

Or the part where the interior secretary has to decide what constitutes scientific data. Since when did politicians become scientists?

Since way before Galileo was tried for heresy.

Well, obviously scientists are trying to overthrow the government, and the government has to put a stop to that by only listening to data that best suits the government's purposes is important.

I mean, really, the whole global warming thing? Just a big scare, trying to get Americans to consume less resources. And we can't have that, now, can we?

[/sarcasm]

How long until you guys can't use the bald eagle as your national animal anymore due to extinction, again?

Guess we'll have to go with the turkey, like Benjamin Franklin wanted.

Good thing he didn't get his wish. Can you imagine how much mocking of America would take place? It'd be worse than Canada's beaver! :p

All hail the Snowy Owl, emblem of Québec!

If the Bald Eagle goes extinct, the Crow might become our national bird. It does perfectly embody US values.
Did you know Richard Pombo ranks among the thirteen most corrupt Congressmen in Washington D.C.?
I hate all parts of this bill. It's an outrage.
The Snowy Owl is the emblem of Quebec? Awesome. Maybe I should just move to Canada when I graduate from college.
