Ah the obligatory Eurovision thread. We ponder the same questions and topics every year. Who is representing your country? Do you support them? What is your favourite song this year? Who do you want to win? etc etc. Use this thread to discuss all things Eurovision.

My personal thoughts after watching the first semi-final...well, I have to say the standard is slightly lower than last year so far. I did enjoy Denmark, Russia and Belgium quite a bit. The others failed to leave an impression on me. Sad Denmark didn't make it to the final. I felt they have the best song of the night.

Finland's entry was great. They were never going to get through to the final and certainly they were never going to win but they made everyone smile and their song (while terrible) was refreshingly short. My worry about this years show is that there are too many ballads. I like the quirky, catchy pop songs but as the years go on they seem to be being faded out.

We got Guy Sebastian representing us at Eurovision. And our spokesperson will be Lee Lin Chin (who does the news on weekends on SBS here in Australia). And I might watch it this year to see what it is all about.

I think Sweden will win Eurovision this year though with Australia either second or third. Good luck to all the countries participating in Eurovision.

I managed to make it online for tonight, so I might post here for a while if more people show up.

Anyways, Greece is represented by Maria-Elena Kyriakou with "One Last Breath" appearing at 15th place in the final (we made it past the semi-finals yeah :) ). Said singer won the TV show "The Voice of Greece" last year and was picked among 5 nominations in the national competition. It is... just a ballad. And it kinda feels like it is trying to mimic last year's winning song in its very beggining, although it gets different later on. Oh, the spokespeople chosen are the same as always.

My favourites were Estonia (which ended up 7th), the United Kingdom (which ended up 24th) and Germany (which ended up last with 0 pts along with Austria). My favourites usually get bad results and sometimes they don't even qualify. So 2015 results were nice for my favoruites compared to previous years.
