Paul's Electivire and Ash's infernape

I think the writers will go in this direction and it will an epic rematch between the two after monferno lost to electebuzz in Ash and pauls first full battle

What do you guys think about this idea and if you think it'll be different post in the thread

Are we ditching on the idea of the Sinnoh Elite Four?

Garchomp vs Garchomp

As far as the tournament goes, it would be great if Ash were to beat Paul with the Pokemon formerly known as Paul's Chimchar fully evolved into Infernape. It would be a perfect karma victory: the Pokemon that Paul ditches for being too weak is later the one who hands Paul his Sinnoh League defeat.

Personally I think it'll be Pikachu vs. EVire and Monferno/Infernape vs. Torterra. The first Pokémon of Paul's team Pika fought was Elekid, and they established a type of friendly rivalry when Electabuzz was under Reggie's care. Also, I'd think it would be neat to see Pika pull a Feint on EVire to see Paul's reaction.

But I say the Sinnoh starter showdown will be the climax of the battle.

I don;t know the only moves that should affect Electivire are Quick Attack and Iron Tail. And unfortunately for Ash and Pikachu electric types resist steel type moves.

Pikachu needs to learn a new move even if temporary (before the battle though, not during).

While I much prefer signal beam, Flail might not be such a bad move actually. And in case you say Pikachu can't learn flail, Heart Gold and Soul Silver say otherwise.

Regardless Pikachu's current moves are less than ideal against and Electivire.

And unless Feint pulls a mystery dungeon on us, it's going to be pretty useless. And if Electivire were to ever survive the first feint, you can almost guarantee that Paul wouldn't use protect again (at least against Pikachu). Thus feint becomes a one chance move. While Flail, and Signal Beam don't have that same problem.

I think it should be a double battle that eventually comes to Pika/Monferno (which will evolve during the battle) VS Electivire/Magmortar

I don't understand why many people think that Ash's Pikcahu will battle against Electivire. That's a nonsense. When it was an Elekid thy ere equal. But now when it evolved an if it evolves once more to Electivire... You guys are kidding. Now way Pikachu can win. Even with new moves. The won't battle against each other.

The writers purposely gave Ash and Paul mostly similar Poké for a reason

With that logic it shouldn't be able to beat Raichu and some other Poké that it did beat...

That the writers will decide, they can do whatever they want

Piplup, I think some people don't get the concept of training.

Just because for example Chimchar beats Elctabuzz, it doesn't mean when Chimchar evolves, Monferno is vastly superior to that same Electabuzz.

Just because Pikachu tied with Elekid, doesn't mean it can't beat it as an Electivire.

Exactly
And even without thinking about training - the writers can do whatever they want and it doesn't matter at all what some fans think... it's as simple as that
If they want Pika to beat Electivire, it will...

Of course they can do whatever they want. They can make Ash's Pikachu win over Cynthia's Garchomp.
I don't doubt.

But it will be strange at least.

Training. Interesting reason. So tell me one thing: do you think Paul won't train his Electabuzz/Electivire? If Ash will train Pikachu and Pikachu will learn new moves the same thing goes to Paul and his Pokemon.

The thing is that with Pikachu training doesn't matter. He has massive ability spikes and drops in every show of the anime. (I mean he beats a Regice and less than a week later ties an Elekid... really?)

You can't assume anything from Pika. I mean didn't he loose to a Feebas in one episode? (or was it a Magikarp... either way my point is the same)

At this point, Pika can beat any opponent or any number of opponents at once... or he can loose to any opponent. It all depends on what the writers want him to do.

I was then going to argue strategy but either I was pressed for time (I had to check something) or I wasn't sure how to word it.

And I hate how some forums, log you out automatically after a period of inactivity. Annoys the heck out of me when I'm typing a long post and I have to log in again just to post or preview it.

Ash Vs. Paul in the final, final fight is a fully evolved Infernape Vs. whoever Paul's last Pokemon is.

You know what's funny? Both the Indigo and Johto league matches ended with Ash's Charizard. Charizard refusing to obey killed him in Indigo, and Charizard Vs. Blaziken ended him in Johto.

Only in Hoenn was Pikachu the last one standing. So its safe to say Pikachu doesn't have to be the last battle with Paul, and I am betting Infernape will overshadow it.

I don't understand why so many people still believe Ash can beat Paul in League and I even less understand why so many of you even want to see such stupid thing. Of course writers can do anything, but I still hope they know what's good for their show and let Ash beat Paul after that massacre he got, simply is not good, because the only way I can imagine Ash can win is by ubelivable DEM. And since it's even worse to let Paul beat Ash again, I am seriously expecting we will not see Ash vs. Paul battle in the League. I am expecting Nando will beat Paul and then in next round (semifanal, hopefully) he will also beat Ash.
So, what I am expecting for last battle of Sinnoh League is Nando's Roserade vs. Ash's Monferno/Infernape. Of course Nando will somehow win it.

Personally I think Ash will beat Paul but lose against Jun in the finals. Chalk me up as another Pikachu-Electivire finalist.
