I'd like to bring up something that I haven't seen discussed before. That is to say, how you would like the final season of Pokemon to unfold. Who would you like to see travel with Ash? What plotlines would you like to see resolved? What would you like to happen to close out the incredible saga's of Ash, and Team Rocket?

For me, I would like to see Ash travel in his final journey with May, Brock, and Dawn. I'd like it to be in a new land not yet mentioned, where his challenges are more than just a simple gym battle. I'd also like him to use every Pokemon of his at least once throughout the course of the season, and reclaiming some of his old ones that he released (especially Butterfree, Primeape, Pidgeot, and Lapras). At the end of his arc, he would finally become a Pokemon Master, and take over the job of one of the Frontier Brains.

For the plotlines, I's like to see several things:

1) Finally settle his differences with the Fearow he aggrieved in episode one
2) Find out who his father is
3) Reunite with all of his old Pokemon
4) Have his connection with Ho-Oh finally revealed

Now heres the complex one that I think would be great to end of the entire series with (more of a multi=episode plot idea really).

Team Rocket (organisation) & Giovanni have finally achieved their goal of capturing a legendary Pokemon, by taking Ho-Oh. Ash, May, Dawn, and Brock have to use all of their skills to free the legendary Pokemon. But against the might of the entire Team Rocket organisation they are overwhelemd. Giovanni is about to finish the four off for good when Jessie, James, and Meowth finally side against their boss and take the attacks meant for the four, fighting against Giovanni with all they have. The four are able to use this betrayal to their advantage and free Ho-Oh, who immediately attacks Team Rocket. The link between Ash and Ho-Oh is finally revealed, and Ash learns that Giovanni is his father. Giovanni disbands Team Rocket, and Jessie, James, and Meowth are left free to pursue their own dreams.

What would you like to see happen in the final season of Pokemon?

I really don't like planning that far ahead, the anime will end more than likey when the games do, Now Ash's journey needs to come to a head sometime soon but even if he leaves the show will probably take a gx approach like yu-gi-oh and keep on going till the games die out.

I wouldn't say that he settled with the Fearow in that episode though. It seemed to me that Fearow fled because it knew it couldn't beat Pidgeot - thats why Ash left Pidgeot behind, to prevent Fearow and all of it's Spearow brethren from attacking the Pidgey and Pidgeotto again.

I'd like to see a real reconcilliation.

There are two major things the writers have to do during the final season:

- Team Rocket as a whole needs to be dissolved by Ash. We need some sort of final confrontation between Ash and Giovanni, which eventually leads to the downfall of the organization. Afterward Jessie/James/Meowth finally realize to move on with their lives and decide to stop pursuing Ash and Pikachu.

- Ho-oh's connection with Ash is revealed. This is something the writers are obviously saving for the end considering they keep reminding us of it once every major season.

There are other things, like the GS ball, but god knows we'll never have any resolution on that. I don't think Ash's travel companions matter at this point, it'll most likely be a new girl from whatever region Ash finishes in and maybe a new sidekick character. I would like to know follow-ups on May and Dawn however, especially if either manages to win a Grand Festival.

I can see Ash beating Cynthia after the Sinnoh League (with maybe a short sub-saga on the Battle Zone island, maybe involving Palmer?) being a good catalyst for the beginning of the end.

It would be weird for all the loose ends to be tied all at once, but I would like to see Ash with his dad, and what TR's future is like.

How many seasons of the anime will be made, I wonder? Have the Japanese producers ever mentioned what they're forecasting, or is it open ended?

Things I would like to see...

1) Ash needs to get a job. Jesse&James' resumes are maxed out by this point and he has yet to do squat besides bumming around the world.

2) Ash & Giovanni throw it down. Never saw PKMN Live but I don't want Ash rescued by M2 or anyone else -- Ash needs to beat Giovanni once and for all. That, sadly, probably has more chance of happening than Ash ever beating the E4.

3) Deal with J&J's future. I'll survive if they don't get married (barely, sniff), but they're on-again-off-again relationship gets on my nerves. This is why I don't date.

4) An admission that there are many fanfics better than the crap episodes they sometimes dish out -- like that will ever happen. :D

I think Ho-oh has been resolved in the 8th movie. The only time we see a major plot for Ho-oh was in the 8th movie and it turned out to be a Mew. Mew is the Alpha and Ho-oh the Omega (to borrow relgious terms) ... but I suspect that there is no Ho-oh except for Mew. To me, it's Mew who has the weird fascination with Ash. How many times has Ash been involved in some Mew-related plot? Since Ash might be related to Aaron, I think this sums up the fascination, indeed -- with all legendaries involved. I think his powerful aura attracts them.

The writers probably have a basic idea how they're going to wrap up Ash's journey but its obviously going to be stretched out over how long they intend to advertise the games.

Since the writers know that none of Ash's travel companions are permanant anymore they probably have a basic idea how they're going to write them out now. It wouldn't surprise me if the writers already decided on what's going to happen to Dawn at the end of D/P, especially now looking back at AG in retrospect, the writers were probably always planning on having May run off with Drew as soon as they introduced them at the start.

I'd love for Anabel to travel with Ash for a year, that would be very different. Get rid of Brock and maybe have Paul join the team and still be at each others throwts. Than we'd have a team of gym battlers on our hand for once. I am very curious as to what they plan to do next year when D/P ends, as Scott said I'm sure they already have a plan for how Dawns journey ends.
