The Final Training Frontier: The Next Story in Aqua Marina's story.
Rating: PG-PG13

Chapter 1: Welcome to Mossdeep Island

Aqua Marina held onto her blastoise as it began to swim towards the shore of Mossdeep Island.
Today she had taught it dive, and tested it out, just for fun. Aqua had never been diving before and was a little scared, but she trusted her Pokémon would keep her safe. “That was awesome,
Blastoise!” Aqua cried as she hugged the Pokémon she had just had an underwater adventure with. Her wet, dark brown hair was flat against her head. Her brown eyes sparkled in the strong sunlight through goggles she was wearing. She wore an aquamarine bikini, and had a small device that allowed her to breath underwater.

It was around noon, and the sun was bright and hot, when Blastoise and Aqua landed back on Mossdeep Island. Aqua was sort of tired, and decided to stop her exploring for a while to call Red, but first she let out her Pokémon so they could get some air. She took out five more pokeballs and released: a pidgeotto, a clefairy, a quilava, a graveler, and her beloved eevee, Vee. She sat down by a big rock on the shore and took her cell phone out of her water proof bag. “Red!” Aqua exclaimed as he answered.

“Aqua. How’s Hoenn?” Red responded to her excitement.

“It’s so awesome! I just went diving with Blastoise and saw so many water Pokémon. We did have a close encounter with a sharpedo, though. But everything’s great!”

“Where are you now?” Red asked.

Aqua was still a little hyper. “I’m on the shore of Mossdeep. Later my Pokémon and I are going to visit that space center! For now we just wanted to cool off.”

“That’s great, Aqua. You deserve a rest after the excitement two weeks ago.”

“I still get shivers when I think of that.” Aqua said lowly. “Anyway, at least Team Rocket activity has ceased again.”

“That’s the good news. Aqua, just be careful over there. I recently head that Team Magma is very active lately.” Red warned her.

Aqua paused for a minute. She knew exactly who Team Magma was, and how they planned to dry up the oceans so ground Pokémon would have more suitable habitats. At least that was what they claimed to be after. “Don’t worry; I’ll keep my eyes open.” Aqua finally said.

“Alright Aqua. Please come back to Kanto safely.”

“Sure. Bye Red!” Aqua exclaimed as the call ended. She put down the phone next to her and sighed. “If only I had some company.”

“Eve e!” Aqua’s eevee, Vee, was now standing at her feet staring straight at her. He could tell she was starting to feel lonely.

“I know, Vee.” Aqua smiled at the sight of the fluffy brown Pokémon. “I have you guys. Who needs humans.”

Vee looked very happy as it proceeded to hop on her lap.

Aqua giggled. “Vee, we’re going to visit the space center today, and speaking of that, I sometimes wonder if there is life out there in the universe.”

Vee looked confused.

Aqua looked at her Pokémon. “I was just thinking random thoughts, Vee. Now, how about we start out for our next adventure for today?”

“Vee Vee.” Vee nodded.

Aqua got up and brought back all of her Pokémon, except Vee. He always liked to stay out and keep her company. Aqua put on matching light blue shorts and tank top, and was ready for more adventure. “Let’s go, Vee!” Aqua said as the eevee ran behind her. They were on their way to their next adventure.

*This story is not going to be rushed, if I can help it. lol. This is going to be one pokemon adventure she's headed for! And because of the fact that the end of the semester is crazy, chapters will not be up almost everyday, like in my first, but I will try and make them longer. The next few chapter are going stem from an event in Pokemon Emerald. It may be posted in the next few days. What do you think so far? Please comment:)

I agree, this sequel got a good start. I'm looking forward to it!

Aww, it was just gettin good...I'll be awaiting chapter 2. Your EPIC at this

NOTE: When reading over this chapter, I actually looked back at Mossdeep city on both Sapphire and Emerald to remember sort of how the Space Center looks, but I changed it a little bit. Also, this chapter is based off of an event in Pokemon Emerald. Anyway, when reading please remember that Aqua is a very strong pokemon trainer, and is very close to being a pokemon master. Sorry for the speech. Please enjoy and comment!

Chapter 2 - How To Manage Magma Easily

It was around 2 PM when Aqua finally arrived at the Space Center. The building was huge, looked futuristic, and was grey in color. It also had satellites on the roof, and Aqua could also see a rocket in the horizon behind it. Outside the glass doors was a sign that read “Mossdeep Space Center. The Closest Place to Space.” As soon as she got near the front doors, a weird sensation came over her. “I feel like something’s wrong.” Aqua thought to herself as she now went through the glass doors.

On the other side she found nobody there. They place was deserted, or was it? She decided to walk around to see if she could find at least somebody.

Aqua entered the room full of monitors and computers to find a group of people trying to stand up to thugs in maroon uniforms. “Team Magma!” Aqua screamed as she jumped back.

The head Team Magma commander noticed Aqua’s presence and turned around. “Don’t interfere.” He had an evil grin on his face.

“Whatever you’re up to, stop it!” Aqua cried.

“And what are you going to do about it, little girl.” The commander laughed.

Aqua hated being called that. She didn’t think she looked that young, being 19. She was frustrated that people always thought she was around 10. “That’s it! I have to battle you!”

“NO! Don’t!” One of the people being harassed by Team Magma screamed. “You can’t battle in here. You’ll destroy technology if an attack goes astray.”

Aqua glanced around at all the computers and monitors used for space missions. “Oh…..” Was all she could say.

The Magma commander turned to the people. “Give us the rocket fuel.”

“Never! We won’t just hand something like that over to people like you.” A woman stood up to them.

Aqua knew she had to do something, and it was very obvious that these people being attacked did not have Pokémon.

“Mightyena attack her!” The commander screamed.

That was it; Aqua wouldn’t stand by and watch any longer. “Go Vee!” Aqua cried, in a serious tone.

The commander turned and laughed at the cute Pokémon, while the people had a look of desperation on their faces.

“Vee, secret power. And be sure to only hit Mightyena.” Aqua cried out nervously. All she needed to do was to break something, and it would be an even more perfect end to the day. (sarcasm)

Vee attacked, and luckily only hit the Mightyena.

Either the mightyena was weak, or Vee was strong. Mightyena suffered a one hit knock out.

“NOOOOO!” The commander yelled. “It’s one of those unbeatable trainers!”

“I think I’ll call the police.” Aqua pulled out her cell phone.

“Retreat!” The commander ordered the rest of the Team Magma members. And with that order they cleared the building.

The people’s eyes lit up as they watched in disbelief as Aqua simply defeated them within a matter of minutes.

“That was fantastic!” The same woman that told off Team Magma called out to Aqua as she began to approach her. She was average height, thin and physically fit, and had long platinum blond hair. She was dressed in dress pants and a blouse, and looked to be in her late 20’s early 30’s. “I bet you’re a Pokémon trainer, aren’t you?”

“Yes I am. My name is Aqua Marina, and I hope to soon become a Pokémon master.” Aqua smiled.

“A Pokémon master….” The woman thought for a minute. “My name is Luna. And I really want to reward you for saving us and the rocket fuel.”

“It was nothing, but what did they want with it?” Aqua asked.

“I don’t know, but they didn’t want to use it for good.” Luna responded.

“This is nothing new to me. I just dealt with Team Rocket back in Kanto. They’re all crazy.”

“You’re from Kanto?” That caught Luna’s attention even more.

“Yes. From Cerulean City.” Aqua looked at Luna.

“I grew up in Pewter City, and was a Pokémon trainer for a few years. Although things didn’t not work out, and it became clear that I was not meant to be a trainer, but an astronaut.

Aqua’s eyes widened. “Wow! Have you ever been in space!”

“Yes, once.” Luna said with a straight face.

“That’s awesome! I wish I could go on an adventure like that.” Aqua squealed, and then stopped. “But the fact is, it’s clear now that’s most likely not my destiny.”

Luna was surprised that Aqua had an interest in space travel. “Aqua, don’t come to conclusions like that. You just may get your chance someday.”

“I hope your right, Ms. Luna.” Aqua sighed.

Luna thought for a minute. “Maybe Aqua could…”

“It would be so awesome.” Aqua sighed again.

“Aqua, do you want me to give you a tour?” Luna broke her thought, and changed the subject.

“Sure. That would be great.” Aqua smiled, and picked up Vee, to carry him.

Luna smiled. “You’re eevee is not just strong, but it’s adorable as well.”

“Eve vee.” Vee cried as though to say thank you.

Aqua then followed Luna out of the room. Aqua was headed towards her own destiny, unknowingly.

Preview for next episode:
Next time in The Final Training Frontier: “What! A Pokémon is where? And you want me to what?” Aqua is exclaiming.
What do you think so far?

Warning: Very shocking plot adhead! lol.

Chapter 3- An Out of This World Offer

As Luna was showing her around, they got to a point where they were going to see the rocket. The rocket gave Aqua the chills just looking at it. To think some brave people were actually going to get on that thing. “When is the next launch?” Aqua finally asked after staring at it in awe.

“In two days. It’s going to orbit earth for a week, and I guess I should mention that I’ll be on it.” Luna responded.

“Waaaa. You’re going on a space mission in two days?” Aqua screamed and then turned red. “Well, good luck.”

“Thanks, Aqua. But maybe you can help me with something.” Luna said in a neutral tone.

“What do you need?” Aqua asked shyly.

Luna looked at Aqua and smiled. “First, what do you think of the space Pokémon, Deoxys?”

“There are Pokémon in space?!” Aqua was surprised.

“Yes. And my partner and I were wondering if we could train a brave, strong Pokémon trainer to go on a space flight, and attempt to catch it since it's been threatening space missions. We have a place on this upcoming mission, I’d like to take along a qualified trainer.” Luna had something in mind.

Aqua began to feel as though she couldn’t breathe. “Do you have a trainer in mind?”

Luna looked straight at Aqua. “You!”

“Meee!” Aqua could hardly talk now. She felt as though she was going to explode.

“Yes, Aqua. The way you handled Team Magma, you’re definitely brave and should be rewarded. And you just said it yourself, you want to go into space.” Luna was throwing Aqua’s good deed for the day in her face.

“Is this really happening?!” Aqua wanted to cry, as Vee just looked in shock.

Luna smiled. She knew Aqua was in shock. “If you’re fit, you just may become the first, what we will call, astro poketrainer.”

“No.” Aqua said weakly. She was becoming frightened at something she thought she would be thrilled to do.

“Aqua, it’s fine.” Luna was a little surprised at Aqua’s reaction after she had just said how awesome it would be to go into space. But she would not leave Aqua behind. “I’m not going to let you miss this. Our mission is in two days, so we have to start now.”

Aqua couldn’t talk. She stared at Luna with a terrified look on her face. “What if something goes wrong?” Aqua finally said.

“The team does everything possible to make the mission a success, though. I have faith that we’ll be fine.” Luna was smiling, as though fearless.

“Well, I’m only a Pokémon trainer. Why me?” Aqua was unsure, and seemed to want to get out of this.

“You are the best trainer I’ve seen since the last champion. You, Aqua, are almost a Pokémon Master.” Luna was still smiling. “And a Pokémon master would never turn down a chance to encounter a legendary Pokémon, nor an adventure like this.”

Aqua thought for a moment. “Ever since I was a child I imagined going into space, but now I actually have a chance. And the fact that I could meet Deoxys, something a Pokémon trainer could only dream about.”

“All the more reasons to grab this opportunity.” Luna encouraged her.

Aqua sighed and looked up at Luna. “I’ll do it. Thanks.”

“That’s great Aqua! Now shall we see if you’re fit for the job?” Luna was really happy for Aqua.

“Sure.” Aqua got up and followed Luna out of the room and down a hall.

They walked for awhile, until they came to a door. Luna opened the door to reveal a room full of space travel training equipment. Two guys were in the room and turned to greet them. One was a crew member, and one was there to help with training.

“Guys, this is Aqua Marina, our possible third crew member. She’s a soon to be Pokémon master, and has agreed to see that Deoxys.”

“You’re the girl who saved us earlier!” One of the guys exclaimed upon getting a look at her. He was tall, fit, and had light brown hair. He looked to be in his 30’s.

“Yes, I’m that girl.” Aqua smiled nervously.

“Aqua, this is Ash, the pilot.” Luna introduced him.

“Are you up to this girl? Let’s see…can you handle extreme temperatures?” Ash asked Aqua. “You know it’s cold in space.”

“Well, I once walked through deep snow for a mile, in a mini skirt, on my way to Snowpoint City in Sinnoh.” Aqua twitched and then smiled recalling that cold adventure.

“Woa! What happened?” Ash asked her in surprise.

“How was I supposed to know there would be snow on the ground.” Aqua laughed.

“And you laugh about it now. You do seem really tuff, Aqua.” Ash looked at her again. “Wait aren’t you a little young?

“I’m 19.” Aqua hated when people thought she looked 10.

“Fair enough, but we still have to see if you’re qualified.” Ash smiled at her.

“How scary is this training, because from what I know it’s nothing like Pokémon training.” Aqua was nervously shaking.”

“You’ll make it.” Luna said with a straight face.

“I hope.” Aqua said, before she was placed in different equipment to train her for the extreme conditions she would face.

The training was intense, and a few times Aqua even cried a little, but thankfully never got sick or fainted. She made it. She was going to be an “astro poketrainer.”

This chapter was based on a rumor from R/S/E that I sadly fell for years ago. I just had to write this. And I know I didn't go into too much detail. This is only pure fantasy anyway. Please comment and tell me what you think!!! I appreciate it.

Next Time:
"Oh....what do I tell Red? How will he take this news?" Aqua was worried. "Red, I have to tell you something in the next chapter."

Thanks for the review, and every comment helps!
The next chapter will hopefully be up Friday night, as I have nothing else to do, and will want to get away from school work.

Haha at the 4th wall breaking. I love it. This is a fun read. Very enjoyable. I especially love the style of your dialog, I can really imagine the characters saying what they are saying.

Great fic eevee, perhaps you'd have a chance to check mine out too?

Oh my Arceus! I did not realize I was breaking the 4th wall:/
Thanks so much for the reviews! You made eevee happy:)

And I'll take a look at your fanfic, Legacy.

I must have missed the 4th wall shatterage. Regardless, I'm liking the fic so far, eevee. :D

It's Friday, so here it is like I said. In this chapter keep in mind that Aqua and Red's emotions are running wild. And if you don't know, Red is Pokemon Master Red. You know, from the games/manga. I got rid of Yellow.(girl from manga.)XD

Eevee likes comments:)

Chapter 4- I Have To Tell You Something!

As Aqua collapsed into bed that night in the space center, she was the most thrilled, and scared she had ever been in her life. In just a few days, she would go where really no Pokémon trainer has dared to go. She wanted to tell Red, but felt it would frighten him too much. But she had to tell him something, or he would worry why all the calls and texts stopped. She came to conclusion that she would just send a text message. Aqua picked up her phone, and texted “Going into space in the next few days. See you in around two weeks.”

It was not five minutes before Red called her. She saw his number on the phone and was afraid to answer, but she had too. “Aqua, what do you mean going into space?”

“Nothing.” Aqua quickly said.

“Tell me!” Red cried.

“Well it started with a run in with Team Magma, and of course I saved the day. Now I have the chance to see Deoxys, the Pokémon that’s in space.” Aqua said weakly.

“WHAT? You’re not really doing what I think you mean by that…?” Red was stunned.

“Yeah, sorry I have to worry you.” Aqua was frightened herself. “But I have to go for all Pokémon trainers.”

There was silence for a few moments. Finally Red told her “Please don’t get killed.”

“I won’t.” Aqua was not completely sure of that statement.

“This will be the most dangerous, but brave thing you have done so far; besides breaking into Team Rocket’s hideout all those years ago.” Red recalled.

Aqua closed her eyes for a minute as to think. “I’ll never forget that day. It was the day you and I met.”

“Yeah, I’ll never forget it either; and the fact that I saved you.” Red added.

Aqua laughed slightly, and then she remembered why they were really talking. “Red, I’m scared.”

“I just can believe this is happening, that you got this chance.” Red told her.

“Do you think you can leave Mt. Silver for a while to come say goodbye?” Aqua was scared.

“Yeah, I’ll be there.” Red did not want Aqua to leave without knowing he cared.

“Thanks, Red.” Aqua said almost crying. “Do you think I can do it? Do you think I can battle up there and catch Deoxys?”

“Knowing you, Aqua, you can do anything.” Red was serious. He remembered how she gained Lugia’s trust by not doing much just a few weeks ago.

“But time is very different!” Aqua was scared. She didn’t want to mess up, being almost a Pokémon master. She knew it would be hard, and that she would risk her life.

“Aqua, be brave! I’ll fly there on Charizard the day after tomorrow to say goodbye in person.” Red did not want her to lose sleep over it. He knew everything would probably be fine knowing Aqua, but that didn’t mean he was not worried.

Aqua took a deep breath. “Thanks, Red. I love you.”

“Love you too. Why do you think I’d even care about what you’re getting yourself into?” Red exclaimed to Aqua.

“It’s late.” Aqua noticed it was past midnight. She knew she had to get up early. “Good night, Red.”

“Good night, Aqua.”

Aqua put her phone on a side table next to the bed. She then rolled over to look at Vee sleeping peacefully next to her. “I’m gonna be an astro poketrainer.” She quietly squealed, so she wouldn’t wake him. Her emotions were running wild.

Over in Johto, Red was thinking deeply about something else now. “If she goes through with this and is successful, then it’s time.” Red was thinking to himself. “Time to test her dream, that I’m living.”

NEXT TIME:
Training, training, training. "I'm not a pokemon!" Aqua yells.
"Wait! Soon I'll be..." Aqua realized it was almost time.

P.S.- My hopes for an Aquamarine Version were shot today:/

NOOO! How can she go into space? Of course, this is the queen of paranoia talking, so I could never do what Aqua is doing. I'd be up in space freaking out over the possibility of the ship breaking or running out of oxygen or something...
