- - will we get more of these in future?

- - is leech seed a potential candidate for trapping becuse its similar to fire spin, investation and whirlpool?

- - will we get abilities and moves to counter these?:

- -Rapid spin removes already some of them maybe Gyroball, Twister and some others could too?

- - could Magician give back the oponent his trapping moves? send them back to the sender? or a new ability for this?

- a new ability making the user trap-proof also from the binding and damage? for a non ghost type?

- a new counter ability to causes the user to do extra damage every turn to the oponent while beeing under the traping effect of its oponent move or ability and traping him in the return ? (could be for a electric, poison, ghost, fairy pokemon )

-will we get some kind of move to "trap" ghost type pokemon that are normally immune to trapping? even for some amount of turns? maybe 2 ? psychic? fairy? steel (iron is said to trap ghost, mirrors too)? ghost?
could Fairy Lock be counted?

if a ghost type uses a ghost type move like mean look on a ghost type should it get trapped depending on level and speed ? or should it if a psychic type does thesame on it?

The only thing that's similar about it is that it does damage over time. Everything else about the moves are pretty different:
  • Partial trapping moves have a turn limit, Leech Seed lasts indefinitely
  • Partial trapping moves deal 1/16th of the target's health (unless the user is holding a Binding Band), Leech Seed deals 1/8th
  • Leech Seed heals the user, partial trapping moves do not
Leech Seed trapping the target would make it too powerful-there would be endless damage on the target until they fainted, while the user constantly healed.

Do we really need them? Their base power is usually 35-Tackle's is 40. They're not exactly overpowering the meta here.

Mean Look is Normal-type, not Ghost-type.
or should it if a psychic type does thesame on it?
Psychic is weak to Ghost. The turn used to trap the Ghost-type could be the same turn the Ghost-type takes them-better to make a defensive move or try to take out the Ghost-type rather than waste a turn trapping it.

Its grass type, the turn limit can be let open.
What if it always dissapers after a pokemon faints, you always need a turn to use it again.
That makes a turn without healing.
Or if a ghost type escapes or if somethig destroys it or is defoged...
what is the succes rate of it again? 90%?

Plus some abilities like armors, shields in their names theoretically should protect other pokemon from it's effects or activation.

But they work multiple turns in wchich you can use other moves when the oponent is trapped.
Fire spin, Whirlpool, Sand Tomb, Clamp, Wrap, Bind and others.
Imagine if Delphox Magcian ability not only steel items but could make whirlpool send back to the oponent or take the oponents Reflect or Light Screen.
There are not only trapping moves.
Shadow tag, arena trap, maybe not magnet pull(this needs a buff, only traps steel types)

thats why I suggested also Fairy Lock before. Maybe Psychic terrain could do that also with ghosts with levitate? or one of the room moves?

Also we would require more new switching user/oponent moves.
U-turn, Baton Pass, Volt-Switch, Roar, Whirlwind, Dragontail, Circle Throw are not so much.
Plus psychic, ghost could get sound moves for that.

The type has no effect on how much damage it deals.

Yes, one turn without healing after many more turns with healing. I'm sure that'll counter it entirely.
But they work multiple turns in wchich you can use other moves when the oponent is trapped.
And your opponent can use moves, too. They're trapped from switching, not from performing any actions.

Yes, I'm well aware these exist. Why are you bringing them up?

had in mind that grass has more problems already then other types. Maybe make Leech seed only work on that poke that the seed is on, trap it for the first and second turn like fairy lock , get neutralized if it switches, but by switching it could take more hp then normally.

arena trap caused one pokemon to get smogon banned.

If Leech Seed gets neutralized by switching, how is it supposed to take more HP?

Arena Trap is an ability that is constantly in effect, and takes up no move slots. Partial trapping moves take a move slot and last for a maximum of five turns. They're not as powerful as the ability.

If Leech Seed gets neutralized by switching, how is it supposed to take more HP?

when the switch would occur the leech seed would come back to user and before the oponents switches takes double the amount like normally.

Rough skin, Iron Barbs are a good strategy against Bind, Clamp, Wrap users.

Why not create new ways to nerf some other trappers?

a ability that could half oponents hp when he tries to trap a pokemon with this new ability?
