So I've been trying to build a new team because I feel like my current Singles team isn't too good...this
If moves are suggested that can only be obtained via Gen V tutors I won't even be considering them because I don't have the patience/means to breed in Gen V

greninja.gif

Greninja @ Life Orb
Ability: Protean
Timid Nature
EVs: 4HP / 252SpAtk / 252Spd
~Hydro Pump
~Dark Pulse
~Ice Beam
~Extrasensory

Greninja's easily my favorite competitive Water-Pokemon and it's my main coverage pokemon.

sylveon.gif

Sylveon @ Light Clay
Ability: Cute Charm
Modest Nature
EVs: 252HP / 252Def / 4 SpDef
~Draining Kiss
~Shadow Ball
~Light Screen
~Reflect

Sylveon's one of my favorite new pokemon and this one's shiny so hey Shiny Screener with DK for recovery?

ferrothorn.gif

Ferrothorn @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Iron Barbs
Relaxed Nature
EVs: 252HP / 48Def / 208SpDef
~Gyro Ball
~Leech Seed
~Power Whip
~Stealth Rock

It's the Ferrothorn I used on my last Singles team since a Ferrothorn was suggested.

dragonite.gif

Dragonite @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Multiscale
Adamant Nature
EVs: 4 Hp / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
~Dragon Dance
~Dragon Claw
~Extreme Speed
~Earthquake

I wanted a dragon that wasn't Charizard X and you guys suggested this guy

excadrill.gif

Excadrill @ Air Balloon
Ability: Mold Breaker
Adamant Nature
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
~Swords Dance
~Earthquake
~Rapid Spin
~Rock Slide/Shadow Claw

lucario-mega.gif

Lucario @ Lucarionite
Ability: Steadfast/Adaptability
Timid Nature
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
~Nasty Plot
~Aura Sphere
~Flash Cannon
~Vacuum Wave

Heyy I wanted a mega evolution and Kangaskhan destroyer so here it is

Honestly that's all I've picked out for my team and this is what I'm looking for in the rest of my team
  • Destroying Kangaskhans because they're my least favorite thing to fight in Battle Spot
  • Complimenting/supporting the two I have so far

I really appreciate any help you can offer!

greninja.gif

Greninja (M) Dororo
Ability: Protean
Timid Nature
Item: Expert Belt
EVs: 4HP/252SpAtk/252Spd
IVs: 31/?/?/31/?/?
~Hydro Pump
~Dark Pulse
~Ice Beam
~Spikes

Greninja's easily my favorite competitive Water-Pokemon and it's my main coverage pokemon. Spikes is there for the occasional Electric-type

Life Orb 4 Attack. Spikes is useless on Greninja. Go Extrasensory for the 4th move. If your run into Baton Pass trouble drop Extrasensory for Mist.

sylveon.gif

Kanji (M) Sylveon
Ability: Pixilate
Modest Nature
Item: ???
EVs: ??/??/??
IVs: 31/x/31/31/31/31
~Moonblast?
~Swift/Round?
~Shadow Ball?
~???
(HP is Dragon)

Sylveon's one of my favorite new pokemon and this one's shiny so I can't get any egg moves because someone worked really damn hard to get me this one

If you're not gonna breed in Gen 5 then Sylveon has to be a Screen setter. No reason to be an attacker.

If you want help with M-Kanga then go with M-Blaziken or M-Lucario.

Ferrothorn and a Dragon type. Rocky Helm Ferro helps with Kanga and Ferro/Sylveon/Dragon makes a Dragon/Fairy/Steel defensive core.

I updated the OP with the addition of my pre-existing Ferrothorn, hopefully that's a good set?

as for Dragons, would Garchomp be a viable option?

I'm sure that that's supposed to say 48 Def because you're going over the EV limit :p

Garchomp is decent but a more defensive choice like bulky Charizard X might be even better because it is a defensive core primarily, not offensive.

If you wanted to use a different Mega I'd recommend AV/WP Dragonite or Latias as a defensive Dragon.

Alright, I added my pre-existing Charizard and I'll just link over to my current Singles team and let you decide what should stay and who should go to make room for Sylveon and any other newcomers

http://bmgf.bulbagarden.net/f518/b-team-rmt-161256/

Or hey I could give that Dragonite a chance. How does this look?

??? (?) Dragonite
Ability: Multiscale
Adamant/Jolly Nature
Item: Weakness Policy
EVs: 4HP / 252Atk / 252Spd
~Dragon Dance
~Dragon Claw
~Fire Punch
~Thunderpunch

D-Knight (M) Dragonite
Ability: Multiscale
Nature: Adamant
Item: Weakness Policy
EVs: 4 Hp / 252 Attk / 252 Spe
~Dragon Dance
~Dragon Claw / Outrage
~Extreme Speed
~Earthquake

This set shud work for you. And whenever you run this set on Dragonite, always run a spinner or defogger. It's Multiscale will be broken and wont be able to proc its' weakness policy.
For me I favor the Choice Band Set more, tho, either set will work fine.

And if you prefer a bulkier set there's always CBBnite, but that typically works better on full stall or semi-stall:

Dragonite @ Leftovers
Multiscale
Adamant
216 HP/64 Atk/228 SDef
~Roost
~Dragon Claw
~Earthquake
~Extreme Speed

Okay so how does this look for a spinner?

Forrettress @ Leftovers? (I'll give this to Drag if Drag gets WP)
Sturdy
Relaxed Nature
252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
~Rapid Spin
~Spikes
~Volt Switch
~Gyro Ball

Either that or

Excadrill @ Leftovers
Mold Breaker
Adamant Nature
176 HP / 60 Atk / 252 SpD / 20 Spe
~Rapid Spin
~Earthquake
~Swords Dance
~Rock Slide

I guess after this all I'd need is a Kangaskhan destroyer assuming I don't have one already who isn't sharing all their secrets with me

Go with Air Balloon Excadrill. Probably one of the best Spinners in the game tbh.

EDIT: also why all of the HP and SpD investment?

No idea, I just sort of grabbed that spread from Smogon :/

Also, I know we established I should go for a Screening set for Sylveon but what would that set be?
