Hey all,

This forum's getting a little crowded with HGSS topics, so I thought it'd be easier to lump all the discussion of how the GS remakes will affect the TV series in one thread.

So come here if you want to speculate about a Jouto Battle Frontier, characters' pokemon teams, upcoming plot points, or whatever else you can think of as it relates to HeartGold and SoulSilver.

My guess:
After Ash is done with the Sinnoh area (i.e. winnign the league, fighting the Elite 4, maybe even fighting Cynthia, and of course after Team Galactic has been dealt with) Cynthia will go to the Johto region for a bit and she’ll invite Ash and co to accompany her (and of course they’ll accept). This will offer them the perfect excuse to go back to a previous region for a bit.

I still doubt he would because he isn't going to get proof of a victory against them (They don't hand out badges or symbols). They're only showcasing them because elite 4 members are otherwise completely shafted.

Anyway, I still think it's far more likely that the Platinum Battle Frontier will be held in Jotho.

That was hinted a lot of times in DP like they never did before
And with Paul, it'd make sense to have the final league battle Ash VS Paul and let Ash win

I still doubt he would because he isn't going to get proof of a victory against them (They don't hand out badges or symbols). They're only showcasing them because elite 4 members are otherwise completely shafted.

It'd be no more than 10 episodes at best, not a whole journey so there's no reason for them to give him "badges"

Anyway, I still think it's far more likely that the Platinum Battle Frontier will be held in Jotho.

Obviously that is most likely to happen - but E4 and BF can't replace each other
BF = a whole journey
E4 = no more than 10 episodes

I agree unlike Gyms and Frontier Brains there is no reason why the E4 would not take place in the same "town." They are league officials and therefore should be challenged in a League officiated arena.

The only thing that would make sense for the E4 to be spaced out more than "10" episodes is they allowed Ash to travel with Dawn (training in the process) while Dawn can do contests.

There's also the point as to why would Sinnoh's Elite Four would be in Johto. If the anime is going to Johto without a shadow of a doubt it's because of the Battle Frontier not because of the Elite Four. At most after the league should Ash win, the Elite Four might take place on the island where the ribbon Syndicate, and Stark Mountain, because I still consider that part of Sinnoh (regardless of what the NPC's say).

Wait, so you suggest Ash and Dawn travel in Johto for Dawn's Contests while Ash don't do anything but "train" for the E4? I doubt it...
The most logical thing is to have 10 (or less) episodes E4 arc right after the league
And then we're on to Johto which can have either the Platinum BF or the possible new HGSS BF

You know what I'd really want the remake to bring to the anime? May! If Ash is still in Sinnoh while the remakes are released - wouldn't it make sense to give us at least one episode about May in Johto? they did make episodes for all MD games... I know unlike MD Johto can get into the regular anime anyway (Chikorita for Dawn, just focus on Johto Poké, Jasmine, and so on) but it's still a nice excuse to show us May for a little...

They could if they wanted, made it so we see May's Grand Festival, they could either temporarily visit Johto for a break from Sinnoh or maybe we could watch most of the Grand Festival on television. While Ash, Brock, and Dawn comment. Of course if they do the "TV" thing I doubt it would be more than one or two episodes. The again they could just show us May's team while showing May's final Johto Grand Festival battle.


Edit Crap I screwed up I accidentally edited over my previous post. But as I was trying to say. Johto would only take place for Ash's Frontier Battles, and Dawn's contests not either or. And I was saying the "Sinnoh Island itself" would have contests and the ribbon syndicate would be the Grand Festival.

What makes you think that Marina is going to appear at all? Much less make her look like the HGSS girl?

And a lot of people believe the new girl is actually a redesigned Marina
I don't think new girl is supposed to be a heavily redesigned Marina... so I don't think Marina would look like her if she ever appear again
But since they chose not to include Marina - I doubt she'll appear again... I guess she won't even get cameos now

They've already established her as a Top Coordinator. There would be no point to develop her since she's already reached the peak of her development.

Generally, when a character's signature/starter Pokémon reaches it's fully evolved form, it usually means that the character has reached his or her full potential. They may get cameos now and again, but that's pretty much it otherwise.

Jessie's hair randomly changed from red to purple... and I think people said Misty's eyes also changed from blue to green or vise verse (I don't get why the move to digital changed these colors...)

If they remember her inital goal to be a Champion like Lance, then it could actually be nice to have her appear as an idol to both Ash and Dawn and both could learn from her... it could make for a nice episode or few

Oh yes, tell us these things like Heatran that have the ability to last 2 years? Tell us why they just can't do both a Johto BF and Elite 4.

I'm still guessing that they'll do both things, an Elite 4 and Johto Battle Frontier where Dawn can do contests in Johto. There's trinkets, and then there's storyline, I think one time the anime could do both.

What? Ash will obviously beat Paul in the league... and just like you can say "Ash can't beat Paul who couldn't beat Cynthia" then we can say that "Ash beat Brandon that Paul couldn't beat so Ash can beat these who Paul can't"
It's ridiculous to go by X didn't beat Y so X can't beat who Y lost to

Ash can beat the E4 (well, he can do whatever the writers would like him to do, no matter what some fans think about it)
The most logical and gradual improvement way to do it would be to let Ash beat the Sinnoh E4 but lose to Cynthia and then next gen beat the Champion too

I think Ash is going to beat Paul too. The whole point of this 6 on 6 match is so Ash gets a lost close to the league, they're not going to have him lose to Paul twice in a 6 on 6.

Of course I also feel as if Paul is going to leave the series after Sinnoh. His storyline seems to be coming to an end, I can only see Barry continuing because his father is Palmer.
