No matter how "girly" a Pokemon might look, you can't rule out the possibility that it could actually be a male. ^^o

When/if they do, I'd laugh if people still try to insist that Pikachu is female.

Then again, I don't really know why people do in the first place so whatever.

I mean, Greggle's bandages are so erratic you can't tell if the animators are using the male (lower bandages) or female (higher bandages).

Although, I wouldn't be surprised if they have a Pikachu with the female tail at some point.

Well, in continuity standards, you could easily argue the distinction from male and female differences is much like Galapagos evolution. That the genders evolved to look different, it can be categorized as Sinnoh exclusive (until they carry those differences further in future gen games), because when two groups of the same species are secluded from each other, they evolve in radically difference ways over great amounts of time.

So, all the Pikachu will "look alike" in all 1st-3rd gen environments (Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Orre, Fiore), and will have developed some distinct gender traits in Sinnoh.

So, even when compared to a Sinnoh!Pikachu, the split tail trait is not evidence of Pikachu being male. It just means it's not a Sinnoh!Pikachu, since that's not where it came from.

I remember that sprite but its been so long.

To me, Pikachu will always be a boy. Whenever Ash and Pikachu have a "kodak" moment, it resembles brotherly love, if you may.

I remember an old 4Kids song, that went like, "Pikachu your like no other, I choose you, because you are my brother"

But, it is just a song -.- still, I think Pika's a boy!

In one of the early AG fansubs by Excal they refer to Pikachuu as "him".

I've personally always seen Ash's Pikachu as male, just more of a personality thing really which isn't solid proof, but I can't see it being female myself XD

With me being both a Pikashipper, and huge fan of the dub, I've seen hints all over the place which would lead me to believe it's a female.

But, that's probably just me. ^^

Actually, that was a song made for Pokemon Kareokemon. It's on the Pokemon 3 soundtrack (and Totally Pokemon, I think). It was done by a group called Johto.

So the dub writers had absolutely nothing to do with that song, lol. XD

I think officially Pikachu has no gender. Ikoue Otani has said she doesn't know/hasn't decided, and I heard recently that Satoshi Tajiri has said something similar. If they don't know, then we can't know.

That said, I would guess Pikachu is a boy. It gives off that vibe. Plus, Mimirol looks way girly to me, and gender stereotyping tends to be pretty strong in the Pokemon themselves.

Even though I think Pikachu is male from the very beginning of anime, I strongly doubt writers let us ever know what gender Pikachu is and therefore what gender Mimirol is ;-)

Our little Pika-pal? Female? Not a chance. I've seen some Pokeshipping storys, and in most of them, Pikachu is refered to as female, but then again, they are fanfics. I personally believe he is male. Krazyshipping? Meowth is just gay. A gay bastard. Pikachu is sane, though. God, who the hell am I kidding? They're both gay to me!
