Hi this is my first thread, as usually any thread I go to start there is one that already exists, the only other thread I can find about the GS Ball is one asking for the artwork. This is a thread for a debate about it.

The GS Ball is one of the franchises most bizarre items, it is seen as an iconic symbol of Johto, and indeed Generation 2, thanks to its part in the anime, despite the fact, the writers want us to forget about it according to an interview with Masuda. Now with all the Kanto conflict, and Kris/New girl conflict, one of the points that has come us is that this is a GS remake, where everything will be retained, and even things from Crystal will be retained, for example Eugene, and possibly Kris. So do you think the GS Ball will appear in HGSS, and what will its purpose be? We all know its purpose in GSC, but will it be the same in HGSS, if it is included, and what will become of Celebi if it isn't?

If it's in it will be an event item (more than likely) to be placed in the Ilex Shrine, that will spawn Celebi what else would it do?

I thought about this for a while...

Okay, Oak's Parcel containis a "Custom Pokeball" that he ordered. Maybe when you see him at Mr. Pokemon's house, he gives it to you, noting that he got it three years ago and thinks it could be useful to you. Then, it sits until you use it on Ilex shrine sometime after E4 or something.
Possible, though unlikely.

The only reason I'm going to say no to that idea is because it would be more than highly unlikely that the rarest Pokemon of all would be in-game without an event

My guesses were 2 options. An event like they are doing today, handing out the Member's Card, but with the GS Ball, which like in Crystal, take to Ilex Shrine and fight Celebi, or they scrap the GS Ball, as it hasn't been mentioned and they want us to forget about it, and they just hand Celebi out as an Event.

Seriously, though. Who comes in to a thread just to say "Oh, hey. Here's a thread with a similar subject, but it's dead."

People who are tired of seeing a new thread every two weeks that asks "hay guyz wil red b in hgss" or "hay iz kanto in or wut?"

Let's get back on topic, all right? I think Ciaranite wants to actually talk about gs ball, not about crap.

The GS Ball will probaly be given away in a wi-fi event, like how the member card and secret key have been previously distrubuted. You will likely have to go to the Illex Forest, go to the shrine, and KABOOSH! Celebi will appear!

Hammer, here's you answer written in truth.

I'm sorry for "derailing the thread" again, but I feel this needs to be said.

Neither of your are mods, nor do you have any sort of power on this board.

Take the threads discussing a fun game aimed at children as they come, or just don't respond. Is it so hard? Not everyone sees every thread. Not everyone has the time to spend what appears to be nearly every waking moment on this board. Threads are gonna be repeated. So put up (your views on the subject noted in the first post) or shut up.

That's what I was thinking/hoping, but the GS Ball hasn't even been mentioned yet by an official source.

I would love for it to be included as an item in the vein of the Azure Flute and other such esteemed objects, if only for the idea that they finally give something of a damn about making Celebi even remotely potentially accessible in a legitimate manner.

Aaaaaaand... cut! There it is. proof that people on forums only respect the mods and not their fellow users, simply because the mods can ban and whatnot.

Ah well, I guess I'll have to listen to the newbies.

So, the GS Ball. Yeah. An item used to get Celebi.

So the only reason we need IT specifically is for nostalgia.

Off-topic: Martonimos, I thought you WERE a mod.

You can't get Celebi legitimately, or in any Game Location, so the only way is a straight download, or an event. Nothing to do with Nostalgia.

So why not make it a direct download? Why do you need the GS ball? You don't, not really. That's what Ryu's saying.

I think that it really depends on if they make Celebi a give-away or an event. If they just give him away, like with Jirachi, then they don't need the GS ball. If they make him an in-game pokemon, like Darkrai, then having the GS ball would make sense.

Giveaways are dull.

It would be simply more exciting if it was obtainable through GS Ball and thus catchable in the game, rather than just another giveaway.

Also, considering how underused GS Ball it, considering its anime pissage and the fact that it was Japan-only in Crystal, including it in HGSS would be a big improvement.

In other words, a method with plot is always better than direct download.

Also, Celebi is a heavily underused legendary in the games. It needs some more spotlight, something that lazy giveaways WON'T give him.

Yeah, but it doesn't have to be the GS ball itself used for the download. I hope it will be, of course; they brought back Eusine, Battle Tower, and other Crystal features, so why not?

I was also going to say they haven't distributed the Azure Flute or Oak's Letter yet, but apparently they did Oak's Letter just a few months ago. Looks like they finally remembered they had that, after all.
