Hello! I looked around and couldn't find any GTS (Global Trade Station) specific thread so I thought I would make one.

I have been seemingly using the GTS more and more recently especially since the Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver have been released.

Just for reference the Global Terminal is located in Jubilife City for players of Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum Versions. For those of you playing Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver Versions it can be found in Goldenrod City, just west of the Radio Tower.

As for the actual trades, I would suggest using this sort of form and filling it out as people could maybe search for your Pokemon and try to trade with you a bit quicker. Here is an example:

My Pokemon:
Jigglypuff, Female, Level 22
Asking for:
Clefairy, Any Gender, Any Level

You can omit anything, such as Gender if you want any Gender or you could just simply state, "Any Gender". In addition, since there is a new search function on Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver, you could state the location that you have registered for your game so people could find you even quicker.

Without further ado, here are my trades that I currently have up. I just recently started trading on my Pokemon Pearl Version and am trying to get on more often to trade on it.

I kind of like the GTS. It makes finding pokemon that I can't get in my game easily accessible.

My main gripe about it, however, is that there are too many people who make ridiculous offers over the ones that make fair ones. That is, asking for a level 100 Palkia to trade for a level 1 Meowth. :/
 
In my SS, I have currently a random Lv40 Relicanth♂ waiting to be traded for any Empoleon. Narrow your search to Finland -> West Finland to find me.
 
It really annoys me as well when people are asking for legendary Pokemon in return for such common Pokemon, such as say a Starly which can easily be found in the Sinnoh based games. It also is a pain that people can ask for impossible Pokemon as well such as a level 30 Empoleon which is technically impossible.

Pokemon Pearl Version
It looks as though my Nosepass ↔ Sceptile trade went through. The OT on the Sceptile is JOE, so if that is you shinycollector thanks a bunch! ^^

I placed another -Shiny- Male Nosepass that is currently Level 14 asking for a Male Blaziken in return. In addition, I attached a little gift which will hopefully help out. ;)
 
Once I put up a Female Cyndiquil, legit and hatched, asking for a Bulbasaur. I got a Bulbasaur, but guess the level and place of obtaining. Route 34 at level 12. D*** HACK.
 
So anyone got any tips on what to keep a backstock of for use when trading? I've noticed that Taillow and the Hitmon family make excellent trading fodder.

Those people might just be doing the trading evolution trick. I always put up my 'mons asking for a level 9 Gengar when I do the trick.

I got a Kabutops I'm fairly certain is hacked, but I just use it for breeding stock. So long as it you don't intend to use it in combat who cares if it's hacked?

I personally care. Luckily it wasn't my main starter and I can breed another one. The baby being female was just luck, as I only bred one.
 
yep. the treecko was a masuda method offspring from platinum.
i think the shiny nosepass trade you put up was done.
but on the bright side- i traded a prinplup for a pikachu which i traded for another shiny nosepass. any takers on the trade i offered.

I for one hate hacks more than anything else, and if I get one from GTS, it goes straight to my spare outgoing Pokémon box. The Pokémon being a hack indicates I just traded something I likely used my precious time for a click-catch-trade instant noodle Pokémon, which is not cool at all.

I usually just breed a crapload of starter Pokemon and trade them off. :B
 
yeah definitely starter pokemon & one-off's (spiritomb, riolu, etc) are worth breeding a box of just in case
 
You guys realize that there's a whole trade forum on this site, right? I know US does, because he's a mod there. Unless you want to gripe about the GTS (AND SWEET CHRIST I DO, WHY DOES EVERYBODY FROM JAPAN WANT THE MOST UNGODLY TRADES?!), why don't you just use that?

I think we can have a separate thread for GTS trades and stuff. For getting more Geonet locations (I'm not sure, Wi-Fi trades may get you those as well) and for just telling what you're offering to the world. It's not like I'd post a new offer thread of Relicanth <-> Empoleon to the offers section, because that trade isn't that important.
 
I find that Tauros makes pretty good trade fodder.

And my buddy got a level 75 Shiny Mewtwo for a level 33 Nidoqueen.

Best trade I ever got was a level 15 Delibird that I put up asking for a Dragonite, and, lo and behold, the next day, there it was.
