Gym Leader Tales​

Anyway this is my first ever RP that I'm doing and hopefully it will not be dead.

Story

Kanto was once a peaceful place after Team Rocket's plot failed by a young unknown trainer. However times changed and 10 years later, Team Rocket was back to reek havoc and chaos but this time for Hoenn which was somewhere they saw as a starting place to take control of the world. The first point of play was the take control of the Elite 4 and mold it to their own to create the Elite 5. They poached one Gym Leader from every region. They kept Koga from Kanto, Clair from Kanto, Flannery from Hoenn, Roark from Sinnoh and Skyla from Unova all specializing in their own types (Poison, Dragon, Fire, Rock and Flying respectively). It was easy to control Flannery, Roark and Skyla according to Koga and Clair as they were already agents of Team Rocket. Team Rocket run by a new leader made sure that the Elite 5 was to be placed in the Sevii Islands as well.

To make sure everything went smoothly they reshuffled the Gym Leaders. Firing the older ones and changing it around so Hoenn could have new Gym Leaders. The second act was to exile all previous Elite 4 members of Hoenn and replace the Gym leaders of the current Elite 5. However people soon became skeptical of Team Rocket's actions, so they had to win over the public with propaganda and peaceful tools which they managed to do successfully. Everything was going smoothly and it seemed by the public that Team Rocket was actually trying to do good rather than evil. However Hoenn needed new Gym Leaders and Skyla suggested a competition where the best of the best trainers who wanted to be a Gym Leader. The new mysterious leader of Team Rocket said to go with it and is hoping to use it to take control of the world.

So through many marketing gimmicks, Skyla and Roark announced that Sevii Islands will host the competition to find Hoenn's new Gym Leaders with absolute excitement buzzing around the 5 regions. You among many are joining the battle. To take the dream job and enjoy the perks. You will work with other Gym Leaders if you win. The competition will test many attributes related to being a Gym Leader. The 8 winners by rank will take their place as Gym Leaders and work day by day as you learn, battle trainers, travel, take part to help Team Rocket unaware and ignorant to their proper activities. As you progress the plot of Team Rocket's plans will become clearer but that is later.

What you'll do

Well firstly you compete in the competition, meet your competitors and strut your stuff. Naturally if we have more than 8 users then I will think of other plots for the others which will be very important. Then if you are a Gym Leader if you will do day to day activities, battle trainers, do publicity stuff, help Team Rocket unknowingly, travel, meet up with other Gym Leaders and so forth. I will take control of all the Elite 5 and the mysterious new leader. The plot will reach a point where a few things will happen that will lead to a massive event.

- No godmodding, bunnying, flaming and etc.

- Keep the romance at a suitable level (PG-13)
- Violence and language again PG-13
- If you are reserving state what type. I know I took 5 types away but there are another 12

Age: 18

Gender: Male

Appearance: Calvin has fair skin, golden-brown spiky hair, blue eyes, and a round face. He wears a blue hat with gray Pokeball symbol, blue sleeveless 6 pocket vest, gray long sleeve undershirt, blue gloves with gray fingers, blue cargo jeans, blue and gray backpack, and blue shoes with gray trim. Stands at 6'3" with an average build.

History: Calvin was born in Castelia City and lived there during the first few years of his life. Eventually, their parents began traveling the world with him, and he always had Pokemon around him. Being exposed to Pokemon so much made him want to be a Pokemon Trainer, and he eventually started befriending and catching Pokemon of his own. He did a lot of training and bonding with them, but never got to try and collect any badges, as they were always moving around. However, he was able to study a good deal. He found normal-types to be the most appealing, and began developing a training style for that type. When he realized the significance of his choice to train normal-types, He decided to become a normal-type Gym Leader. As such, he planned to teach Trainers about using abilities, and moves that affect abilities, to their advantage. He eventually gained an affinity for double battles, which he specializes in. Not long after he became a Gym Leader, he met a fellow rookie, Raven. She was a dark specialist, and became a rival to him, which proved mutually beneficial as they both kept improving.

Personality: Calvin is a very ambitious person. He strives to do his absolute best in any battle, but isn't concerned about winning all the time. He believes the only time you truly lose is when you don't try your hardest. He gets along well with most people, and cares a great deal about his friends to the point of doing anything for them.

Pokemon Team:

Chansey: The first Pokemon he caught. He met it as a Happiny, and trained it to take a support role in battles. Shortly after becoming a Gym Leader, she started showing a desire to evolve, so he found her an Oval Stone and let her evolve. She's typically his longest-lasting Pokemon in battle. Ability: Natural Cure
Moves: Wish, Heal Pulse, Heal Bell, Psychic

Porygon-Z: A Pokemon that he traded for, which he soon discovered was very strong. He typically uses it as a heavy offensive force, due to its powerful attacks. He values it greatly, though it doesn't seem to see its value on the team. Ability: Adaptability
Moves: Tri Attack, Lock-On, Zap Cannon, Dark Pulse

Slaking: The hidden powerhouse of the team. Calvin caught him during a trip through Petalburg Woods in Hoenn. He is typically used last, due to his destructive power and ability to end battles quick as a flash. Ability: Truant

Togekiss: Calvin's first Pokemon, hatched from an egg before he started his journey. She has been his partner throughout his career, and the two are inseparable. She is his most reliable Pokemon, and loves to battle. Ability: Serene Grace

Age: 19

Gender: Female

Appearance: Raven has a round face as she has yet to lose her baby fat, fair skin, long black straight hair that falls past her waist and is usually kept in a ponytail, and blue eyes. She stands at 5'5", and is fairly curvy. She is seen wearing a black short-sleeve blouse, black skirt, black leggings, and black ballerina shoes.

History: Raven lived her life as an antisocial person. She never played with or talked to people, mostly due to being shy. She also held contempt for them, since they were immature and ignorant about the world. She preferred to keep to herself and study about the world and Pokemon. She especially loved dark-types, since they fit her personality. When she became a Trainer, she worked toward becoming a Gym Leader. She wanted to teach Trainers to be ready for anything and everything the opposition throws at you. When she was finally able to become a Gym Leader, she met her first friend and rival in Calvin. The two kept each other on a constant improvement curve ever since.

Personality: Raven is a very reclusive person, shy and cold to most people she meets. If she deems someone worthy, she will eventually let up and show a more friendly side. To people she hates, she relentlessly torments them. She's basically a Tsundere type A.

Umbreon: Her first choice in battles. She obtained her as an Eevee, and raised her to befit her dark battling style. The two are good friends. Ability: Synchronize
Moves: Toxic, Taunt, Sucker Punch, Moonlight

Zoroark: Received as an egg from a friend. She is playful, and not in a good way. She likes to change form and play pranks on people that end up with someone getting hurt. In battle, she's likely to do a lot of damage. Ability: Illusion
Moves: Nasty Plot, Night Daze, Focus Blast, Extrasensory

Ninetales: Raven's secret weapon, and an unlikely one. Her docile disposition makes her seem like an easy opponent, but she's far from it. She was caught in a forest and raised to be a deadly Pokemon. Ability: Drought
Moves: Heat Wave, Toxic, Dark Pulse, Extrasensory

Shiftry: Her first Pokemon, and the one for which she is most notorious in battle. He is her strongest, and is capable of ending battles as quick as a flash. The two are inseparable, and are almost always seen together. Ability: Chlorophyll

Name: Jacob Kale

Age: 15

Gender: Male

Appearance: He stands at 5'1" and is of average build. He has red hair that hangs into his eyes, and wears glasses. His high cheekbones and square jaw make him look more serious than he really acts. He has freckles which are fairly hidden in the winter but show more in summer. He often wears simple t-shirts and shorts, but wears nice suits at special occasions. He doesn't usually wear hats because they make his scalp itch, but will wear a baseball cap in intense sunlight.

History: Hailing from Nuvema Town, he went on a journey in his home region of Unova after getting a sufficient education from home. He defeated all the Gym Leaders, but then disaster struck. At the Pokemon League, he chose to battle Caitlin first and was beaten quick as a flash. After that, he grew to resent Pokemon battling, which he did for a few years. He became very reclusive and lived off of berries and the money he won from defeating passersby in rigged games of chance. When he heard about the contest he started saving up money for the ferry to the Sevii Islands.

Personality: He is quiet but cheerful and happy. He enjoys telling and listening to jokes and stories and is very bookish. He is scared of snake Pokemon to the point that if he sees one, he will freeze in place and repeat "snake, snake, snake, snake" until his Pokemon manage to either calm him down or defeat it.

Pokemon Team: Mienshao: Jacob received her from his uncle as a Mienfoo. She is the ace up his sleeve, saved for the clutch times in battles.
Ability: Inner Focus; Moves: Force Palm, Hi Jump Kick, Aura Sphere, Drain Punch

Sawk: The first Pokemon he caught, and his lead in battle.
Ability: Sturdy; Moves: Double Kick, Low Sweep, Karate Chop, Brick Break

Throh: Sawk's half-brother. He started following Jacob around after Sawk was caught.

Gallade: A situational Pokemon used to counter Psychic- and Flying-types.

Here's my SU

Name: Junine Ikadoshi

Age: 17

Gender: Girl

Appearance: Long white hair wore down and purple eyes. She is average height at 5’5’’. She wears a green vest with a yellow hood over a black shirt with sleeves that extend to her elbows. She wears blue jeans and black sneakers. Around her neck is a gold reshiram shaped locket.

History: Junine grew up in Striaton City, Unova with her family living peacefully. When she was eight her brother found an egg and hatched it. The egg turned out to be a charmander and quickly evolved into a charizard. While it was friendly usually one day it turned on Junine and attacked her chasing her until she couldn’t run anymore. The charizard burned her upper left arm scarring it permanently. Before it could do anymore damage a snivy appeared and fought against the charizard the best it could, it’s back right leg being burned permanently. At last minute the two were saved by reshiram who knocked the charizard out. Her family caught up and put it in its pokeball. The snivy stayed with Junine afterwards and his younger sister, a tepig became the partner of Junine’s brother. At ten she left home with her snivy and traveled to become a top coordinator. While taking a break she decided to challenge the Unova league realizing her talent for battle. Hearing about the competition for new gym leaders in Hoenn she decided to become one and enter.

Personality: Junine is kind and caring, but is also harsh when teaching something or feeling someone is wrong. She’s not afraid to speak her mind, and fight for what she believes is right. She is confident in her pokemon’s abilities and trusts them completely. She is afraid of fire types, but can battle them minus Charizard and its pre-evolutions, the only three she can never be around. She is very knowledgeable about the different kinds of pokemon and what they can do. She fins Unova to be the most advanced region and looks down on the other ones technology wise, but still likes small towns finding them peacful. She loves to play her flute for wild pokemon.

Name: Akihiko Soul (Referred to as Soul)

Age: 15

Gender: Male.

Appearance: Soul has an innocent, child-like face with a small nose and a large, slightly disturbing, grin. His light brown eyes have a darting intensity and a glow like amber. His constant glaring look brings shivers down the spine of even his closest companions. He has spiky, crystal white hair with a single blue streak down the left hand side which moves almost like a wave as he walks. Soul is of a quite small stature, neither under or over weight. His wardrobe is quite dark, with his favorite choice of clothing being his black trousers with his long-sleeves black and red hooped shirt. Soul wears a studded black white bracelet around his left wrist and right ankle that he was given as a child. He never takes them off, similar to how he never removes his black studded earring on his right ear.

History: Soul was about and plain and normal as children get. He came from a wealthy background with his father one the director's board at Silph co and his mother working as a part time nurse at the Pokemon center. He was nearly largely exposed to Pokemon because he went to a traditional school, however one day he returned home to find that he had to move from his luxurious home in Cerulean City because it was thought to be inhabited by ghosts. With recent reports of accidents in Lavender tower nearby, caution was taken. Upon moving, Soul had the unfortunate experience of seeing a Shuppet appear in his luggage. After a confusing and scary first impression, Soul befriended the Pokemon in secret and decided to keep him as a pet at his new home in the quiet Pallet town. His time with Shuppet turned Soul into a lone wolf, he became obsessed with ghosts and he lost all interest in school or even other people. His parents soon found out about Soul's new friend, and Soul was forced to run away with Shuppet to Lavender Town, where Soul decided he would learn more about the various ghost type Pokemon that lurked there. After several days of very little food and only a corner of Lavender Tower to sleep in, Soul saw the advertisement for gym leaders and decided that it was his only option to keep going. Soul's time at Lavender Tower changed him greatly. He is now very distant from others and has lost the charming charisma of an innocent little schoolboy, only really wanting to talk about his new obsessive hobby. Soul's main friends are the various other ghost hunters at Lavender Tower, who he often likes to converse with given their similar interests.

Name: Vendetta (Shuppet)
Ability: Insomnia.
Gender: Male.
Moves: Shadow Ball, Will-O-Wisp, Trick Room, Shadow Sneak,
Other: Shuppet is Soul's very best friend. Before they met, Shuppet feared humans and used their homes as shelter, meaning no harm to them. Human's distaste for ghoost types gave Shuppet a sour opinion of them until he met Soul who has restored his trust.

Name: Fear (Dusclops)
Ability: Pressure.
Gender: Male.
Moves: Trick room, Mean Look, Fire Punch, Ice Punch.
Other: Fear was the first Pokemon Soul met in Lavender Tower. Soul attempted to catch the fearful ghost, but found himself getting giddy in the ever changing trick room and his Shuppet to be cowering from the scary Pokemon. This triggered Soul's love for Trick Room and after their battle, Fear decided to join the courageous teenager on his ventures.

Name: Shadow (Sableye)
Ability: Prankster.
Gender: Female.
Moves: Trick Room, Confuse Ray, Role Play, Shadow Claw.
Other:Soul finally reaches the top floor of Lavender Tower to find... a fearsome wispy dragon, larger than anything he'd ever seen. The arrogant child decides to battle it and after a blast from his Shuppet, the beast begins to fold in upon itself. What lay on the floor in front of Soul was a frail, fainted Sableye. As Soul chuckled at his previous trepidation at a weak Sableye, he felt a hand slip into his pocket...and his wallet fall out. He looks down again and the Sableye is gone. Luckily the Sableye couldn't actually go anywhere with the wallet, with the marvelous trick world removing all of the doors and pathways in the room. Soul eventually defeated the joker and got back his wallet and the laughable amount of money it held, taking Sableye along with him on his ventures.

Name: Snuggles (Wigglytuff)
Ability: Cute Charm.
Gender: Female.
Moves: Shadow Ball, Sing, Double Slap, ThunderPunch.
Other:Upon leaving for the gym challenge, Soul pitted his skills against travelers on the journey. His battling skills were clearly of a level way above his age, being able to perfectly use the Trick Room to leave an array of fighting, bug and grass types laying on the floor in utter confusion and fear. Often he won without having to attack, however, in Diglett Cave he found a traveler using a Wigglytuff and a Sneasel. Soul was bemused when his tricks didn't work on the dark type Pokemon, which tore through his team as quick as a flash, or that he couldn't even attack the foes Wigglytuff. After Soul was utterly embarrassed by the clearly experienced man, he told him of his hope to win the gym challenge. The old man had sympathy for the boy and saw talent and drive in him, so offered him one of his two Pokemon. Seeing that nothing he had could hit it, Soul was impressed by the hideously named Wigglytuff. The man gave it to him on two conditions, that he would learn that using just one type of Pokemon could not get him far and that everything had a weakness. The old man also stressed that under no conditions could he rename his beloved Wigglytuff.

Name: Jack Edmund

Age: 18

Gender: Male

Appearance: Jack has light blue eyes that are almost grey. He has black hair that isn’t short, but not long either. Jack wears a black suit with a white tie.

History: Jack and his younger brother lived in an abandoned house, due to their parents leaving them, for reasons unknown to them. Jack made sure to take care of his little brother, even at the expense of his own happiness, and lost out on many opportunities because of it. He loves his little brother, but resents other people in general because of their harsh living conditions. Jack decided to enter the competition to become a Hoenn Gym Leader because he figured it could help himself and his little brother.

Personality: Jack is quiet and indifferent to many things. He does have a short temper though. Jack’s also pretty blunt, and not afraid to say whatever comes to mind if he feels like it. Jack likes to hide his emotions overall. Jack doesn’t have an opinion on Pokemon themselves, but enjoys to battle with them. He may have a short temper, but most of the time he's calm and even a little cold. Jack doesn't have any feelings for Pokemon in general, but he does like little Pokemon a tiny bit.
