Hmm. do they dub the anime in Chinese?.. If they do dub it and the Chinese subtitles I've seen in an episode is accurate, then I think I can help you out with Brock's Chinese name...

Name.jpg

See the picture? The first two characters are "I'm called" and the next two are his name..,phonetically, it's Xiao Gung..
Of course, this may just be the subtitler's doing and may not have anytihng to do with his REAL Chinese name, but its' the cloest I can get XD

I laughed at that. Really, I did.

Never thought I'd live to see the day where a Pokemon character has the same name of one from Code: Lyoko...

I found on a site the Chinese names of Gold/Silver Gym Leaders.

Johto:
Falkner - 阿速 (A So)
Bugsy - 阿筆 (A Bi)
Whitney - 小茜 (Xiao Qean)
Morty - 松葉 (Song Zhe)
Chuck - 四島 (Si Dao)
Jasmine - 蜜柑 (Mi Gan)
Pryce - 柳伯 (Liu Ba)
Clair - 伊吹 (Yi Chui)

Elite:
Will - 五木 (Wo Mo)
Koga - 阿桔 (A Ju)
Bruno - 希巴 (Xi Ba)
Karen - 花梨 (Hua Li)
Lance - 渡 (Do)

Kanto:
Brock - 小剛 (Xiao Gang)
Misty - 小霞 (Xiao Xia)
Surge - 馬奇斯 (Ma Qi Si)
Erika - 艾莉嘉 (Ye Li Jia)
Sabrina - 娜姿 (No Zi)
Janine - 阿杏 (A Xeng)
Blaine - 夏伯 (Xea Bai)
Blue - 小緑 (Xiao Lou)
Red - 小紅 (Xiao Hong)

I wonder if they're official because most (if not all) of them are their Japanese names written in Kanji. But they can be official.

((Nod)) The Chinese names are official. Although Surge was called "馬志士" when I watched the Anime half a decade ago. Most probably it's the Taiwan and Hong Kong translation differences...

As for why I would know, because I (for real) lived in Hong Kong and know Chinese myself.

So, do you know the Chinese names of Hoenn leaders?

Since the PokeSpecials in HK is still in the Johto arc, and the Anime had stopped waaaaaaaay before the Johto arc (has Ash gone to Luana's? I don't think so). So I ended up looking up the Taiwan web:

Roxanne: 杜娟
Brawly: 藤樹
Wattson: 鐵旋
Flannery: 亞莎
Norman: 千里
Winona: 娜琪

...But either Taiwan hasn't broadcasted that far yet (not likely), or the website hasn't been updated, that's all I could find...Let's just say I feel REALLY sorry for the Gym Leaders who got their names translated...

What are the romanisations of the names? I recognise "sen" in Norman's, unless that character is read differently in Chinese...

Oops

((Eyes twitching)) That's why I HATE the Chinese translation...I would rather have them translate the meanings, not the phonetics of their names... ((Starts hunting for the soul who translated Asuna's and Nagi's names))

I found Chinese Names of Tate & Liza and Juan.

Tate & Liza: 小楓&小蘭 (Xiao Feng & Xiao Lan)
Juan: 阿當 (A Dang)
