Technology keeps on developing at an astonishing rate, closing the gap between humans and pokémon more and more. Though along with that development comes mysteries. Children from the ages of ten to eighteen have vanished without a trace. Why? Because they make the most viable subjects. The Half-Project is a secret group that has been kidnapping these children and injecting them with pokémon DNA. While some die from this, those who survive are no longer human, but rather half human, half pokémon, dubbed merges by the scientists. Those who survive are tossed in cages to be studied.

The Half Project consist of three different occupations:
Hunters-They are the ones who find children and capture them. They also hunt down any escapees. They never kill as the merges and children are too precious to lose. They know how to fight well.
Scientists-They perform the experiments and do the choosing. They accompany hunters since they happen to know your weaknesses and histories. They aren’t particularly the best fighters like hunters, but can if necessary.
Grunts-They do the grunt work. Enough said.

Merges-They can use any of the moves that their pokémon half can. They can transform into their original human forms for an hour every few hours. However one hit ruins this, and being out in bright sunlight decreases the time.

Name: Knight Inukai
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Which pokémon you are merged with: Arcanine
Appearance before merge: Knight had short messy brown hair and matching brown eyes. He was quite tall already reaching six foot, and had a nice sturdy build.
Appearance after merge: Now his hair is the mane of an arcanine, and his mouth is its muzzle. Like an arcanine he has sharp teeth, especially his canines. He has the tail of one as well, and his finger nails have grown to be like claws. Arcanine’s stripe pattern covers his body.

Personality: Knight acts like his name as well as what he was merged with. He is loyal and protective of his loves ones, as well as courageous, not afraid of anything except himself. He is kind and gentle, and mostly calm. He doesn’t hide his emotions though and will be honest with you most of the time. He is polite, assuming the person isn’t an enemy. However he has a sadistic rude streak when fighting, which can lead to him accidentally hurting his comrades.

History: Knight’s father was a dead beat that left him before he was born. This left the young boy in the care of his mother until he was eight. She was a good mother, and person, but life was unfair as she was taken by cancer. This left him in an orphanage due to no other living relatives. It wasn’t the best place, and he constantly had trouble with the superiors. But the other kids loved him. For some reason he was the oldest and thus became like a big brother to them all. He was always taking care of them, and making the place as good for them as he could. He also would steal bits of money from the superiors, saving it for when he would turn eighteen in hopes of being able to adopt all the other kids and have a way to support them. However like his mother, life was unfair to him and he ended up being screwed over. Hunters captured him, and he was taken to become a merge. Being a success he was placed in a cage.
Flaw: He has a harsh sadistic side while fighting that can make him lose sight of who is an ally, as well as lead him to being distracted in a fight.
Other: He has the senses of an arcanine. He can run fast on all fours, though he prefers to do it on two.

Name: Tabitha "Tabbi" Yochum

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Which pokémon you are merged with: Houndoom

Appearance before merge: Tabbi was originally a tall girl, with tanned skin and hazel eyes. She had dark brunette hair with a red tinge to it, and often wore hoodies and jeans. Underneath said hoodie would usually be a t-shirt with a band logo upon it, or something of the like. She also wore a necklace and several bracelets her mother gave her as a younger kid.

Appearance after merge: Tabbi now has large ivory horns curling back from her head. Her eyes have turned crimson, and she now has a Houndoom tail. She also has an external ribcage, with the first set of ribs connecting to form a necklace at the base of her collarbone. A narrow glare is permanently set upon her features - lastly, her teeth have become razor sharp, as the four most prominent canine teeth are visible when her mouth is closed; Her tongue has become much longer, like a dog's.

Personality: Tabbi is not the best liar. She is rather honest with those around her; she sees the world, much to some's dismay, in a distinct black and white manner. She can be fiercely loyal to her friends and family, while she's plenty dangerous for her enemies. She can be a bit of a rebel, having been one to play with fire at an early age. Tabbi dislikes water, and loathes the company of conceited people.

History: Tabbi was left to live in only the company of her mother, growing up most her life without a fatherly figure. The two of them lived on a seaside cottage along the beach, in which Tabbi would spend all day playing outside with some of the local Pokemon. Around the age of 14, her mother had passed away due to illness, so Tabbi had been left alone to provide for herself. At 17, she was kidnapped after walking along the beach one night by someone she couldn't identify.

Flaw: Her emotions can easily get the better of her; because of this, she can grow out of control. As a result, her own emotions are her weakness.

Name: Alexandre "Alex" Avalon

Age: 18

Gender: Male

Species: Aegislash

Appearance before Merge: Before undergoing the Merge, Alexandre stood at about 5'9" and weighed roughly 150 lbs., with crimson hair and green eyes. He preferred to wear black, white, or gray t-shirts (or collared shirts while at school) with khaki pants and silver running shoes. He also carried a red backpack.

Appearance after Merge: Alex now weighs about 160 lbs., with a height of 5'11". He has jet black hair and gold-colored eyes that emit a shiny gleam. He has black fingernails with shiny red cuticles that he can use to deal extreme damage. His pupils are like mirrors (not from his corneas reflecting some small fraction of the light that hits them, but due to the fact that his retinas are now made of metal). He carries a metal shield identical to that of a shiny Aegislash wherever he goes. He's tried abandoning it, but, whenever he does, it appears on his back again in a matter of a couple minutes. He wears the same clothes as before; he wore a shiny, dark gray t-shirt when he was kidnapped.

Personality: Alexandre has a strong definition for right and wrong. He considers himself a repulsive sinner, and hopes to do whatever good he can, even if his efforts are futile, without any concern for others' recognition. He used to have goals in life; he wanted to be a doctor, although every reason he had to hope vanished after he was kidnapped. Now, all he wants is to keep the people he knows safe.

History: Alexandre was born and raised in Camphrier Town. He never did much with his life. He had a Lucario with a Mega Ring and both their respective Mega Stones, which were put under his charge by his paternal grandfather shortly before he passed away. He had other Pokémon, although he never cared to battle alongside any of them. He was an only child, although he had a few cousins he hung out with. He was quite close with his friends from his hometown. He was no savant in his childhood, although he always did exceptionally well in science and mathematics classes.

Flaw: To say he's heavily devoted to his morals is an understatement. He'd never allow others to be harmed on his account, no matter what the actual consequences are (although he is a combat pragmatist who only follows rules as he desires for others' benefit; as he deems fit). This makes him easy to exploit by those who follow his laws.
