For all you J.R.R Tolkien fans out there:

Is anyone else super excited about The Hobbit movie? Or should I say both movies..it was recently announced that the movie (The upcoming prequel to Lord of the Rings) would be made into two parts; part one being An Unexpected Journey and part two being There and Back Again. Part one will be released on December 14, 2012 and part 2 will be released on December 13, 2013.

I'm very much looking forward to it.
Also, it seems that Part 1 is being released on my birthday.

Wasn't this announced ages ago?

I really like that they decided to stick to the book 100%, even though they only did it because they couldn't get the rights to the other books, such as The Silmarillion.

i was worried that this these films wouldn't be good for some reason (and I'm a huge Tolkien and Jackson fan) but after watching the video blogs and reading more about it, I'm confident that PJ will not let fans or Tolkien down. very excited for these films.

Yeah, it was, but no one had posted about it so I thought I would.

Same, but I really do think they're going to be great. Let's hope so at least.

Wow I didn't know that release dates were already set! Thanks for the info, i'm really looking forward to these movies.

Peter Jackson blew my mind away with the LOTR movies. The possibility that these movies could be disappointing never crossed my mind.
