What, precisely, is the context behind Dawnpoke/Slowdawn, as pictured below? Have I missed the episode she/it appears in? Because it's been bugging me hella.

I've been attempting to contextualize her as a low-level version of Dawn, dividing Dawn into three power levels:

SlowDawn,
StanDawn Issue, and
MegaloDawn,
as depicted.

What's the story, Acacia Meiantha?
 
My best online friend, Moya, drew that third picture. She was going for a differant perspective when she drew it and she loved Dawn, so she drew Dawn from a looking up perspective.

Anyway, the Slowpoke!Dawn image is from DP026 where Ash and co met Dawn's childhood friend Kengo, who looooved to tease Dawn about embarrassing moments she had in her childhood, one being her dressed up as a Slowpoke in a play where she suddenly sneezed, fell down and began to cry.
 
Thus continuing the tradition of the female co-ordinator having a really really lame "embarrassing" story in her childhood that causes everyone who hears it to crack up even though it isn't even a tiny bit funny.
 
But we get to see the girls in chibi form, which makes it all worthwhile.

I still wanna know what embarrasses Hikari so much regarding the reason she's called "Pikari".
It better be hilarious.

I dunno... I was gonna disagree with you, but look at that thing (that thing being Dawnpoke). That is a thing of great terror.
 
I wonder how Pikari is going to be translated? We'll find out.

Isn't it just typical that it seems to be related to Pikachu of all things? Not only is it blatant Pikachu-whoring once again, but it gives a new excuse for Pearlshippers to run wild because Dawn somehow is linked to the Pikachu species, even if it was something embarrassing, and Ash has a Pikachu then woah shit, they're meant to be!

...

I'm overanalyzing.
