A while back, I started a thread for the general purpose of bitching about how all these nineties combacks generally suck, and there ended up being more reminiscing than bitching. So I'm starting this thread. If you have any pleasant memories from your misspent childhoods, feel free to share them with the class.
My favorite thing from the nineties? A weird cartoon called Princess Guinivere and the Jewel Riders. It was basically American-made magical girl anime, and it had talking unicorns. And weasels. And it rocked. They made a bunch of dolls and unicorns for them to ride, and they sold the crap out of them (I have a nearly complete collection).
Does anyone else remember this show? I can't have been the only one who watched this...

My favorite thing from the 90s is 'The X-Files.' It was possibly the best conceived and executed show on television. And let's just all pretend the aberrant 9th season didn't happen. My second favorite thing? "ER."

I never watched Princess Gwenivere I use to think it was a Sailor Moon ripoff back then.

I like a lot of things from the 90s. I think my favorite things are Sailor Moon and No Doubt. There's a lot more things I like. I can't say I liked all the 80s because I wasn't alive for the whole decade.

I know I watched it as well, but I don't remember anything about it at all.

I used to watch a show called The Operation. (Guess what it was about!) Then there was Wild Discovery, with its funny intro song and animals migrating and eating each other/being eaten. I lixe aminoles.
Then came Pokémon, a(n odd) light in a deep darkness....

I seem to really like a lot of things from 1992-1994. I was 10-12 years old then, so I was basically a preteen. There may have been something to that, but I haven't proven it yet. I don't know why, but this time frame makes me think of that Crystal Pepsi ad with that "Right Now" song. I think this was also the time frame in which they brought back Cherry Coke and had it with those Sonic Shuttle things. This is also the time frame in which I first got my Genesis and was introduced to Sonic. Good music, good cartoons, maybe even a few good sitcoms, too. This was also the time of great Disney animated films like Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and The Lion King. This was the greatest time of my life. I cannot believe that this was more than 10 years ago by now.

It was. But does Sailor Moon have talking unicorns and weasels... I think not. I wonder if you can get the VHS tapes on the internet.. The local Blockbuster has some, I think.

Actually Sailor Moon does have a talking unicorn in the Supers season. By the time that show came out I was all "rangered" out. The truth is I thought Sailor Moon was a Power Rangers ripoff.:dodgy:

Ack, a Power Rangers ripoff? XD

I went to a book fair this weekend, and I saw a ton of old books that I loved. The Babysitters' Club and the Sweet Valley High series were my favorites.

ahh princess guinivere. my little sister liked that show and she was only 4 or 5 so we had to watch it over and over again. i can remember the theme song too. i really liked the power rangers, and the x-files. also my little brother who is now 17 and taller than me, liked Heroes on Hot Wheels. I also liked my little pony, and care bears.

Like I said, I still have the dolls.. I wouldn't ever sell them or get rid of them. At least I'm not the only one who's heard of it.
Another nineties goodie? Monster Rancher. Eee, Genki was my first anime crush.

Mmmm Cherry Coke.. great now I'm thirsty. *goes downstairs for the personal stash of cough, coca cola cherry*

Anyway my fav show from the nineties was a computer animated show called ReBoot. They showed it on Citv in England, but it got cancelled because of complaints, and I haven't seen it on TV since. The series was just getting interesting, and it left us on a cliffhanger. Did anybody else watch this?

They aren't. Actually, they both predate Pokemon. Monster Rancher was a cult favorite PS1 and Dreamcast RPG (the Dreamcast version you actually could put random CDs and DVDs in to unlock monsters) and they're still coming out with new installments every so often. Digimon began life as a Tamagotchi spinoff- you could raise your Digimon and battle them with others by linking them up. Although the Digimon battles were purely random.
EDIT: I watched ReBoot. Yeah, it was pretty controversial- by 1996 standards, it was pretty violent.

Yes, I watched most of the first and second seasons of ReBoot. I've rented a few of the later iterations of the show from Netflix, and you should be able to find those in the U.K. as well.

Yeah I managed to get my hands on Season Four on dvd, and I got copies of Season Three from Ebay. Of course the rest of the season was downloaded for me by a friend, so I have the whole lot now :)

I may be 'showing my age' here, lol, but as far as I can remember, I used to at one point or another (or rarely still watch) these shows on TV (in no particular order):

Animaniacs
Sailor Moon (probably the first anime I ever watched)
Pokemon (still watch the movies to this day)
Super Dave (he was awesome! And very funny too. I loved that sketch where he was on top of a bus playing a white upright piano, and he gets hit by the top entrance wall of a tunnel. Oh how I wish I could see that again)
Biker Mice from Mars (or something like that....rarely ever watched)
Looney Toons
Gargoyles
Power Rangers (for a while)
Goof Troop
Beasties (a.k.a. Beast Wars (US title))
ReBoot

...and a few others which I can't remember the titles to, especially some YTV Canada shows

And I saw these movies in the theatre in the last decade (but not limited to):

The Lion King
Ferngully: The Last Rainforest
Casper

Goof Troop... Squee.
Yeah, I loved the old Disney cartoons.
And Recess.
Anyone else here a Recess fan?
