The Johto Grand Festival?

Okay I want to write a one shot -slash- story on the Johto grand festival but I need some details to add to it including a winner. This is the only thing that I have managed to put together:

- You can participate as many times as you like. However you can only take home the ribbon cup 3 times.

- It's a formal affair for the festival but the contests through out the region you can wear your normal clothes.

- You use 2 pokemon during the battles and can replace them during any part of the battle. You may aslo be allowed to use at the most 2 pokemon during the appeals.

Well I wanted to add one more rule and I need a winner and I really don't know who. I have these people participating: May, Drew, Harley, Solidad, Kelly, Anthony, Timmy, and Grace with my OC named Kelsie

Well, Marina is a native to Johto and a coordinator to boot so you may add her as well. Also, don't let your OC win, there's not much space for characterization in a short story like the one you are planning so the readers will probably scream Mary Sue, regardless if they are right or not. You can easily make her the POV character but just let her lose at some point later on and then just observe how the one that beat her handles the rest of the competition or something. And be very careful what Pokémon you give your OC.

Since Solidad is the really experienced/talented one, she should win the GF. However she doesn't have to completely sweep her opponents. Make her final battle a really tough one/down to the wire.

Hmm I haven't watched the episode with Marina I might consider her. How strong would she be compared to the rest of the characters I have participating?
