It was a beautiful morning in Littleroot town of Hoenn. Here, where trainers who would set out to conquer the Pokemon League were usually from, two Coordinators were going to surface instead. This is their story.

Jimmy, a 14 year old boy woke up and looked around his room. He was tired at first, but then realized that it was the day he would get his first pokemon. He put on his clothes, ran out the door and set out for the house of his friend, Destiny.
 
Thirteen-year-old Destiny was starting her journey on the same day. Too excited to sleep, she sat in her living room, watching TV.
Suddenly, she heard someone knock on the door.
"Hello?" she called out.
"It's Jimmy," the familiar voice of her best friend replied. Destiny smiled and opened the door.
 
OOC: Crap, sorry I forgot to tell you this, Kelli... You can't control my character or my pokemon unless I tell you to. Next time, just say something, and I'll reply in my post, okay? :)

Jimmy smiled at Destiny and nodded. "It's time." he said.

Feeling as if she could explode from happiness, Destiny quickly grabbed her suitcase, said goodbye to her mother, and began heading out the door.
"Let's go!" she cheerfully exclaimed.
 
Jimmy, without realizing that he did it, grabbed Destiny's hand and ran off in the direction of Prof. Birch's lab. Once they got there, he knocked on the door, still holding Destiny's hand and smiling.
 
Destiny noticed this and blushed. A few moments later, the lab's door lit up and opened.
 
Jimmy saw that he was holding Destiny's hand and quickly let go. Prof Birch smiled at the two and led them inside.
 
"This is so cool!" Destiny gushed as she gazed at the various machines around the room. All of them displayed a great deal of information about Pokémon.
 
Jimmy took Destiny's hand again, this time, knowing that he did it. He followed Birch who led them to a table with three poke-balls on it. "Take whichever one you want," the man said with a smile.

Jimmy smiled at Destiny and nodded. "Ladies first"
 
The Poké Balls opened, and much to Destiny's surprise, contained a Pichu, a Whismur, and a Lotad, rather than the usual Hoenn starters- Treecko, Torchic, and Mudkip. (According to Birch, a few other Trainers had taken them a few months prior.)
"I'll take the Pichu," she said. It then walked towards Destiny, holding its Poké Ball.
"Pichu Pi!" it joyfully cried.
Destiny looked down and noticed that Jimmy was holding her hand. She looked at him and blushed again.

Jimmy took Whismur's ball and put the pokemon into his pocket. He then smiled back at Destiny and blushed a tad too.

Birch grinned. "Well, head on out you two. You should head for Oldale Town!"

Jimmy nodded. "Okay, D. Let's go," he whispered to her.
 
Jimmy then let go of Destiny's hand and started running for the entrance to Route 101. "Catch me if you can!"
 
Destiny returned Pichu to its Poké Ball and began to run after Jimmy, laughing. Soon, they reached the entrance, which was undicated by an old wooden sign that read "ROUTE 101."

Jimmy looked around. "We need to catch something, and fast! I wonder what kinds of pokemon are around here!" he sprinted off.
 
OOC: I just fixed it. I wrote that because I was just playing Platinum. :embarass:

"Wait!" Destiny called out after him. "We can't catch anything if we don't have any Poké Balls!"
 
Jimmy stopped dead in his tracks. "You're right.... WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO?" he wailed.
 
Destiny thought for a moment.
"Well... Birch suggested that we visit Oldale Town, right? So we should go there."
 
Jimmy nodded. "Hmmm... okay, we can do that. Shouldn't be too hard to make it, right?" he smiled as he gently held Destiny's hand again.
 
Destiny grinned as she followed Jimmy through the dirt path. As they were about to enter Oldale Town, a Zigzagoon emerged from the grass.
"Pichu, go!" Destiny shouted as she grabbed its Poké Ball out of her bag. She then pushed the button, opening the ball. Out of it came a blob of red energy that morphed into Pichu.
"Pichu, use... uh..." Destiny froze. She didn't know any of Pichu's attacks.
