The Kanto Rally

[Blaziboy]

The pokemon league has come up with something of a different flavour, this time round.

instead of the traditional quest for gym badges, they decided to hold an on-foot rally. the basic rules were for contendors (groups of between 2-8) to start at the pokemon league and journey round kanto, finding ten baton points. at each point, trainers will collect batons. After gaining ten, they make their way back to the indigo plateu. The first twenty four to the finish would be entered into a tournament. these groups can be split or merged at anytime during the adventure. the team to make it back and triumph in the tournament would be split into a mini tournament to see who is the dominant out of that group

of course, it wouldn't be this easy. there would be various obstacles, such as league agents to challenge them, traps and other things which would involve the teamwork of the entire team, so the challenges would be the equivilent to the gym challenges.

the pokedex will include the entire 493 different kinds from all four regions, with limitations from Legendaries, of course. standard rules apply, so remmember to battle fairly, and accept defeat. Also, if the characters are linked in anyway, can you discuss it before signing up? just to avoid any confusion.

anyway, this is how to fill in the form

Name: (do I really need to explain it?)
Age: (again, do I?)
Physical appearance: (describe what you look like, in the best way you can)
Personality: (describe what your personality is, in the best way you can)
Occupation: (what does your character usually do for a living? trainer, nurse, anything (as long as it's tasteful))
Pokemon team: (maximum of six, can be as skilled as ever. this is gonna be a TV style RPG, so the move set is limitless and there is no need to post a level. also, say what their personalities are, any abnormalities? (size, colour, maybe a few moves it wouldn't usually know? (not ones that are too strong, and even then, limit yourself to four)))
Reserves: (How many do you have in reserve? if any at all. try do the same as you did for your team, so we know what they're like)
Others: (any people or pokemon that yourcharacter knows and may make a cameo appearance in the journey. if it's pokemon, try not to make too many of them pokemon, but they can be any pokemon on the pokedex, legendaries included)

Name: Josh Vendradoff
Age: 17
Physical Appearance: Blue bandana, black t-shirt, jeans, trainers. tall, athletic build, blue eyes, long black hair.
Personality: Kind, caring, turns the other cheek alot, but never forgets his sense of justice.
Occupation: Leader in Team Guardian, head of Pokemon development and incharge of the current case against team rocket.
Pokemon:
1. Blaziken (over the past few years, Josh had taught Blaziken the basics of the human language, including the moves Aero Blast, Confusion and Flash Cannon (although, these moves are not very good at the moment, and more practice is required) his personality almost mimcs Josh's)
2. Riolu (has a certain brave nature, and looks to Blaziken as a father figure. still rather young and weak)
3. Empoleon (sceptical nature, Empoleon usually hesitates on Josh's descisions)
4. Luxray (impaitient, Luxray will usually dive straight into things rather than wait for a plan)
5. Staraptor (Proud nature, this pokemon doesn't like recieving help from other pokemon, or from Josh)
6. Houndoom (fearful nature, Houndoom isn't very optomistic about going into battle)
Reserves:
1. Pidgeot (Justice nature, will go to great lengths to do the right thing)
2. Charizard (Comedic nature, Charizard will try to play pranks on the other pokemon)
3. Fertaligatr (friendly nature, will try to get to know every other thing he meets)
4. Manectric (stuck up, she thinks that she own's Josh
5. Nidoking (Angry... let's just leave it at that)
Others: Mother, Sister, Team Guardian, has a loose conection with Mewtwo through Team Guardian after foiling a team rocket mission to make more genetic pokemon.

Josh's eye pried open his eyes to view the wooden cieling. he had been spending the past few days in a rentable lodge near the Indigo Plateu gate, so he was close enough when the rally started. Sitting up, he sees that Blaziken and Riolu are already up, and Blaziken was teaching the little pokemn how to play poker
"Ok, Riolu, now you have to put this card down," the blaze pokemon indicated. Riolu stared at the card for a moment before taking a sizable bite out of it
"Ri!" it exclaimed happily after swallowing the piece of card. Blaziken sighed
"that's the fifth deck this morning," he muttered
"C'mon Blaziken, he only hatched a month ago, he's still young," Josh stated.

after much talk and eating of real food, the trio made their way to the gate. before they set off in the first place, Prof. Oak had asked Josh if he could abandon his usual team and take his less used pokemon on this venture with him, just so he could get to know them more. Josh thought that it would be a good idea, and took the group with him.

Name: Beka Longshadow
Age: 15
Physical Appearance: Around 5 feet tall, Black hair down to his shoulders, Mirrored Sunglasses, Black T-shirt with a White X across it, Sleeveless Orange Trenchcoat
Personality: Beka is a loner, often seen with no one but his pokemon. He prefers to tough it out by himself, and has trouble fitting into the group. He likes to have his opinions heard. Beka will never sleep inside, preferring to sleep outside, as he was raised to. Beka loves to wander alone, lost in thought, or track a pokemon through the brush for the thrill of the hunt. Years of wandering have taught Beka a lot, and he often knows what others need if they ask him. You will often find him staring at the sky, deep in his own mind.
Occupation: Nomad and a little bit of everything else.
Pokemon On Hand: (they know moves from Serebii's pokedex that are learnable, but nothing else worth mentioning.)
1. Ferilagatr (Male): Ferilagtr is Beka's starter pokemon. He is strong, and fiercely loyal to Beka. However, he will often get lost, for he has a poor sense of direction.
2. Arcanine (Male): Arcanine has a hot temper (get it? hot? hahahaha!). He is extremely quick, so don't get in his way, unless you want to find yourself both dizzy and crispy.
3. Flygon (Female): Flygon is shy, but extremely smart. She marks maps and provides aerial support and navigation. She also has a crush on Ferilagtr.
4. Toxicroak (Female): Toxicroak is a hard battler, but often she doesn't know when to quit.
5. Shiftry (Male): Shiftry is very strong, but is often afraid to use it. He is afraid of his power, but will battle to protect Beka or any of his pokemon.
6. Alakazam (Female): Alakazam is a naughty pokemon, and prefers playing tricks on others with its immense psychic powers rather than battling.

Personality: Personality: Patrick is naive and believes everything that he's told. He is full of energy and enjoys Pokemon battles more than anybody. He strongly dislikes being in the water.
Occupation: Trainer
Pokemon:
Infernape ( He is a very competitive pokemon. He tends to come out of his pokeball if he hears the word "battle".)
Blastoise (Patrick's starter pokemon. Blastoise usually has a happy disposition but he can be very scary if he's mad.)
Slowbro (Although it is dull witted and lazy, it's smart enough to be greedy and will only battle if there's food involved in the end.)
Shuckle (He has a short temper and can cause big trouble if he's mad. He is usually paired up with Slowbro in double battles, and they make a good team.)
Mamoswine (She is very affectionate pokemon and tends to trample over Patrick when it comes out of its pokeball.)
Absol (He is very docile and likes to sleep when not battling. It will attack anyone who wakes it up when napping.)

Omastar (He is still a bit jumpy but completely trusts Patrick)
Pelipper (Since it evolved Pelipper has become very protective of Patrick and won't let anyone near him unless he says it's okay.)
Quagsire (Quagsire is very curious, and often gets in trouble for it. She also has a very large appetite and often takes food from surprised picnickers. Patrick has yet to teach Quagsire the concept of "stealing".)
Poitoed ( Politoed is a happy-go-lucky pokemon and would rather cheer on his teammates than actually battle himself. Besides cheering, Politoed likes to flirt with other pokemon, making him oblivious to everything but the target of his affection.)
Rotom (very mischievous and loves to cause trouble)
Ariados (she has a hobby of scaring smaller pokemon, but is really very nice)

"Hey, look at that! We have one more hour until the rally starts!" Patrick yelled out as his pokemon were busily eating their breakfast. "While we're waiting, why don't we warm up for the rally?" The pokemon cried out in agreement, except for Absol who was asleep. At that moment an interesting trio walked by. A guy with a bandana, a Blaziken, and a Riolu on its shoulder.
"Hey! Bandana guy! Would you mind training with us before the rally starts?"

Beka looked at his watch. He had an hour. Inventory check time. Pokemon? Arcanine was practicing running in the wilderness, and Flygon was marking the map from the air. Otherwise, everyone was here. Goggles, check. Pocket Knfie, check. Bedroll, check. Bag of berries, check. Map, with Flygon. Guidebook, check. All here. Good. Beka threw his head back, and called out "Flygon! Arcanine! Come back!"

Josh looked over to the young man and his pokemon. with a smile on his face, he walked over to the group.
"hi there," Josh stated, "I guess we could train for a little while. I'm josh by the way." at that moment, Riolu let out several squeeks of joy. Blaziken chuckled
"Riolu says that he would like a bit of a battle," Blaziken stated. Riolu hopped off the blaze okemon's shoulder and hopped around a bit.

Age: 15
Physical appearance: i have long hair up to my waist and then its white.i have blue icy eyes and i wear mostly white.a white robe and baggy white pants with a chain on it.i wear white and black shoes and my skin is pail white.
Personality: i am really quiet but when it comes to battling im ruthless and a great battler.i am a caring person and sometimes i can really speak whats in my mind.i tell it how it is and sometimes am really angry.
Occupation: i train with dark,psychic and ghost pokemons.i also am a good cook.
Pokemon team: 1) sneasel 2) froslass 3) houndoom 4)luxray 5) raichu 6) gengar. my sneasel can be really sneaky and sometimes arragant.my froslass is very caring and helpful when it comes to healing the others.my houndoom is evil as it can be its attacks are really nasty and painful.luxray is my best friend and one of my strongest along with gengar and houndoom.raichu was the first to be my pokemon it is caring and sometimes it can have a major attitude.gengar is the funny one in the group and he sometimes gets angry for nothing.

"Okay then...Blastoise, you're up!" Patrick said to the turtle pokemon. "Oh, I forgot to introduce myself! My name is Patrick." He turned his attention to Josh's Riolu. "You can go first. I've never seen a Riolu battle before."

"Ok, Riolu, try your hardest, and in the slightest bit of trouble, I want you out of the match. you're a little young to do this sort of thing," Josh explained. the small pokemon gave a nod, and focused for the fight.
"Ok, Riolu, use quick attack to start this off!" the small pokemon launched itself at the blastoise, at a relativley fast speed

as genty walks around the place he catches two trainers about to start a battle."hmmmm this should be good" genty says while looking at the both pokemon.

Arcanine came bounding out of the woods, and stopped at its trainer's feet. Beka gave it a few poffin, and then asked, "Do you think you have the lay of the land well enough?" Arcanine responded with a howl that reverberated off the walls of the building behind them. "Alright, back into your pokeball then." A burst of red light came from the ball, and Arcanine retreated back into its home. Suddenly, Flygon came soaring back, carrying the map of the area. "How'd you do, Flygon? So, these X's are clearings, and the circled area is the start of the trail?" Flygon nodded enthusiastically. "Good job, Flygon. Back to the ball." Flygon, too, returned to its home for a much needed rest. Beka started walking, lost in the plans that flew through his head, when suddenly he came upon a clearing, where two trainers were battling, and one was watching. That's a good idea, thought Beka. A warm up before the race. "Hey, Whitey!" he called out. The watching trainer turned to look at him. "Up for a battle?"

"Don't worry Josh, we'll go easy on it! Blastoise, use Protect!" A translucent green barrier started to form around Blastoise. "Let's see how you like that!"

Eric Daimon walked into the room, and said "So THIS is the place Mewtwo told me to go." He then looked around, and said to himself, looking up, "Don't worry, Peggy, you WILL be avenged, as soon as those ignorant Rockets are no more." He then watched the battle going on, and thought of how he would take out Giovanni.

Josh had to think for a bit before thinking of another move that would be useful. clicking his fingers at the thought, he called out to Riolu
"Riolu, quick! use Feint attack!" Riolu then became somewhat translucent as he progressed toward the Blastiose.

"I didn't see that coming!" Patrick muttered to himself as his Blastoise got hit by the attack. "Blastoise, use Rapid Spin!"

"hmmm this person wants to battle me, what do you think gengar should we battle??"as genty turns back around to look at his appearing gengar he stares into its eyes and the gengar nods his head yes."and never call me that again you hear me" smiles while he points at the trainer."now gengar will be my first what will be yours??"

"Yeah, White Boy, stop your whining. Your Gengar will have to contend against Feraligatr!" The red pokeball burst open, and released the eager blue beast. "Your friendly ghost can make the first move, Casper."

Genty laughs and then gets back to his seriouse mode " your funny you know, Gengar use shadow ball on the gater!"gengar gets on its stance and fires a huge black ball."lets see you dodge this!"

Riolu took the rapid spin attack full on and was launched back into josh. one hit knock out
"Heh, well done," Josh replied, trying to recover some breath, "that Blastoise of yours is very impressive," he handed Riolu over to Blaziken, who took off at top speed for a pokemon centre. "now then, I choose you Luxray!" Josh yelled. the pokemon that emerged was a large lion type creature which seemed to be oozing with electricity. upon seeing the blastoise, Luxray wasted no time in charging its bolts for an up comming attack
