Wow, that trailer was awesome, now I can't wait for this movie to come out. I'm a pretty big fan of the anime, so this movie will top it.

I'm gonna wait til another trailer comes out, before making a first impression-judgement. I just hope this movie lives up to the series =D

I dont really know what to say. It looks a little to intense. The Avatar I remember always had a carfree nature involved. The preview didnt seem like that at all.

That's how most trailers(that I know) start off. Eventually, they'll create new trailers with a bigger expression to it.

The thing is, the show transcended being simply a children's show. You saw the series get progressively darker as it went on, culminating in that awesome finale. Avatar is a show that you can take seriously and still make it good.

I'm a HUGE avatar fan. I mean. I spent 150$ on the dvd's and was devastated when the series ended.

But I was actually disappointed with the teaser trailer. I had to actually try not to laugh.

I mean. I know I'll be watching the movie on opening day. But something in that trailer.. I couldn't take it seriously. \;

Hopefully my opinion will change. :) Cause I really want more than anything to enjoy this movie.

I'm a pretty big fan of the anime,

Avatar is not an anime.

As for the movie, I am really annoyed at Katara and Sokka being cast with white actors (and the casting directors specifically sought out white actors, too, so it wasn't simply a case of them being the best for the role). We can't have dark-skinned heroes, oh nosiree we can't.

cept, Aang isnt asian. i shoulda been Aang. i would have shaved ma head for that part :( plus, im asain :D

People make way too big a deal out of this, imo.

Also, is that Avatar Roku I'm hearing in that trailer?

And the main characters would have been all white if McCartney hadn't been fired due to fan complaints had scheduling issues.

As for the teaser, it, like most trailer-type things, didn't do anything for me. Because it's Avatar, though, I guess I'll see it when it eventually comes out on TV (because I hate theaters).

The bending looked pretty neat, and the fleet of fire nation ships looked cool, but I really don't have my hopes up for this. The white washing of the cast is really a downer, and even changing Zuko's actor isn't any better because he's a villain for most of the series. I'll probably end up seeing it but I don't expect much.

You sound white.

You sound like you're trying to incite flames.

Moving on...

I'm of the mind that you shouldn't pre judge a movie until you've seen it. That being said, I really liked what I saw in that trailer. I'm looking forward to this movie. They did change up the nation symbols a teeny bit, which isn't really a problem.

Is this really being made? It looked pretty good for Avatar I guess, but I'm still a little untrustworthy after the last big finale. Hopefully, it'll be better than that, and it might be something to look out for. I guess I'll have to see more before I can really have an impression on it.

My bad?

As for Katara and Sokka being white, the others will probably end up having wrong "colored" characters too. Just like a Canadian played Goku in DragonBall.

I'm not trying to be racist at all.

No, I'm not saying you're racist at all. I'm saying the casting crew was racist for specifically searching for white actors for characters who were not white in the series. I thought we as a society had gotten past the idea that heroes in movies could only be white.

Oh, wait, Zuko's re-cast actor is dark-skinned. But he's the villain in the movie.

ANYWAY.

yeah. i was mad. when i saw no asian in the cast. and how is avatar not an anime, anime is a drawing cartoon style right?

Anime is specifically animation from Japan. (Sometimes the term also means animation from France or Italy, since anime is also their native word for "cartoons".) It's a silly definition, but words mean things and you can't just willy-nilly redefine them.

Yeah, that's one thing I hope they don't sacrifice with this movie.

I'm not so sure how much I like the casting, though. It's starting to look a lot like the Dragonball movie.
