A new game mode has been added to Pokémon UNITE — the Quick Battle "Charjabug Scuffle" debuts September 26th. When you lift a Charjabug, you can charge it up to earn points! Compete with the opposing team for Charjabug— the team that holds it up longer wins! Knocking out Opposing Pokémon disrupts them and makes them drop Charjabug. Players can earn triple points in the central area, and the first team to reach 300 points wins the match.

Mega Lucario and Mega Charizard X Are Set to Bring Brawn and Burn to Pokémon UNITE

MegaEvolutionsPokemonUniteReleaseDates.jpg
Mega Evolution has been present in Pokémon UNITE since Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y joined the fray over two years ago, bringing a new, exciting dimension to battles. Now, Mega Evolution is going to get even more exciting, with Mega Lucario making its debut earlier this week on September 28th, and Mega Charizard X set to join on October 24th. These two Mega-Evolving Pokémon will be available exclusively via Mega Evolution Unite licenses—which are distinct from regular Unite licenses—with two more Mega Evolution Unite licenses being added later this year.

With the Mega Evolution Unite licenses, you’ll be able to Mega Evolve the Pokémon for a short time after using its Unite Move in battle, drastically improving stats and moves. Unlike the standard Unite licenses, who can choose moves from two tracks, Mega Evolution Unite license Pokémon will also be limited to a single fixed moveset. Since Mega Evolution Unite licenses will be treated as separate from regular Unite licenses, allowing two players on the same team will be able to select both Lucario and Mega Lucario, and so on. All Mega Evolution Unite license Pokémon will be limited to two held item slots, with one occupied by the appropriate Mega Stone.

Holowear owned by the standard Unite license will be shared with the Mega Evolution Unite license, allowing players to enjoy their favorite Holowear with either form. However, during battle, Pokémon will not wear Holowear after Mega Evolving.

Mega Lucario Unite License Event

MegaLucarioLicenseEvent.jpg
To celebrate the introduction of Mega Evolution Unite licenses, Pokémon UNITE will hold a special event from Sunday, September 28th, to Thursday, October 23rd, in which players can complete designated missions to earn the Unite license for Mega Lucario. Mega Lucario’s Unite license will be available at the Unite Battle Committee shop after the event in exchange for either Aeos coins or Aeos gems.

To celebrate Mega Lucario's arrival, a sale will be held where various Lucario Holowear items will be available at special prices. Additionally, the Prize Machine will also feature the "Ruins Style: Lucario" and "Costume Party Style: Lucario" effect expansion packs.

Adjustments to Theia Sky Ruins (Groudon)

The new Theia Sky Ruins (Groudon) map has been adjusted to make Unite battles more balanced. The complete updates notes can be found below:
Adjustments to Theia Sky Ruins (Groudon) said:

Map Adjustments

Theia Sky Ruins (Groudon)

Points required to break goals

Goal ZonePreviousAfterChange
Top First Goal7080(+10)
Top Second Goal9090(No change)
Bottom First Goal8090(+10)
Bottom Second Goal120100(-20)
To suppress one-sided matches that result from first goals being broken in the early game, the points required to break the top and bottom first goals have been increased.

Groudon

  • Flamethrower: Area of effect increased.
  • Rock Tomb: Range increased.
  • Precipice Blades: Area of effect decreased.
  • Earthquake: Area of effect decreased.
Groudon's ranged attacks had a short range, which often caused it to lose its target and have its HP reset. To address this, the range of Flamethrower and Rock Tomb has been extended. Additionally, its close-range attacks had a wide area and powerful hindrance effects, making it difficult for melee Pokémon to attack while dodging. Therefore, the area of effect for Precipice Blades and Earthquake has been reduced to allow fighting while evading its attacks.

Regidrago

  • After spawning, the direction Regidrago first moves is now fixed toward the bottom path.
  • Regidrago's movement range has been narrowed.
Because Regidrago's movement direction was random, it was difficult for teams to strategize and position themselves in the central area beforehand. Furthermore, its movement range has been narrowed to encourage team fights over Regidrago to occur nearer to the center of the map.

New Holowear

Various new Holowear are available for different Pokémon, including the following:
Neo Guardian Style: Cinderace
Frontier Style: Zoroark
