This is the planning thread for the upcoming frame adventure "The Legend of Taki" (Taki being my tentative name for the Pokemon Conquest heroine until an official name is found) Here you'll learn about the drama that Ash and co. watch week in and week out, in hopes Taki can complete her quest to defeat Nobunaga and his fearsome Zekurom and unite the region of Ransei.

Bear in mind that the story is in a very tentative state right now, and may change once I find more info on the game (or actually get my hands on the game, whichever comes first)

The contents:

The story's setup
The drama's premise
Meet Taki
Commentary
Meet Oichi
Meet Chiyome
Aiiro City

The story's setup

An episode of the story will look like this:

A preshow moment, where Ash and the gang discuss what they think will happen on that week's episode.

The episode will look like this, except for parts when Ash and co. comment on the action. Ash and co.'s comments will be normal text.

After the episode ends, Ash and co. will discuss what they thought of the episode and their predictions for the next episode

The drama's premise

From the opening of the TV show:

"A long time ago, the kingdom of Ransei was a peaceful and prosperous land. Then, one of the empress' top generals, Nobunaga, deposed her, forcing her to go into hiding. Overnight, Ransei was split into 17 rival kingdoms, each with their own leader that in turn reported to Nobunaga. If any questioned Nobunaga's rule, their village would be destroyed at the hand of Zekurom, the Black Thunder. Many tried to rebel against Nobunaga's harsh rule, but all attempts at rebellion have failed.

Now, a young girl from the tiny kingdom of Hajime attempts the perilous journey to Aiiro City, where Nobunaga rules with an iron fist. Can she unite the 17 kingdoms and restore the rightful empress to the throne? This is her story..."

Meet Taki

Quiet and softspoken, Taki hails from the small village of Jyumyo in the Hajime Kingdom. Early in the first episode, she discovers she is a moyo, someone who can "link" with Pokemon's hearts through music, taming them. She tames her Eevee partner Niru this way, using a flute her father made for her.

Not long after this, her parents are taken away by some of Nobunaga's men after her father protested against yet another rise in taxes. Taki and her friend Oichi knew well that once Nobunaga brought a captive to the Aiiro City, they often did not return alive.

Taki was saddened and enraged at Nobunaga taking her parents away (and presumably killing them), and took it upon herself to stop Nobunaga and his reign of terror. Along with Niru and Oichi, she sets out on the journey of a lifetime.

Commentary

Each of the audience members has their own style of commentary on the drama's events:

Ash tends to muse on the story--and the more he identifies with the main character, the more vocal he will be.

Delia tends to answer questions the others ask, as well as reflect on dramas that have aired in the past

Dawn, being a newcomer to watching the Pokemon Channel's annual drama, tends to comment on the spectacle

Brock, being a seasoned veteran of the annual drama, tends to parody the tropes of the genre, or make fun of cheesy scenes (as well as telling the Pokemon present when it's okay to look again after a scary part)

Meet Oichi

Taki's best friend and a fellow moyo, Oichi is very wise beyond her young age, and is always willing to lend an ear or a shoulder to cry on. However, her knowledge is not foolproof--even she doesn't know everything. Even then, she is stubbron, and often afraid to admit she is wrong. Alongside her Jigglypuff Vina, Oichi comes with Taki on her journey to provide support and healing. When she's not exploring or dispensing advice, she is brushing up on Ransei's lore, playing her harp and weaving tales of larger than life heroes and Pokemon.

What she doesn't know is she will have a role to play in Ransei's newest legend....

Meet Chiyome

One of the Empress' spies, Chiyome rescues Taki and Oichi from a wild Charizard terrorizing one of Ignis' border towns. At first, Taki doesn't trust her, but all it takes is the Empress' emblem hidden on her tunic's left sleeve to convince her. When she is not gathering intelligence on Nobunaga and his troops, she is providing Taki and Oichi with battle strategies and survival tips to stay one step ahead of Nobunaga. She is never without her faithful Liepard, Kuro. Despite her rough and tough exterior, she is actually very kind, and cares for Taki and Oichi like they were her own sisters. When she served in the Empress' court, she was the head tactician, and occasionally rallied the troops by playing her tikin (an erhu-like three stringed fiddle), Chuan.

She, as well as the rest of Ransei, hopes for the day Nobunaga is defeated and the rightful Empress is back on the throne.
