I actually like this concept a lot. I like trains more than boats, and the main gameplay gimmick seems to be Link having a golem Darknut sidekick he can direct - which is pretty cool. Also, while I loved the WW style, I couldn't stand the goddamned ocean, while this train traveling minigame actually looks like fun.

GOD! i love the ds & zelda, but do something on the wii! and jesus, trains?

Its nice to see a new Zelda game coming out, though I'll probably never get to play it..Hopefully news about one for the Wii will appear sometime.

So what innovation would you have in a Zelda game? Just the same 8 dungeon romp every 3 years?

Trailer, cuz I don't think anyone else posted it.

Link on a train. <3 Looks like the kind of Zelda game I could get into. Wonder if it's a new Link or TWW/PH Link.

Jeez... I really need to go back and play all my Zelda games to the end. It shall be my summer project. *nods*

I would rather something along the lines of a continuation of where Twilight Princess left off, but with new features, and no highly advanced technology such as boats OR trains!

Twilight Princess was already Ocarina of Time with new features.

Twilight Princess was incredibly boring. The only thing that made the game tolerable was Midna. Aside from that, it was just Ocarina of Time with better graphics and a wolf mode that played nearly identically to regular Link, and a horse you never used, and a disappointing story that once again revealed that Ganon is behind everything.

Also, flying cities, cameras, gear-shaped skateboards, grappling hooks (which we don't even have in REAL LIFE yet) and such aren't advanced technology?

Not really when you consider that magic exists in that world!

So who is to say that the train doesn't run on magic?

I'll give you that but they have done the locomotive bit already, and it was fun the first time, but a 2nd? I agree with the Ganon point as well, so here's an idea: A whole new Zelda line, same character line, new villain, same setting, with new places, objectives, and such?

Trains > Steam Boats

Yes.

When have they done the locomotive bit? I don't remember that.

Also, Majora's Mask and Link's Awakening say hi.

All kidding aside, I'm actually pretty excited about this. Phantom Hourglass was nice, but a lot of it left me... cold. This is all just speculation, but I'm hoping Spirit Tracks takes place in the "new Hyrule" Tetra and Link were setting out to find. If they can improve on Phantom Hourglass's flaws, I'm sold on this game.

Yes, it would be very nice to have that dangling plot thread wrapped up, considering Phantom Hourglass didn't address it at all.

Where is the Wii zelda??

Will we ever find out how ganon escaped his imprisonment in the sacred realm?

I’m happy that we’re getting a new Zelda game. Especially since it’ll be this year. I really did enjoy Phantom Hourglass, it’s one of my favorite DS games that I’ve play for the handheld as the touch screen features were actually fun and not “too gimmicky” like some games for the handheld can be.

I did find the Ocean King Temple to be a bit tedious at times with the constant back and forth to the Temple, but still a new Zelda game is always welcome. I can’t wait.

Eh, you know they're working on it. It's just taking a long time. I'd say we'll see it in 2010. But mind you, it will probably be the first-person Zelda that Miyamoto's been wanting to do since the N64, and which they started to experiment with in Link's Crossbow Training.
