Has it been given up? Has it been moved to a diffent location?

For those of you wondering what I'm talking about, I'm talking about the magazine idea put forward. The first issue was meant to be released online.

So has it been given up? If so, why? And if it has, can I make my own version?

It was called the Nat Bulba
National Bulbagraphic.

About this, I had talked to evkl and he said that it had been shut down and Bulbagarden was looking in another direction. (or something similar to that)
So I don't completely know why. But NatBulba got shut down due to several reasons including: them not being able to publish it and DCM running out of time for this.

Thanks. DO you think I'd be allowed to make my own version on these forums? Unofficial, obviously, but if I could use Bulbagarden's name and have help...

Unofficially I am quite sure BMGF wouldn't mind, but I can't be sure about that, a mod will have to confirm that. Because I did ask evkl a while back if I could continue and I was told that BMGF didn't want it, so I don't know.

As of help, you can always get your friends/etc to contribute.

To mods: I am not mini-modding, just explaining/helping with info about when I tried to continue it

The problem for DCM last time was that very few people turned their article in on time.

I'm pretty sure minimodding only applies when you're trying to do the rule enforcement duties of a mod, not anything else. You did make it clear, after all, that your opinion was not official.

If I make my own version, I'll have backup articles in case of that :p

Well, another problem would be that you need enough time to do it. It can't just be a one-off obsession. Would you be able to remain committed to post at least three issues, no matter what the time frame?

I'll be commited as much as I can, with school work and all.

I have already asked Chao-der about me joining if this is acceptable. I also agree that just two people should not do a magazine/newspaper by themselves, as it would put too much effort on the people.

Look at Smogon's The Smog as an example of a decent online working. It has multiple people working on it, has a decent variety of articles (Yes all on competitive battling, but they are all on different areas), and is easy to read. I am willing to work on a few articles myself, and also put the article I was writing for the canceled paper.

I just see only one other major problem in the way that it will be organized.

A bulbagarden magazine sounds awesome.
Not sure how, but I would like to help too in anyway possible.

This would be a webzine something like NatBulba which was based of The Smog

So it would need someone to programme it so it can be uploaded onto the net.

If it's a newspaper we're talking about, we already have Bulbanews for that >_>

But if we're going to have a dedicated opinion/analysis magazine, then this seems like a worthwhile project.

Perhaps some of the non-news columns in Bulbanews could be moved to the Bulbagraphic when it starts up again.

I thought Chao-Der was doing this as an unofficial thing, since we already established that NatBulba was cancelled. Though to do it official we may need approval from a mod.

Well, if it ever becomes official...

Anyway, even if it's just an unofficial thing, you might still want to get some informal approval.

I was in charge of NatBulba. The problem was that I had 30 people writing for it and 11 articles. Really, the difficulty is in getting support for it.

I would be able to make articles and keep them as "just in case" articles if people don't turn theirs in...
