Registeel/Regice/Regirock - Blind kids love to play poke'mon, so let's make a legendary trio around braille.

Regigias - Because three just wasn't enough.

Hitmonlee/Hitmontop/Omastar/Kabuto/Starters/etc (Gen 1) - Life without Ditto eggs was a pain.

Mew (Gen 1 before glitch discovery) - You gotta catch 'em all, little Timmy!

But you can't.

Also see: Celebi, except instead of Gen 1 write "forever until just now."

Spritomb - Yo dawg we herd you like the old keystone so we put the old keystone mission quest in ur game 30 times

Freebas - 6 out of 100+ tiles? Golden.

Rayquaza HG/SS - You need a special poke'mon...that everyone else with the opposite version needs too...

Any Event Poke'mon (Arecus, Mew, Shaymin, etc.) - Don't you hate it when data is present in game but you need a stupid item to unlock it? One that hasn't come yet for say...2 years? How many people owned Emerald/Leaf Green/Fire Red and never actually got to hear the cool music that goes with Deoxys or get the thrill of catching Mew?

Ho-Oh/Lugia before HG/SS - An entire story mode for Lugia and then 100 rooms of torture for Ho-Oh? Ouch.

Milotic - I think I spent 20 hours finding a Freebas, learning about contests, making it beautiful and finally getting it to evolve.

This is, easily in my opinion, the dumbest and most annoying way to obtain a poke'mon ever, second only to maybe...

Manaphy - 90% of Poke'mon Ranger sales came from players with Poke'dex OCD.

And you need a second DS, too.

Good luck with that, 5 year olds.

Honorable Mentions include:
- Baby incense poke'mon
- Evolutions with weird clauses you would never figure out except on accident
- Items only obtainable once that are required to evolve multiple poke'mon
- Latias/Latios: Have fun trying to catch them with Wobbuffet.

Feebas... I at least know where Spiritomb is and how to get it. Feebas is just luck.

Re: The Most Annoying Poke'mon to Obtain

Latios was easy....................... Now zapdos in platinum was a bloody discrase!

Re: The Most Annoying Poke'mon to Obtain

Fee-fee-feebas!

Chimecho in R/S was also pretty hard though. Phew.

But no, the most annoying pokémon to obtain are Deoxys, Jirachi and Celebi in Gen III (although without wi-fi connection the same goes for gen IV).

Re: The Most Annoying Poke'mon to Obtain

I spent way too much time trying to find a Croagunk in my old copy of Diamond. So yeah, I find them a bit annoying. In short, pretty much and Pokémon exclusive to a Safari Zone is the most annoying to me. So, Rhyhorn, Croagunk, Carnivine, Tauros... yeah, I find a lot of Pokémon difficult to obtain.

Re: The Most Annoying Poke'mon to Obtain

What everyone else said: Feebas. I don't even bother searching for that thing.

Any Pokemon only obtainable through Headbutt. The chances of a Pokemon showing up with Headbutt are, like 5-10%. The only Pokemon I got so far was Exeggcute.

Roaming Pokemon. They're annoying to track down and even more annoying during a battle.

Chimecho in R/S/E. I didn't expect to run into one during my first playthrough of Sapphire.

Kanghaskan. Why does it have to be a Safari Zone exclusive?

Re: The Most Annoying Poke'mon to Obtain

Milotic seems to be ridiculously hard to obtain.

First, you need to find Feebas, which can only found in 6 tiles out of the hundreds of them in Route 119. When you get one, you try to evolve it...but unless someone tells you or you used a guide or anything like that, you never know that it has to have its Beauty stat raised to the max and then leveled up to evolve...so you just keep on trying to raise its level. If you reached Level 100 without knowing how to evolve it, you're screwed.

Re: The Most Annoying Poke'mon to Obtain

There are SO many evolution methods that, if you don't have a guide, you'll never figure out, and that's just the cruel nature of these games (not to mention punishing lonely children. "I want a Scizor." "YOU DON'T GET A SCIZOR UNTIL YOU MAKE SOME GODDAMN FRIENDS!").

Honestly, I'm convinced that Gligar/Gliscor got into the anime just for the episode where he evolved, so that they could show kids how a Gligar evolves.

Vibrava, DPPt.

Seriously, straining your eyes in a sandstorm to see a Pokeradar chain for a Pokemon with a minuscule catch rate anyway in an area that is littered with strong Pokemon that know Arena Trap...

ARGHHHH

(NOTE: I did do this. It just took hours and annoyed the hell out of me.)

Re: The Most Annoying Poke'mon to Obtain

Its definitely gotta be Feebas
its a rotal pain the a***

Re: The Most Annoying Poke'mon to Obtain

*didn't have any problems finding feebas* ._.;;

Though the roamers in HGSS annoyed me a bit. Dx And Lugia in SS because I kept getting lost in the Whirl Islands.

Re: The Most Annoying Poke'mon to Obtain

Honey/Headbutt Pokemon: Hated having to do that in Gold/Silver, and its even worse in DPPt. To this day, I've still yet to capture a Cherrim because of that.

Safari Zone exclusives: Isn't it grand to run into 100 Nidorans and a bunch of common Pokemon before you finally find the SZ exclusive one you want and it runs away immediately after? I still hate Tauros and Kangaskhan for trolling me like that.

Spiritomb: Cool Pokemon Cynthia. Where'd you get it? What's that? Gotta meet how many people underground? Ohh...

Re: The Most Annoying Poke'mon to Obtain

Female Combee, no question. 182 trees I had to headbutt to acquire that whore. yeah i was counting.

Re: The Most Annoying Poke'mon to Obtain

Kingdra. It took me a month to find a Dragon Scale. I was banging my head on a table by the end of it and it was my last Pokemon to complete my Emerald PokeDex.

Re: The Most Annoying Poke'mon to Obtain

A good amount of the obvious have been listed, but I'm gonna say Heracross. I don't headbutt trees too often or use honey in Gen 4, but so far I've never seen a wild Heracross. I may have back in the GSC days, but it seems like this thing is WAY too hard to find.
