What VGM tracks you've heard you value as the most epic ones?

Now, I have played relatively few games, but I have played the ones I have a lot. Here are a few tracks I can think of right now. (they are not in any particular order)
* Pokémon Red, Green, Blue and Yellow Versions: Routes 24 and 25
(also used in Oak's introduction to Pokémon world) (YouTube)
* Pokémon Gold, Silver and Crystal Versions: Lucky Number Show / Game Corner (its HGSS remix is btw a big fail) (YouTube)
* Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald and Platinum Versions: VS Regis (YouTube - RSE) (YouTube - Pt)
* Pokémon Platinum Version: VS Frontier Brain (YouTube)
* Kingdom Hearts: Night of Fate (last night on Destiny Islands, when Heartless have already appeared) (YouTube). Dive into the Heart ~ Destati (the BGM in that glass platform place) is epic as well (YouTube).
* Dark Chronicle (known in U.S. as Dark Cloud 2): Spiral of Dreams (also used in the last level of each dungeon) (YouTube)
* Final Fantasy V: Battle against Gilgamesh (haven't played this game, just heard the track) (YouTube)
* Super Smash Bros. Brawl: Main Menu (YouTube)
* The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past: Dark World (YouTube)
* World of Goo: Screamer (for example in level Beauty and the Electric Tentacle) (YouTube), Tumbler (for example in level Tumbler) (YouTube)

There are many more tracks I like but I think these are the best of the best.

Agreeance with the Link to the past one :D

Also FFVI (or FFIII here) Terra's theme :D it's just the right amount of just wonderfully epic and amazing <3

Pokemon RSE: Vs Kyogre/Groudon/whatever (the one with the dinging bell in the begining)

Okami final bossfight: Sunrise. This one is just everything epic video game music should be.

well the most EPIC thing is in this weird Mario & Luigi vs. Air Man thing somewhere. the background music is Air Man ga Taosenai which is probably the best epic background music I've ever heard XD

for Pokemon games? Teams Aqua & Magma and leaders have neat music, both of them, as does Team Galactic, their admins AND Cyrus. Cynthia's champion music is also pretty epic. not linking to YouTube for those since I know most people know what those sound like. oh, and R/S/E's Abandoned Ship's music was pretty awesome too.
there's a ton of songs I'm leaving out due to them not being 'epic' but that's good -- if I put too much in here, then it'd be a huge tl;dr.

now, hoping that linking to YouTube videos with the music is allowed... for other games...
ohh man here goes. I have so much epic video game music on my iPod. most of these are the boss themes of the games, though, but we all know those are usually the most epic. and yes, the first one is kind of a boss theme too.

Samurai Legend Musashi -- Aeolic Guardian
FFVII -- Still More Fighting
Threads of Fate -- Burn with Rage
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 2 -- Northern Desert (not a boss theme, but lovely music anyway.)
Roller Coaster Tycoon 1 & 2 -- Ragtime Style, Ice Style (this game is a sim game so these are just random.)
Klonoa 2 -- Ark v.2 (haven't played, not sure what this is, but it's pretty epic either way.
Digimon World 3 -- boss theme, leader's battle theme
Brave Fencer Musashi -- Skullpion, Relics Keeper
Star Ocean 3 -- More Complicated (just cool bg music.)
Super Paper Mario -- Fort Francis (also just bg music.)

now, if only that Janne da Arc guy you's music was put in a videogame... I swear, "various cards" and "awakening" from life ~the first movement~ are perfect battle and boss music, respectively. *3* I can't find YouTube videos, though, so I can't share.

Quite a few I can name from this game I'm playing and some others

Pokemon Yellow: Route 2
Pokemon Firered/Leafgreen: Indigo Plateau
Pokemon Emerald: Gym

Mario and Luigi Bowser's Inside Story: Cavi Cape, Plack Beach, Bumpsy Plains and Blubble Lake, Peach's Castle when taken over by Fawful (and also the final bosses of the game)

Here they are, in no particular order.

  • Pokémon Gold/Silver/Crystal/HeartGold/SoulSilver: Champion Battle; Rival Battle
  • RuneScape: Main Title; Fanfare; Arrival; Attack 3
  • Chrono Cross: Common Battle
  • Pokémon Colosseum: Cipher Peon Battle
  • Bionicle Heroes: Main Title; Rahkshi Boss; Dark Hunter Boss; Versus Thok; Versus Avak; Hero Mode
  • Spore: Also Sprach Zarathustra
And many more.

FF7 and Digimon World 3 have great boss tracks and so do GSC/HGSS.

FRLG Trainer battle, gym battle music, those are epic.
Chrono Cross, best battle music EVER!
Sonic 3 & knuckles boss music
And that song in Halo 2 when the elites fight the brutes, also, the halo theme is epic too.

Halo Theme's
Lufia's adventure theme
Final Fantasy bgm
Etrian Odyssey 2 bgm
DoA 2
Platinum
and more lol

Does PC games count? If so, I thinK Deus Ex and Deus Ex 2 had great music even if Deus Ex Invisible war didn't live up to the original. Alexander Brandon makes great music IMO. Thinking more of:

Deus Ex: Invisible War:

Everything in the Final Fantasy Games (except Crisis Core... The only piece I liked in that was the same song that plays at the beginning of FFVII)
Example awesome tracks:
- 1000 Worlds (FFX2)
- Real Emotion (FFX2. Possibly the reason why I barely ever PLAYED that game, I just watched the opening over and over again)
- Final Fantasy (theme from...all of them. My current fav is FFXII)
- Chocobo Theme (From most of them. I can't pick a favorite version)
- Main Theme from FFVII

Also Kingdom Hearts, bonus for being made by Square Enix but it also has Disney Music (I'd sometimes just stop moving in Halloween Town to listen to "This Is Halloween) which I LOVE.
Disney+FF should make the best soundtrack ever, and then there's Atlantica in KH2 which...sucks... Donald Duck shouldn't sing. Really! Some of the songs are good, mainly "Part of Your World" and "Under the Sea", what they have in common is that they are from the original movie. Finny Fun can die in a fire. Or drown. Whichever is easier.
Example awesome tracks:
- Simple and Clean/Hikari (all versions)
- This is Halloween (if only that was vocal..)
- He's a Pirate
- Sora
- All of the instrumental versions played during the demos (those that come when you leave the meny on for too long) and the instrumentals for the openings.

Nippon Ichi (Disgaea, Soul Nomad, Phantom Brave etc) has pretty awesome music too. Gets much love for sometimes bundling a bonus soundtrack with their games:D (Sadly I fear my Disgaea 2 CD has been ruined due to getting wet when the CD-player it was in stood too close to the window during a rainstorm :( I haven't tested either the CD or the player yet) but I have copies of all the songs (+just about every other track from the Disgaea OSTs) on the PC just in case (and because I have to put them on the PC to play them of on the iPod).
Example awesome tracks:
- Maritsu Evil Academy
- Ode to Laharl (the vocal version from the first Disgaea)
- Mao Ha Yuku (vocal and non-vocal. Disgaea 3)
- Demon Academy Prospective Student (for being the most cheerful Game Over tune I have ever heard... If only I had the lyrics. Disgaea 3)
- A Dark Race Becomes Magnificent/Magnificent Darkness-05 (People can't seem to decide what the correct english title is. Disgaea 2, remix from Disgaea)
- Tsumi no Bara/Sinful Rose (Disgaea 2, also caused me to stop during a DLC-fight in Disgaea 3)
- Prinny my Love (Disgaea 2)
- Akai Tsuki/Red Moon (Disgaea)
- Rocks and Rocks (Soul Nomad)

Oh, yes. Alexander Brandon is a good composer indeed. I think I should listen to his Deus Ex tracks some time... I'm only familiar with his Jazz Jackrabbit compositions.

Of course PC games go here too :p

(I edited my first post to have links to each of the games (in case you don't know anything about them) and the tracks in question (found them all in YouTube))

Twilight Princess mos def. The field theme (I forget what its called... the massive grassy plains) is so inspiring.

You people need to expand your gaming horizons. The semi-obscure stuff is best.

Earthworm Jim
What The Heck? (PC version is closer to elevator music, but drags on a little long...)
Snot a Problem
Level 5
Use Your Head (PC) (compare to the SNES version first)

Gex: Enter the Gecko
In Drag Net
Circuit Central
Charge
The Rocket Channel
Mooshoo Pork

Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko
Holiday Broadcasting (see also: N64 version)
Mystery TV
The Anime Channel (see also: N64 version)
Fairytales TV (couldn't find the PSX version)

I know a lot more, but I'm too tired to search for it at the moment.
