So guys, what do you think? Which of the Pokemon do you think are wrongly typed, and had deserved another type?

I think Gyarados and Aerodactyl should have been part Dragons, since they look like dragons and are modeled on them IMO.

I agree Gyara should be a dragon. I don't get why its flying type anyway. You rarely ever see it fly... (Can it even learn fly? I'm pretty sure it couldn't in early generations at least)

Luxray and Feraligatr would be awesome as electric/dark and water/dark respectively.

Right guys. I think Girafarig deserved a Psychic/Dark as well.

Beedrill, Venomoth and Dustox should've been just Bug/Flying types. That's because they have wings.

I also don't see what Mawile has to do with the Steel type (physically) (it should've been a Ground type)

I think the reason why Aerodactyl is a Rock type is because it's extinct and has to be revived from a fossil (all the fossil Pokemon are Rock types).

And I agree with everyone else that Gyarados should have been a Dragon type (what was GameFreak thinking when they created it? It doesn't even have wings).

I'm still not entirely sure why Hippopotas is a Ground Pokémon. Hippos live near water; wouldn't it make more sense for it to be a Water type, instead of having a weakness to them?

to me, palkia doesnt really look like a water type.... :\ yes a dragon type, but not water. i think it would be a better psychic\dragon type, dont u think?

Are we going to have to explain Gyrados again...

Okay, In generation one was only one dragon type move, and it only did 40 damage no matter what. So Having four (or five dragon types, if you wanted Charizard to be one too) mean that none would get stab from it. Plus Gyrados is based off a Japanese legend about carp that flew over a waterfall. Plus, Gyrados was powerful enough. Making him part dragon would have made him a game breaker. The same for charizard. Everyone would have picked him as a starter.

Did you miss the sand pouring out of it?

Starmie could have been just pure water, instead of water/psychic. I can also see Lapras as water/dragon.

Hmmm... didn't think about that. Once again Ryuu, you're a genius.

Palkia was based on pearls. Pearls are made by oysters. Oysters are underwater. Get it?

It spouts sand out of its back. That's enough.

That's true, but in later generations, when there were a good number of Dragon moves, and its Sp Attack was bashed mercilessly, why not let it at least evolve into a Dragon?

Well, I know why it's a Ground Pokémon in terms of physical appearance. What I mean is, I don't know why they decided to make a Ground type out of a Pokémon based on an animal so closely associated with water. It has less to do with how it looks and more to do with the overall concept of the Pokémon.

I understand. So, a Water/Ground type fixes the argument?

If GameFreak did that, Swampert will be outclassed in terms of competitive battling.

Anyway, that does make sense, considering the fact that hippos can live on land and in water (even though they're not amphibians).

Palkia, as mentioned before, is the most confusing water type and should have been typed something differently. Physically, it hasn't got anything to go with any water-dwelling creature nor mythological water-dwelling creature, if it had the appears of a sea-serpent I would understand but... yeah.

You never know- if there is a next generation, GameFreak might create an evolution for it. In my opinion though they only thing that would fit an evolution for it would be something like a sea-serpent or water-dwelling dragon. I mean, Gyarados looks like a sea-serpent as it is.
