The mystery of shiny Spoinks' pearls

Ok, we know how Spoinks get their pearls from Clampearl, correct? Well, how do shiny Spoinks get their pearls? No one has ever seen Clampearl with a gray pearl. If would be almost impossible for a shiny Spoink to actually find one of the very few Clampearls with a gray pearl.

So, this is my question. How do shiny Spoinks get their gray pearls?
 
May be they get them from the other pearl producing pokemon like Shellder and Cloyster.

Maybe... Um... Well, the pearls function to assist their powers, right? Maybe a non-shiny Spoink's psychic energy makes it so that the pearl will keep their pink coloring, but a shiny's psychic energy make the color fade?

I dunno. x.x
 
I'd go with Lil Brother's idea. It also makes me wonder about shiny Slowbros and their rusty Shellders, and the fact that they're blue while shiny Slowpokes and Slowkings are just bright pink.
 
It's a radical change of pigment due to a mutation somewhere down the line.
 
Funny how people question stuff like this but not how spoink live on a volcanic mountain which is nowhere near the natural habitat of clamperl.

But hey, yeah, I'll go with the whole mutation colour changes thing. 'Tis weird, yes.
 
Regular Spoinks psychic energy transformed the pearl into a psychic amplifier. Shiny Spoinks pearl coloring is just a sideeffect, that regular Spoinks psychic energy doesn't have, but they don't have any side effects ability-wise, or strength-wise.
 
i think mayby its cheeks havesome magic power (differnt to pikachus) to make its pearl the same colour as its cheeks. this is because all pearls are the transpearent whity color exept those of palkia (whick has a differnt type of pearl) and shinies (which are mutations, like when people are born with one arm or 3 arms).

and about the clampearl having a habitat miles away, mayby the spoink live in the volcano, but breed at the shore (or daycare).

my only question is, if the egg hatches with you and you havent walked near the ocean, and dont have clampearl, how does it get the pearl?
 
Isn't it ovious?

Regular Spoinks have a pink pearl, which is just part of a giant pearl that gives the user immese power, and they regenerate in battle. Everyone is after these.

Shiny Spoinks have a black pearl, which actually hides the tomb of there dead father, the great Grumpig.

It's beacause clampearl's keep from using to much energy on Clampmas and throw it at shiny spoinks
