Hello〜!
In time immemorial, I used to frequent those silly little "tag"/"banner" communities. An outdated, vulny-as-hell phpBB thrown on somebody's bedroom server, filled with headstrong, self-important sixteen-year-olds whacking things together in their pirated Photoshops and feeling like the masters of their little world of userbars, affiliate buttons, "C4Ds", large-art-of-the-fortnight contests. As time passed, I found myself gravitating to the LiveJournal icon-making community, in which much the same thing took place in a 100x100 sphere, like tag haiku, throwing an overlay of a "texture" of ink blots and old negative sprockets at a fuzzy gif of Tom Felton doing something suggestive in the neverending strive to prettify your few hundred kilobytes of identity.
Lately, I've come to realise: useless as making 〜pwitty icons〜 may be, hopeless and aimless as making 〜pwitty icons〜 may make me feel, I might just be a little bit addicted. There's something to be said for adding aesthetic touches to your identity on a forum, even if it does take the form of massacring someone's fanart with a screen layer.
〜 So, without any further ado, welcome one, welcome all, to the Avatar Nekonomy.
