Hopefully this is the place to post this in these redesigned forums...

So, last week the PTCG Online client got a drastic makeover, with all these stunning attack and card animations since that Breakthrough set came out. Sad to say, the vast majority of players there hated it, mainly because it tampered with the official game layout, and you cannot turn off the animations. I, too find it very hard for me to pay the game there now, as the effects are quite distracting and hard on my eyes...

For those here you played this, what is your take on this update?

The new effects are cool to see the first couple of times but they start to wear down on you since they happen on almost any action you perform. My biggest issue would probably be having to click on your active Pokemon to attack. It does not respond to my trackpad's tap-to-click function and I find that sometimes it zooms out after I've already clicked on it. Having the prize cards in a pile and waiting for an animation for them to appear/disappear feels a bit tedious :/

I do like the hover feature added onto the cards so you wouldn't have to click and de-click if you want to read something and I'm a fan of having the energy cards minimized to the small circles...it feels neater.

I find myself wishing for the old layout though that might just be me still getting used to this new layout, but I do feel they could have done away with some of the extra flairs and whistles.

There are a few things that bug me about it but I think I've gotten used to them by now since I can't think of any at the moment.

I typically play on a touch-screen computer, since I use one at school, and this update plays a lot more clunkily on it. Not to mention that it's way more graphics intensive than this thing can usually handle. I'm also annoyed at the opening coin flip, since looking at it gives me migraines, and the games take way too long now because of the length of the animations, and the sheer number of animations you'll have to see during any match.

Oh man migraines. I hope you never get the glitch I've had where the coin animation gets stuck on the screen for the entire match.

Well, it's updated again. It's better but... it's still not as good as it used to be before the update in November. At least the animations are sped up, but I'm still aggravated with the forced drag-and-drop mechanics the most. I want to play Pokemon TCG online with its official clientele, but it's too much of an annoyance to make me want to play. Which is a shame because I really love the TCG.
