I notice there haven't been any posts on the aesthetics of the layout of the new forums yet.
I just thought I'd like to point out what I feel are some shortcomings in the new look - some of these may be no fault of Bulbagarden's, but here goes anyway:
The top bar, the one that has the welcome, notifications, etc. is way too high up on the top - it looks more like a programming bug that put it up there rather than a legitimate design choice.
Usually, there is nothing, at least nothing that small, way up at the top of a page, where there is usually the company logo or something similar, such as the Erika logo that we all know and love. To amend that, I'd suggest placing those things at the bottom of the top row instead, right above the main toolbar.
That's the main peeve I had with the forum layout; the rest are minor things such as some of the buttons and text bleeding into parts of the background and framing where they really shouldn't have. But that's about it.
(I could try making a "fixed" template, if you want, of what I think the top bar should look like. I can't promise its safety for use on the actual forums, though.)
