NILFRUITS began their Vocaloid producer career with the release of 「アンドリューがいったから」 "Because Andrew said" on February 10, 2018. Though based on rock music, they move freely between a wide variety of genres, and create works with a unique worldview through the synergistic effect of highly addictive visuals sprinkled with mystery. In 2024, they also published 『ポム・プリゾニエール』 "Pomme Prisonnière", a collection of short stories based on three songs.
The Project VOLTAGE High ↑ is a continuation of Project VOLTAGE 18 Types/Songs between Pokémon and Hatsune Miku (abbreviated as ポケミク PokéMiku), which included 20 original songs by different Vocaloid producers, and various illustrations by participating artists. While no limit on the number of songs for Project VOLTAGE High ↑ has been announced, further songs will be released on the YouTube channels of each individual Vocaloid Producer over the coming months. Additionally, the Project Voltage X (formerly Twitter) account will continue to post illustrations featuring Miku and various Pokémon. The illustrations can be found catalogued on Bulbapedia.
The new PokéMiku song was first teased alongside the announcement of Project VOLTAGE live concerts in March 2026. The imagery used in the short clip for the announcement, and the wording of the teaser post for this on the project's official account on X which ask the question of "Truth or Ideals", suggested this song will be themed around N from Pokémon Black and White.
