Welcome to the forums! (The teams above are a joke. Can't beleive no-one's done it yet XD)

Hello and welcome to the forums! As for your question, just get your Pokemon to a sufficiently high level and learn good attacking moves, and keep a lot of Hyper Potions, Revives, Leppa Berries and Full Heals ready just in case.

Hey! I'm new here too! Honestly, any Pokemon with a base stat total of 500 or more would be a great team, as long as you've raised them well. My favorites (raised the long, hard, honest way) are the following:

Luke(Lucario) Lvl. 100
Moves: Shadow Claw, Aura Sphere, Flash Cannon, Drain Punch
Ray Ray(Rayquaza) Lvl. 100
Moves: Fly, Dragon Pulse, Outrage, Hyper Beam
Grace(Gardevoir) Lvl. 70
Moves: Hypnosis, Dream Eater, Psychic, Thunder Punch
Shay(Shaymin) Lvl. 100
Moves: Seed Flare, Leaf Storm, Air Slash, Healing Wish (as a last resort when close to fainting)
Icy(Empoleon) Lvl. 82
Moves: Hydro Cannon, Aqua Jet, Surf, Drill Peck
Shadow(Darkrai) Lvl. 85
Moves: Shadow Ball, Dark Void, Dream Eater, Shadow Claw

All raised with passion, hard work and a love for Pokemon.

Also bring lots of Full Restores just in case you don't have any elite or strong Pokemon like me (I don't mean to brag but come on, it's a good combo, right? At least for me, that is...)

Anything with decent stat values (475+), that covers most or all types, and has few weaknesses. For example, Scizor. Base stat total=500. It only has one super effective weakness, being fire, so as long as you keep it away from that type, it can fare decently. Scizor is offensively good against Psychic, Dark, Grass, Rock, and Ice. That's a good coverage for just one pokemon. Build a team of pokemon similar to that (similar to the description, not scizor specifically), and you should have a decent team.

Also, make sure your pokemon's move fit the stats it has. If you teach a Weavile, which has an incredible Attack stat and a piss poor Sp. Attack, Dark Pulse or something, it wouldn't do as much damage as a physical move like (even though he can't learn it)Crunch, or maybe Night Slash.

Kind of ranted, but I hope it helps!

No Pokémon is better than another. Karen and anyone who's done a Nuzlocke run can tell you that.

i use an electivire & a magmortar - they OHKO all of the elite 4 between them & the other 4 are just fillers

A pretty easy way is to look up the E4 you're facing on Bulbapedia and assign one Pokemon that is super effective against each E4 member (except the champ, they'll be tricky).
