Sadly, I won't be getting Pokemon Platinum in quite some time. However I have a big favor to ask of the folks who have bought the game.
In the game's case, you all must have received the White colored manual with a Giratina on it. Although you may be really busy and all in playing the game, could you be generous enough to send some scans of the manual so that guys like us who haven't got the game itself can get a sneak peek at the merchandise.

Please say yes and help me out!

The Club Nintendo slip or the actual game manual?

The Actual manual itself - you know, the thin white one with the Giratina on it, something about 60 pages or something. It came in the game cover itself with the Rotom Forms page and the GamePak itself. It probably contains basics like how to catch a Pokemon, Pokeballs etc.

Scanning it two pages at a time should reduce the work load...but please do so. It would probably be my only chance to get to see it! :peace:

Where I'm at, it will probably take till 2010 to arrive and that a pirated version with a cardboard box having a printout Giratina on the cover and the gamepak in a tiny plastic bag which, if the box is shook, will rattle like crazy. Plus buying the thing has its own set of problems along with the fact that you have to hunt it down. Its not like its lying on a shelf for me to pick. Those greedy gamestore keepers actually hide the thing.

So why the useless manual? Well this is probably a case of "One persons trash is another's treasure." I still have the 30 page manual of the Red version in readable condition. Its an awesome piece of nostalgia which reminds me of how nooby I was back when I first started playing Pokemon. In fact, whenever my Gameboy's batteries had died, and the show wasn't on, I could always take a peek at the manual to see stuff about Pokemon.

By getting atleast a computer copy of a manual of a game that is relevant today... I can get a tiny glimpse at what new players get to see while they tread around the world of Sinnoh for the very first time. (If they read the manual that is...:dodgy:)

Most of us would throw away the thing or leave it just lying around. So lets just say that putting the pages of it up here will surely make an old gamer happy...

Please, just scan the darn little thing.
Most of us could take an hour and scan it all in our sleep (regular computer users that is). I hope there won't be any objection to it. Its not copyrighted manga or anything...

Peace.

There is nothing in the manual though...all basic game information you could find online.

If you want it that badly, then import Platinum or buy the manual online.

http://store.nintendo.com/webapp/wc...goryId=62210&ddkey=http:SetCurrencyPreference

And your story about when your battery died you could still look at the manual...well you're obviously online so there is no end to the Pokemon information you could read.

Remember, it may be trash to you but it is a treasure to me.

Umm, the link you provided doesn't work. It sends us to a "Generic Application Error" page.
Anyhow, no matter if you send me another link, it still won't be any use to me as, simply put, I can't afford buying it online. (I'm just a 12th grader with a thousand local currency bucks to splurge; Which is probably 5 US dollars!!!)

I think I said that it was the "Red version"whose batteries died on the "Gameboy" Wouldn't that put the time I was a noob back in 1999? Well back then I didn't have a computer let alone an internet connection otherwise I would have joined this majestic forums years ago...
So if my Gameboy's batteries had died, I used to be really screwed.

Yeah I am nowadays online, but the info I get is all fan written. I want to see some of the official stuff. That's another point to why I have made such a request.

On topic, I will still be grateful to anyone who takes the pain to help me out in this project. I'll wait for it no matter how old this thread gets. I will be extremely grateful
PM me anytime!

Thanks a zillion pal!
Too bad that place doesn't have the Hoenn manuals as well...

That manual thingy is nothing...

I REALLY wish someone here scanned the Platinum Prima Guide.

I really miss #PM releases. They were the purpose of their site ('cause I hate IRC. I used to be an IRC-addict, though). Now, without them, #PM is utterly useless.

I agree. Now the prima guide, that's REALLY worth scanning, it be a treasure to most of us :D

It's not worth the twenty bucks if all you're going to do with it is tear the stupid thing up just to scan ALL 624 PAGES of it in as perfect condition as you can manage.

An extra twenty if you wind up accidentally ripping a page in the process of despining it.

Noooooot worth it.

True, I was surprised by that at first since they've done most of the ones I have, and I have alot of them...

Yeah, I probably wouldn't buy it to scan, I'd just buy the pdf.
My point was that I don't value it, and I'd take it for free, but I wouldn't pay for it.

Actually, it's not a Prima guide. It was printed by Pokémon USA.

Yeah, there's been alot of confusion about that. Actually, I think its a Prima guide printed by PUSA, since Nintendo hasn't published any "official" nintendo guides in a year or so. But I could be wrong. The .pdf is available for purchase on Prima's website if it makes any difference.

There's no Prima logos anywhere on it. I believe it was originally a Japanese guide and PUSA painstakingly translated it.

The reason why Nintendo Power hasn't made a player's guide is because those went by the wayside when thay got bought by the media company Future US, Inc.
