The things on the side of Porygon's body - what are they?

Since Porygon is a duck thing, I always assumed they were wings. However, it has recently come to my attention that some people think they are feet.

...a pretty funny place to put feet, if you ask me...

So, what's the general consensus?

I believe they are designed as Tank Treads sort of things. Obiviously both it and Porygon2 have been abandoned by the anime after the 'incident' caused by Pikachu but it is meant to be a Pokemon used to exploring computer technology and what I'd assume is the equivilent of the internet.

It'd float along electronic lines on it's Tank Treads.

So not wings and not really feet.

I suppose I could see tank treads... very simplified, much like they would be if they were wings. Can't see feet, though.

The biggest thing that makes me think wings is that in Snap, where we get to actually see Pokémon moving around, they act like they are more arm - or wing - type limbs more than something needed to get around. When Porygon dives forward, they move back, as if to get out of the way so it can move faster. And I'm pretty sure they don't do the stepping thing when Porygon wanders around.

In my world view, Porygon is a software entity rather than a physical being. The image that you see is just either a holographic or monitor based 'agent', a graphic that allows you to interface with the creature.

However, if you go by the 'physical' interpretation, then Porygon is a robot like Voltorb or Magnemite. In that case, those are probably caterpillar tracks or multiple wheels.

It thought it was feet. Cause drinking birds have feet and not wings and Porygon2 has this round things that can't be wings. When they moved forword in snap, I thought of like when a person jumps their feet go back. I mean all of porygon is not necessary just decoratory, it is a floating hologram that can affect things in life. Not really like it needs feet or wings. I always thought feet because of the shape and the fact that they are located at the bottom of the body. And the reason I didn't say tank treads because they are such a solid and trianglular shape. And they move up and down. And why tank threads and not feet? I am not saying it needs feet. Because really, it needs practically nothing

I never thought they could be anything else.

I always assumed that they were something like feet, although not exactly. Since porygon do hover, they don't need them to move, but I don't think they levitate 24/7. They probably have to land sometime, and when they do they can land on those "feet".
