This is basically a thread to explain why you still watch the anime despite all your complaints. For me, it is the fact that the anime staff still seem to care about the show. We have gotten pretty good animation, most of the twerps' (I just love calling them that for some reason) Unova Pokemon have distinct personalities and characters like Iris have a little depth to them. It's not as great as Digimon (especially Tamers) but I'll take it over Beyblade and Bakugan.

I enjoy it, it's show aimed for the children and yet I still enjoy it greatly. For me, Pokémon never lost its charm. ^^

Because no matter what up to this day Pokemon is still my favorite anime. It was also the very first anime I ever saw without even knowing it was anime and I always loved the concept of traveling around regions and catching little animals in balls :p Basically no matter the small complaints I have for the anime I love how great the animation has gotten, the new characters and the story so I will until the day it ends continue to watch the anime :3

While I can't get as excited about the show now due to the sheer length its been going on with Ash in an endless cycle, I did like the fact that there was gradual improvement in the way the show was handled after Johto. Character arcs got better, battles improved, rivals were handled better, villains got much better, etc.

Kanto/Orange I enjoyed for the same reasons everyone else did, but I've enjoyed the new series moreso than Johto because it feels like there's an actual point to be watching with character arcs that mean something.

The show is so wacky and strange that it really sets itself apart from other shows. Its unique quirks helped toward its longevity.

I'm starting to get the feeling you don't like Johto. Just a hunch though.

Anyway, the main reason I like this show...because Pokémon has and will always be my life xD Also, as with any show, I'm too curious as to how it'll end to just drop it.

I watch it because it makes me laugh especially when I see stupid errors.

I grew up with Pokemon games/anime dreaming how awesome it was to travel around the world with a "there's always something new to explore!" spirit and without the worries that makes that dream kinda impossible irl. Not only the classic friendship/nakama vibe - one of the messages that impacted me the most in Pokemon was the belief you can always improve and find/learn something cool, even in unexpectedly times and places, if you truly seek for it and try your best.

IMO the anime so far has its high and low points; I love some characters, I like some episodes/story arcs, few battles are really great to watch however I also find some stuff are... *ahem* badly written and we always facepalm to its dozen of plot holes; regardless that, animation and story overall keep improving - and, surprisingly, the original messages from old times still there. Funny.

I don't watch it religiously like I used to do when I was younger but... Yeah, I still watch Pokemon sometimes for the nostalgia/because it is a part of me and, of course, because it is a small pleasure to see that, even though time goes by, after so many years, you can still find cool and new stuff to explore in the world. Corny, I know P:

been watching it since the first time it aired in 1998 and loved it ever since. I was only five when it first aired, and I'm still watching it even though I'm 18 now, because it's a classic

Hey, that's supposed to be my line!
So... yeah... what he said XD Pokémon is the best thing that exist in our very, very, veeeeery boring and ridiculous world... why NOT love it?!
Also, I don't really have much of complaints as the thread's first post seems to imply we all have... though I do admit that I complained a little about BW, but I'm warming up to it... I still think it's my least liked series and probably will forever be remembered by me as the worst one, but it's still good too, even if not as much as previous seasons (all in my opinion, of course...)

Haha, and here I thought that BW was the season that restored the Pokémon series. :p

I've watched the series since the first episode aired on tv, and I just fell in love with it right away! I loved the concept of how regular humans could battle with these pets, friendly battles, and with all those awesome moves!
I did lose my interest in the series, thought, when the DP started. At first I was very excited over it, but I thought it went boring too fast and I stopped watching the anime, but then when the Sinnoh League came I felt like I had to watch through all the DP episodes, just to get a full view over it, and it was pretty painful.... <.<
However, when the BW started all my interest for the series returned! I fell in love with Iris and Dento, I loved the new Pokémon, and I loved the awesome new rivals! BW was the serie that restored my love for the Pokémon anime.

DP wasn't that bad though, Paul, Conway and the gym leaders were awesome.

I usually only stick with the series because it contains one or two characters that I really enjoy watching. To get through Johto-Hoenn, I attached myself to Team Rocket. I had no attaching feelings to DP, so I actually quit for a while, until I saw Paul in the tag tournament. And then I watched for him XD Now that BW's here, I have to admit that the individual episodes are really fun to watch, so I don't really need an "attaching character," but Dento became one anyways.

Yes, my reasons for watching are really that shallow XD
Oh yeah, and the fact that Pokemon is pretty much my life, nostalgia, fandom, blah blah all that good stuff too ^^

I really love the pokemon anime. it was my first anime and it's the only anime I've continued to watch

I've always loved the characters and everytime a new adventure begiinds, I just have to see what's next.

I haven't watched the series regularly in years (didn't have a way to anyway), but I'm back now because of BW. I sorta liked the concept of the game and the direction TR was going in for this particular series. I also like Dento and Iris's characters. The show isn't as fun (funny) as the original Kanto series, but it's okay so far.

I always watch the show. I was 19 when I started to watch it, back in 1999 and I stay in touch with the show, even though I wait for the DVDs to come out. It just get more interested, but if my favorite character evolves from the main cast, which then I will not see it again, so then I will not watch it until the new generation starts.
