The PSP has a great selection of games, and at this point the game selection is even comparable to that of the DS's. Games like: Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection, Metal Gear Solid:Ops, Killzone: Liberation, Wipeout pure, Lumines, Lumines II, Grand Theft Auto Liberty Cities, Daxter, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, Crush, Rachet and Clank: Size Matters, Prince of Persia: Rival Swords, Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror, SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 2, Burnout: Legends, Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords, Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth, SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo, Mega Man Maverick Hunter X, Metal Gear Acid, Mega Man Powered Up, Metal Gear Acid 2, Loco Rocco, and Lemmings. Needless to say, the titles coming out such as ; God of War: Chains of Olympus, Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core, Silent Hill: Origins, Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions, Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles, and Warhammer 40,000: Squad Command. To be honest, the PSP right now up is shaping to be god!

The PSP is becoming a more pleasurbale by each month, Right now Sony is really putting some bargains on the table the most exciting; The PSP with the limited edition Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core art on the back, and will include the actual game, though I'm not sure what the price point will be, but it looks smexy for Japan at least and could symbolize something for the U.S. maybe later. Then you have the PSP custom made Darth Vader PSP including the new Star Wars game Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron, which looks surprisingly great being priced at only 199$. That's a really good deal. Then the PSP Redesign featuring many sleak abilities in physical appearance; The new “enhanced-design” PSP is a smaller and slimmer version of the original, with a third less weight and about four-fifths the thickness. Other changes that are noticed include a spring-less UMD retention mechanism and new speaker holes just above the d-pad and button areas. And more importantly Sony has doubled the built-in memory from 32MB to 64MB, and the new PSP will also be able to speed up game load times by storing UMD data in temporary memory. The new PSP will also be able to recharge over the USB data connection.

Last but not least, the PSP redesign will feauture VIDEO OUTPUT!!!! Allowing output gameplay, movies, and photos to a TV display. And the price for the PSP redesign will be 169.99$. Sony will also offer a $199 Ice Silver PSP in a new Daxter Entertainment Pack that includes Daxter, Family Guy, The Freakin' Sweet Collection on UMD, and a 1GB Memory Stick Pro Duo.

One word. AWESOMENESS!!!

Your thoughts?

I agree, I really want the PSP redesign! I LOVE Mega Man games! and the other stuff is cool too!

I'm usually a Nintendo fanatic but I also love the PSP! I don't have a PSP yet, unfortunately.

Is it me, or does this post seem like one of those marketers paid to hang out on a messageboard for a few weeks than post spam as a "discussion topic". It seems like it was copied and pasted from a PR document.

Yeah that's cool ^ ^. But I say it's a huge improvement. I used to hate the PSP, and like the DS much better. However, over the 2 years it's been coming along nicely.

Umm... no. That was me completely.

I agree.

I still don't get it. That was 100% my thread.

In one thread, you whined about the Wii being a terrible console and claimed the Xbox 360 and PS3 were infinitely superior to it. Now, in this thread, you're going on about how the PSP is doing better. Frankly, if you aren't an advertiser, then I'd have to consider you a Sony fanboy/Nintendo hater.

Wow... way to make a rather innacurate analysis about me.

I even went and said this in a previous post " I used to hate the PSP, and like the DS much better. However, over the 2 years it's been coming along nicely."

And even in the previous thread I said "My favorite consoles of all time are N64 and SNES"

You need to stop jumping to absurd conclusions. Really it makes you sound presumptuous.

I think they mean you sound like you're reading from Sony's E3 Press Packet.

The way you phrase your posts with lists of features and prices sounds unnatural to the ear of anyone having a casual discussion. You can throw in internet words like "smexy" and "awsomeness", but the phrasing and level of detail you put into the first post of this topic rings false for anyone commenting casually on a favorite system. Basically, like I said - someone took an advertisement and put in some "hip internet words" to appeal to all the kids.

Well, if you don't want people to come to that conclusion, then you should probably stop whining about the Wii so much. Anyways, the PSP has always left me unimpressed. It been pretty much a big flop since day 1.

No I wasn't. I was simply informed about the PSP's current prices and redesign.

When I posted that, I was trying to be more factual than bias or 100% opinionated. You know what I mean?

So having a supported opinion on a system is now a crime? I didn't know. Some one please arrest me right now. =/.

And can you explain why it is a big flop, your opinion isn't by any means the "end all be all". 22 millions PSPs being sold definitely conflicts that statement. It's really one of the only handhelds that's been able to compete with a Nintendo handheld, that right there is a pretty big accomplishment. No matter what objections you may have.

Yeah, informed by the people you're working for . . .

My brother gots a PSP, and he never touches it...so I do sometimes. I like Megaman Powered Up...I might get it now that the price goes down, but not really for the ability to watch movies on the big screen (DVD's?)

The PSP isn't bad as hardware device, but like all of Sony's systems, it was marketed as a Half-assed PC/DVD player FIRST and a videogame system last. Most of the good games on it are ports or minor spinoffs of other games with nothing really original or intriguing to make it appealing to anyone who doesn't have a PS2. Basically, it's a pocket PS2 where you need to buy all the same games all over. Oh, and the movie format sucks. Thanks Sony, but I don't fancy buying a new series of DVDs exclusive to your little gaming system. I already have a DVD player.

Not too mention the UMD's cost more then you can usually find the DVD's for...

Like all Sony system's? The PS1 did no such thing, except if you want to include the CD compatability, but with the great selection and dedication of games. It's obvious this wasn't their approach.

Also Sony isn't the only company to do this. Nintendo has done this as well by offering gimmicks such as; Weather Channel, Everybody Votes channel, etc. added additional features that in the end I'm not getting my money's worth.

And the DS has it's fair share of rehashes as well, that I would rather play on a console.

It's really Sony's flaw with both the PSP AND the PS3 - making it the answer and end to all electronics to jack up the price, not realizing that most people already have a PC, DVD player, and stereo system. And they're not keen on buying them ALL again just to have a game system be thrown in with that as well. Especially since most of the titles on the PS3 can be found on the XBox 360, and most of the titles on the PSP can be found on the PS2.

. . . that's all software. Which they don't charge extra for, or is optional, and isn't used to justify jacking up the price another 300 bucks.

Again we've seen this commercially successful before. Also Microsoft has done pretty much the same thing you've criticized Sony for doing.

If it's a good game, that's all that matters to me. And hell, I'd rather play "scaled down console games" than the travesty on the DS that is casual games.

The Blu-Ray inclusion in the PS3, is mostly why the PS3's so expensive not the multimedia features.
