Batman Begins came out in May, and in my opinion was better than any of the ones before it. That's because it is a reboot. They're doing it over. And doing it right. How do you guys see this new franchise going?

I think it'll depend on how well they can pull off the Joker. Given that he's supposed to represent both a parallel and an opposite to Batman himself, it's very tricky to pull him off correctly.

I believe that movie was based, in part, off of the Batman: Year 1 comic series, wasn't it? The ending was the same, IIRC.

Yeah, it was largely based off of Batman: Year One with SOMETHING else (I can't remember the other thing) thrown in. The screenplay was also written by the same guy who did the Blade trilogy, which is only vaguely relevant, but whatever. He's also doing the new Flash movie.

For me, I still haven't seen Batman Begins (but plan to...eventually). I think it looks great, and have a friend who's a HUGE Batman fan that absolutely loved it. So I'll probably pick up the DVD and see it then (like I did for both Spider-Man films).

If they pick Jim Carrey or someone like that to play the Joker, I will be very angry. Jack Nicholson was too much Jack Nicholson. I hope they can cast someone who can actually become the character.

I thought Jack Nicholson was superb as the Joker. Sure, I've never actually read the comic and am VERY pernickity when it comes to accuracy in movies...but being someone who had at least heard of the Joker character, he exemplified what I thought the Joker was essentially down to the finest line.

I didn't mind Nicholson. But I think Andrew Koenig has been the best Joker yet. Wouldn't be hard to get him, either.

Andrew Koenig played the Joker in a very well known (among comic fans) short film about Batman. He was one of many villains, but looks almost exactly like Joker does in the comics, and had a voice that was absolutely chlling.

He's best known for his role as "Boner" on Growing Pains. Which is a humorous bit of info. Especially if you ever watched the show.
