So what is up my people. This is my first fan fict. never done it before so i hope you all enjoy it. I am gonna focus on the In-game teams, but i wont be using levels and battles will be just like the anime. I'm thinking of making volumes of this but ultimately it will depend on whether its good or not. Of course I hope you all like it and here i go:

Every trainer has a beginning and they all have an end. Today, Troy starts his very own journey into the world of Pokemon. The boy has lived in Jubilife city all his life, and has been waiting to get out. Troy has just turned ten, for a ten year old he was quite tall and strong. He was a bit darker than most but never really paid attention to it. The other kids went to trainer school but not Troy, he wanted to learn everything by experience. In Sinnoh they have a tradition to pick who gets the three starters each year. He was picked to be one of the three trainers by Rowand when he was born as he was expected to have exceptional talents. He took this as His fate and has been waiting ever since to start his journey. Our trainer has just woke up and is getting ready to go out.

"Troy are you ready?" Said Troy's father as he opens the door.

His dad was pretty big and muscular, as he had to be, he was an electrician for Jubilife city. His father was always protective of Troy and dreaded the day he would part from him. although all he could do was watch his son leave, as he knew it was his fate.

"Dad come on I'm almost there." replied Troy.

Troy climbed down the stairs taking a last glance at his, and his parents bedroom. He reaches the bottom as his mother starts speaking.

"I can't believe you get to be a trainer, while your father and i had to work regular jobs," she said jokingly

His Mom was rather girly, making the best dishes, but she was also rather aloof. This would be proven by her burning of the food sometimes, but rather his mom acted really goofy, until it came time to be serious.

"Well mom, I guess I must be one of the lucky few," said Troy right after his mother spoke

Troy ate breakfast, brushed his teeth and was ready to take off when his dad stopped him and handed him a pokeball.

"Troy this is my Machop. Use this to get to Sadgem town safely. And don't overwork him I want him back when you get your own pokemon from Professor Rowand," His dad said seriously.

"Alright dad," replied Troy as he hugged his father.

Troy then stepped out and headed toward route 202, thinking about what his journey would be like and what he had experienced. As he was leaving Jubilife city he turned around to say one last goodbye. As he was turning back a man bumped into him, wearing weird clothing, and with a funny haircut. Troy just ignored him and moved on. In route 202 he met many different Pokemon but was able to fend them all off with Machop. He spent most of the time running and was able to reach Sadgem town before the night. To his bad luck the professor was already out for the day, making him stay in the Pokemon center for the night, healing his Machop.

In the morning he finally Got to see the professor, but there was two other men with him. The professor seemed short compared to his dad, and had white hair. This did not discourage Troy as he looked beyond that and saw the man had wisdom. One of the man really did not seem that strong and was really quiet. He just seemed like a regular person with glasses. The other man was just a regular merchant.

"Is that alright professor? I really don't want to be a nuisance," The tall man said.

"Sure no problem, just take it," Replied the professor.

"Okay then," said the man taking a kind of map from the professor.

The man gave the map to the merchant. The merchant thanked the tall man. The professor then noticed Troy was by the door.

"You must be Troy, everyone else already came and took their Pokemon already," Said the professor.

"Is there one left?" said Troy looking around desperately.

As Troy was looking around when a little energetic Chimchar came out. This Chimchar seemed to be male, and apart from that seemed to be too much for one person. The professor called him, and soon the Chimchar was on top of the professor.

"As you can see this little one will be yours," said the professor petting the Chimchar.

"Yeah, I'm getting a Chimchar," screamed Troy.

"Problem is I'm all out of town maps," continued the professor.

Troy then looked sad but then the man seemed to try to speak.

"Umm..... I feel bad, so why don't i take him around the region?" mumbled the man.

The professor looked astounded. It took the professor a while to actually react to that comment.

"Are you sure? I mean that would be great, but would that not bother your plans?" said the professor.

"I have a whole year, so why not?" replied the man

Troy seemed confused. The professor then explained.

"Troy this man is one only a few people get to meet. He is the regulator," the professor started.

"He is the man who deems who is worthy of keeping their titles. He is the strongest trainer in the Pokemon world second to none,"he continued.

"For him to be with you is just an honor," He finished.

Troy didn't quite understand, but he did know that this was his chance to go on his journey so he took the opportunity. He took his Chimchar and Pokedex and was on his way to become a great trainer, after saying his farewell to the professor.

Chapter 2

Troy had finally gotten his first Pokemon, a highly energetic Chimchar, and his first traveling companion, a mysterious man know as the regulator. "What exactly does a regulator do?" though Troy as he was getting to the end of Sadgem town with the man.

Troy was just staring at this man, he was not the strongest person he ever saw, his character was also weak. Not really one outstanding feature in the man. If Troy had to say anything was really special about him, it would be his glasses, Those bulgy ugly glasses he wore, nothing else was really outstanding to him. The man noticed the boy staring at him, and stopped.

"My name is Tom, and as you have heard from the professor I'm the regulator," said the man.

"I'm Troy, and I have a question," replied Troy.

"Ask away," Tom said right away.

"What exactly is a regulator?" asked Troy

The man though about it. He seemed as if he was really thinking hard, and finally came up with an answer.

"Instead of me telling you, as that would only confuse you, why don't I show you?" Tom answered.

"Umm... Sure," Troy said, smiling.

"How about we have a battle right now?" Tom Asked.

"A battle?" Troy answered perplexed.

Troy never had a battle, and his first would be vs the greatest trainer in the Pokemon world. As Troy started thinking he started liking the idea more and more. Since he dint look that strong maybe he coould beat him. Troy then let out a great scream.

"Let's do it," said Troy
"Alright," said Tom

Troy was excited to see what Pokemon the man had, and though it would be cool if he beat him. Tom then saw the excitement in Troy's eyes and saw a great energy. Tom then asked Troy to follow him. Troy followed him and they went to a Pokemart. As they entered the mart a clerk greeted them.

"Hello sir, what would you like today?" asked the clerk.

The clerk seemed energetic and was awaiting the order.

"Can I have 6 pokeballs?" asked Tom

Six pokeballs Troy could not believe it. Why six? Tom got his pokeballs and paid the clerk.

"You don't have any pokeballs, do you?" asked Tom facing Troy.

"No, not really," Replied Troy

Tom then headed to give the pokeballs to Troy, 5 of them. What about the last one? Tom went outside the store as Troy followed. Troy asked many questions but Tom did not answer any. The went to route 202, and then Tom finally talked.

"I only have one Pokemon on my team so far, how about you?" Asked Tom.

"I have two, but one my father lent me," Replied Troy

Tom then went on to a forest area, asking Troy to stay there, and as such Troy could not see that well. But then, Troy felt a chill in the air, it was a bit colder than before and soon Tom came back and said " Lets start this. both trainers got enough space and soon the battle started. Tom sent out a Starly. Troy sent out the Machop his father lent him.

"Where'd you get that Pokemon?" asked Troy Perplexed.

"Ill tell you after the battle," replied Tom.

"Starly, quick attack," Tom had started the battle. His Starly became surprisingly fast and was able to hit his Machop.

"Machop, grab that bird and do a low kick,"troy said looking at his father's Pokemon. Machop then grabbed Starly and did a kick to the abdomen. The match was even, and Tom was very impressed with Troy.

"That move was great, but this is where it ends, Troy," Tom said confidently. The shy man suddenly seemed bigger and more intimidating.

"Starly fly high, and do a feather dance. "There was feathers everywhere, and Machop was glowing a dark blue. Troy was confused that attack did no damage.

"why did you do that?" asked Troy.

"Feather dance lowers attack, you'll see" Said Tom.

Still confused Troy continued the battle.

"Machop vital throw" Machop was getting ready for an attack when Starly came flying down.

"Starly, another feather dance," Tom ordered his pokemon. once again feathers rained down, and Machop glowed dark blue again. Machop was able to hit Starly.

"Yes!" screamed Troy as he saw the attack connect.

He turned to see if the battle was over. Tom was smiling, and Starly had barely taken damage.

Feather dance was more than what Troy expected vital throw usually did a lot of damage.

"Starly, finish it with aerial ace," Tom ordered his Pokemon confidently. The wings of Starly started glowing.

"Machop, dodge," Troy cried, but it was too late. The Starly hit the Machop with one of his wings in a chopping motion, knocking the superpower Pokemon down.

The superpower Pokemon tried standing up, but it was too much damage and was knocked down.

Troy Sent Machop back to his pokeball.

Tory then took out his second Pokemon.

"Let's go Chimchar, use ahh..." Troy did not know any of the Pokemon's attacks.

"Look in your pokedex it tells you your Pokemon's attacks," explained Tom.

Troy took out his pokedex and saw the attacks Chimchar had.

"Chimchar use scratch,"Tom said. Chimchar then went on to jump and try to scratch Starly.

"Starly, quick attack," Tom said. Starly moved swiftly, seeming twice as fast as before and hit Chimchar, knocking him down and making him not complete the attack.

Troy let out a growl and continued his attack.

"Chimchar use Ember," Troy said. Chimchar released fire from his mouth.

"Now Starly use double team." Tom ordered. Starly created many copies of itself and the ember Chimchar threw hit one of it's many copies.

"Chimchar go for a scratch." Tom said confused. Chimchar also seemed confused, which copy was he supposed to hit?

"Starly, quick attack" Tom said, Starly then moved quickly as his copy disappeared and was able to connect hurting Chimchar further.

"What am i supposed to do?, I already used all my attacks and i still can't hit him," Troy cried in pain.

Troy was disappointed, He could not even touch Starly now. As Troy was looking down he saw something and an idea came to him.

"Chimchar, leer." Chimchar gave a leer at Starly making him glow dark blue.

" Now Chimchar, use ember." A flame once again flew from the mouth of Chimchar.

"Leer lowers defense, not special defense, you know that right?" asked Tom as he commanded Starly

"Starly, use double team." Starly once again dodged the attack, making Chimchar hit one of the clones,

"now use, quick attack." Starly moved swiftly, but was slower than before, his fatigue got the best of him.

Starly quickly closed the distance.

"Chimchar, use Flame Wheel," Troy screamed out. Chimchar was then engulfed in fire and stared to spin toward the rushing Starly.

"Starly, go faster," screamed Tom, Starly then seemed to snap out of the fatigue and flew faster than even before.

The impact was huge, a wind that seemed to be that of a giant fan, a fire engulfing the scene. Nothing but smoke was seen after.

"Did that do it?" asked Troy.

The smoke cleared up and both Pokemon where still standing.

"Is it over?" asked Tom, but both Pokemon where able to hold on for their trainers.

Starly seemed to be badly damaged, as Chimchar was just a bit scratched up.

"We got this Chimchar," said Troy looking at the other Pokemon.

As Troy spoke the Starly started glowing a bright blue.

"What is that?" asked Troy,

"Our second chance!" exclaimed Tom.

Starly started changing Shape. He turned bigger, and seemed stronger than before, although he was still badly damaged.

"Chimchar it's still badly damaged we can win this." Troy reminded himself as well as Chimchar.

"Staraptor, use quick attack." Staraptor seemed to move without problems, and hit Chimchar in the blink of an eye. Chimchar took a lot of damage but was still holding up.

"Chimchar use ember," said Troy, as Chimchar threw a flame at the Predator Pokemon.

"Staraptor double team", Staraptor was able to produce even more copies of himself than before. Once again ember hit one of the copies that Staraptor made.

"Let's end this Staraptor, use quick attack." the bird swiftly moved to attack position.

"Chimchar flame wheel." Chimchar was once again surrounded by fire, but this time before he started his spin, Staraptor was able to hit him.

Chimchar took a lot more damage and could barely stand up.

"Now Staraptor end it with another quick attack," Tom said

As Tom said this Chimchar started glowing red. "Is this evolution? asked Troy. He then took a better look and saw his Chimchar, not change, but somehow he looked stronger. He understood then that the attack would work.

"Chimchar Flame wheel," Chimchar's flame intensified. every part of the attack seemed stronger.

Staraptor, continued his attack and once again both clashed. This time, even with the power increased, Chimchar failed to knock down Staraptor, and in turn got knocked out.

This was not all the battle had in store. The attack caused a burn on Staraptor making it faint as well.

The man who looked so weak, was actually really strong, and even intimidating during a battle. The battle ended in a double KO.

Tom was very impressed with Troy, as his first battle this would be the greatest experience he could of gotten. That battle cleared up what he saw in his eyes before it, and this made tom happy. Then he saw Troy sulking, to which he responded with.

"Why are you sad? With this battle not only did your Pokemon grow, you also grew. I can tell you're gonna be a mighty good trainer."

"But i lost how did I grow?" asked Troy.

"Not everybody wins their first match, and certainly nobody comes up with your kind of strategies on their first try," replied Tom

"I think giving you that something will not be a waste." Tom then continued.

Troy felt good about himself, after all the best trainer in the world actually praised him. Troy then also realized he finally overcame his first big Obstacle to becoming a great Pokemon trainer, his first battle.

After the battle Troy and Tom went to the Pokemon Center in Sadgem town to heal their Pokemon.

"you wanna leave tomorrow?" asked Tom.

"Sure, but when are you gonna give me that something?" Replied Troy.

"When we get to Juffilibe city, you'll get it," Said Tom

"And one more question, where did you get that Staraptor you have now?" asked Troy.

"I caught it in Route 202," Replied Tom.

"That was not even your Pokemon?" cried Troy.

"You still got a lot to learn if you think I had that Pokemon," Replied Tom.

The two Trainer set off early in the morning and continued their travels.

Ok. First things first, you'll need to iron out your formatting. Make sure that each paragraph is separated with a line break:

Like this. If you do that with most paragraphs but miss some it'll just be distracting for the reader. Second of all new line for all dialogue, especially for the battle scenes. You've got two really chunk blocks of text at the end there, and it's difficult to read. Most people also prefer line breaks between lines of dialogue as well - I know it was something pointed out to me more than once when I published my story

Chapter 3

Troy and Tom once again reached the end of Sadgem town after traveling out of the Pokemon center, but this time Troy admired Tom. This time Troy knew they would be okay, and that they would reach the city safely.

They traveled down route 202 meeting more Pokemon and fighting each one away. This lead to Chimchar getting more experience. At night they finally reached the town.

In the town there was many things still going on, you could say Jubilife never sleeps. Its enormous amounts of energy supplies keep the city alive all night long. The streets filled with performers, the buildings still as lively as ever. The night only filled the city with more light then the sun did.

"Wow this town is amazing, it's really colorful," said Tom.

"Yep we're the town that never sleeps," Troy said proudly, lifting his chest.

"I can see that. Wait you're from here?" Tom asked, looking at Troy.

"Yep bred and born, well that's what my parents say anyways," answered Troy.

The man was surprised and looked amazed by the people who were performing. He then went up to one and soon was clapping as the performance was enjoyable giving the man 1000 poke.

"Wow, I've never seen something as such," Tom said.

"Don't get too distracted" Tom said.

"we can spend the night in my house," Troy continued moving toward the center of the city.

"Cool, I get to meet your parents and tell them about your journey," Tom said following Troy.

They arrived at the house, an orange spectacle. The front yard was beautiful imitating a garden, the house was not big, and it was just regular but the colors and contrast made it seem like it was elegant.

"You have a great place," Tom said to Troy.

"Yeah, I forgot to take a look at my house when I left so I kinda forgot it was like this," replied Troy.

They both entered the house with a key Troy had in his hand.

"I'm home," Screamed Troy.

As soon as they heard this the parents came rushing down and hugged their son, paying no attention to the man besides them.

"Have you eaten well? Have you changed?, taken a shower?, please tell me you did not get hurt," his mother just keep on going on

"Did you get your Pokemon? and do you have my Machop?" asked his dad.

"Yes, yes, yes, yes to everything!" Troy Screamed.

"We're just gonna spend the night so just let me go," Troy said as he tried getting away from the hugs.

The parents let go of Troy and soon stared at the stranger. They sized him up and just shook their heads at each other.

"Welcome to our house," said Troy's dad.

"We are glad to have you," said Troy's mom.

"Just one question?" said Troy's dad.

"Who exactly are you?" Troy's mom said.

"I am Tom, the regulator," Said Tom shyly.

"The regulator hah," said Troy's dad.

"Well... why not say that before, welcome," said Troy's mom.

The parents had an extra futon for the man and they all slept comfortably that night. The Dawn soon came and Troy and Tom were ready to leave on their travels. Troy's parents once again had to say goodbye to their son. This time his father could not take it.

"Troy you can't go yet," said his father grabbing his son's arm.

"Why not," said Troy.

His father looked confused, and was just trying to get his son to stay. He then got an idea, one he though was great.

"You have to prove your worth to me," said Troy's dad releasing his son's arm.

"What do you mean by that? asked Troy.

"Have a battle with me," the dad said.

"Your on dad," Troy answered.

They moved on to the fields of Jubilife City where the arenas lay. As they were traveling Tom noticed that even at this time the streets were full of performers and many people. Troy noticed this as well.

"Never thought it would be like this at dawn did you?" Asked Troy.

"Never," replied Tom.

They kept on moving the city seemed to be infinite, no ending was close. Tom then saw some sand arenas. They went into the fields and prepared to fight. The father and son soon moved to the fighting positions.

"Ready son," asked the dad
"Ready," replied Troy

The referee was Tom and he started them off. This will be a one-on-one battle The regular rules are in place the first to KO wins.

"Lets go Machoke," said Troy's dad sending out the superpower Pokemon.

"Chimchar, I choose you," screamed Troy as he let out his trusted Pokemon.

The battle soon started.

"Machoke let's end this quickly, vital throw," said Troy's dad. The Superpower Pokemon got ready to attack.

Troy saw this as the opportunity to strike.

"Chimchar flame wheel," The Chimp Pokemon out speed his opponent and was able to hit, and hit hard.

This made Machoke lose his balance and miss the attack.

"Machoke low sweep," The Machoke threw a kick at the Chimp Pokemon, who was still regaining his balance, the Pokemon was easily hit. Chimchar stood up quickly Glowing a dark blue.

This made troy get an idea.

"Chimchar leer," Troy said. The Chimchar leered at the Pokemon making it glow dark blue.

His dad was confused by the action.

"Machoke Submission," He said. The Pokemon then tried to get close to Chimchar but it out sped it again making it fail the attack.

"Chimchar leer," Once again the Pokemon leered at his opponent making it glow dark blue.

Once again the father was confused.

"Chimchar another quick leer," The Pokemon leered making the Superpower Pokemon Glow blue a third time.

This time his father spoke up.

"What are you doing son you have yet to land a solid hit and even damage my Machoke!"

"You'll see," replied Troy.

"Machoke, vital throw," The Pokemon got ready to attack.

"Chimchar let's create some distance, ember." The Chimp Pokemon threw a flame out of his mouth making Machoke back up. This was broken by Machoke's attack and hit Chimchar.

Chimchar still stood up and was able to continue.

"Shh, Chimchar leer one more time" The chimp Pokemon leered a fourth time and activated its effect.

"Son, its about time I end this, Machoke, Vital Throw." Machoke once again got ready to attack.

"Dad it was fun but, I need to go, Chimchar, end it with Flame wheel." The Chimp Pokemon soon was engulfed in flames The chimp Pokemon started his spin toward the superpower Pokemon.

Both Pokemon Collided. The Machoke was too strong and was able to win the confrontation. The Chimp pokemon was sent flying but was able to regain his balance.

"Machoke, Seismic Toss," said Troy's dad smiling. The Machoke was ready to strike, it grabbed the Chimp pokemon, and was ready to throw him.

"Chimchar no!" Screamed Troy watching his Pokemon being grabbed.

"You're not good enough to leave son," his dad said.

"I'm not so sure about that," said Tom.

"Just look at the battle," he continued.

The Machoke dropped Chimchar and fell backwards leaving him knocked out.

As troy saw this he let out a victory scream and his dad just looked not being able to believe what happened.

"The victory goes to Troy," Tom said lifting his right hand.

After the battle Troy's mom prepared a picnic and they all ate, and talked.

"How did I lose?" asked Troy's dad.

"Simple" Started Tom.

"Your Machoke did not feel the pain until it was too late, having its defense lowered that much, it felt the shock afterward," He explained.

"I did not get a single word of that," said the father.

"It means you lost in the end honey," said the mother.

They all laughed and soon they found themselves back by the house. They were all sitting in the living room having a nice talk. Then Troy remembered the thing Tom promised him.

"Tom, so the thing you promised," Troy told Tom.

"Oh yeah let me go and get it," Tom then got up left the house.

The parents looked confused and stared at their son. The son the got the feeling he had to explain.

"Tom just promised me he would give me something when we left Sadgem town."

The parents where still not comprehending when Tom walks in with his hands hiding behind his back. I have it here. Troy noticed Tom had more pokeballs in his belt. Tom then turned his hands

"Tada," he said showing off an egg.

"You're giving me breakfast," replied Troy.

"No this is a Pokemon egg," started Tom

"It will soon hatch and reveal itself," Tom explained.

Troy was excited at the thought anything could come out of this egg. He was wondering what kind of Pokemon would come out of it. Without anything else further to do our adventurers left the town, and continued on their journey.

Chapter 4


Troy and Tom had left Jubilife and where traveling down route 203, as Tom was traveling to the first gym leader.

"So where exactly are we going Tom?" asked Troy.

"The first gym leader Roark, he lives in Oreburgh city, a mining city," replied Tom.

"Oh!" said Troy.

"What exactly is a gym leader?" He then asked.

Tom was surprised he forgot this kid lived in Jubilife a non gym town, and never went to the trainer school. He then decided on something.

"Troy you want to be the strongest trainer there is, right?" Tom asked.

Troy nodded, he knew this man was the strongest trainer and had to pass him at one point.

"A gym leader is a person that gives you the opportunity to do so, by defeating them you can get to the championship," Tom started.

"The conference championship is where the toughest trainers of the region meet and fight," Tom then finished.

At hearing this Troy's eyes shone brightly as he got pumped and screamed a deep yeah.

After this they reached a cave, one that lead to Oreburgh city.

"We are almost there," said Tom.

As they entered the cave both of them heard a scream, the scream came toward the opposite direction the cave's exit was. This made Tom and, eventually Troy following, go the direction of the scream.

The cave kept on going down and they found themselves at a big open space. They found the source of the scream a girl being chased by Zubats.

Tom summoned his Staraptor and made him do a Defog, making all the Zubat disappear. Troy then went up to the girl, only to receive a hug from her. This made Troy blush.

"I was here and then those Zubat attacked there were too many for me to protect myself." She said detaching herself from Troy.

Troy was able to get a better look. His heart skip a beat, He had never seen a girl that pretty. She was like a doll, her skin was fair and her hair was a beautiful blond. every clothing item and accessory could of looked good on her. Today she was wearing a Pink skirt along with a black tank-top. The best part about her was that she was his age. He got an nervous and spoke without thinking.

"You're very pretty," said Troy.

The girl stared at Troy confused and soon blushed. She got a bit nervous and started speaking loudly with a high pitch.

"Thank you, but flattery will get you nowhere, I only go for strong boys," She said.

Tom saw the interaction and said a few things of his own.

"Troy is pretty strong, you know," Tom started.

"He almost tied against me the last time we battle," Tom then finished.

The girl then took a look at the man and saw that he looked a bit weak.

"You must be a chump then," She remarked.

Troy was infuriated by this and started arguing with the girl. Tom just looked at both the kids and then smiled.

"Tom is the strongest trainer, he is the regulator," Troy started his argument.

"He must have just told you that," countered the girl.

"No, the professor also said this," Troy clarified.

"Well there is only one way to see if that's true," the girl then said.

"what is it?" asked troy

"A battle," she said

"You're on," Troy said.

"But first let's get out of here, this place scares me," the girl said.

They all traveled out of the cave and headed toward Oreburgh, where they went to the arena. Troy was too busy being angry to really look at the scenery. They soon reached the arena's and Tom was the first to speak.

"Before we start can we have your name?" Tom asked the girl.

"Alexa Minon," The girl said proudly.

Tom had heard her name before. He could not remember, Exactly where he had heard that name but he knew it was important.

"Alright, lets start," said Troy

The kids both went to their sides to start the match. Tom then started the match.

"The rules are normal it's a one-on-one whoever is knocked out loses," Tom said.

Troy took out his Chimchar. Alexa took out an Eevee, rather it was as cute as her. It was also wearing a pink bow-tie.

"They're both really cute, too bad that's all they are," thought Troy.

"Eevee start it off with a covet," Eevee reached out to Chimchar.

"Chimchar, dodge and counter with flame wheel." Chimchar quickly jumped above and was inside flames, going into a spin. The Chimchar hit the Eevee hard and Eevee got a burn. Eevee could not stand up.

"Eevee, Refresh." The Eevee started glowing and soon her burn was healed. Even with this the Eevee could barely stand up since it took too much damage.

"Chimchar finish it off with another flame wheel."

Alexa was crying, her Eevee could no longer dodge, this was the end.

"Eevee, attract" Alexa screamed at the top of her lungs. Eevee seemed to wink at Chimchar. Chimchar stopped his attack entirely.

"Chimchar what happened to the flame wheel?" asked Troy. He took another look at Chimchar. He was completely infatuated.

"Chimchar, Ember" Troy said. Chimchar still would not move.

"Eevee, quick attack" This attack seemed to be graceful rather than fast.

"Chimchar, dodge and use flame wheel" Troy said. Chimchar, seeing his love run towards him would not budge. He got hit hard with a quick attack. To Chimchar it did not matter.

"Chimchar don't be fooled," Troy screamed to no avail.

"Eevee another quick attack" Eevee then once again did her graceful quick attack hitting Chimchar head on a second time.

"Chimchar, scratch, ember, flame wheel, leer, do something," Troy started crying. Chimchar still paid no mind to the human.

"Eevee, finish it off with a quick attack" said Alexa, as she saw the chimp Pokemon could not take much more.

Eevee once again started her graceful attack.

"Chimchar please listen to me, I'm your trainer," started Troy.

"Use flame wheel and take the girls down," Chimchar finally reacted. He was soon engulfed in flames. His fire and spin seemed more powerful than before.

"Eevee dodge," said Alexa to no end since her Eevee was already too close. Chimchar was able to beat the graceful quick attack and beat the Eevee.

"The battle is over, the winner is Troy," said Tom. Both trainers took their Pokemon back to their pokeball.

Alexa Soon turned sweet and radiated. She ran up to Troy and grabbed his arm, locking arms. She turned toward Troy and smiled.

"You're my boyfriend now," She said.

Troy just blushed and kind of accepted this.

Tom came up to the two and was surprised by the development. Tom then remembered where he had heard the name.

"So what where you doing in that cave?" asked Tom, seeing as how Troy wasn't gonna speak any time soon.

"I lost to the gym leader so I was training with Eevee, when those Zubat came out, and my Eevee could not handle them all," she answered.

"So you're doing the gym challenge too?" Troy asked.

She did not answer and looked down. Tom understood what she was thinking, he felt the same way at one time in his life. She then started speaking.

"I gave up on that," She said sadly.

"You can never give up," said Troy.

"I just want to do something else," she said looking up.

Troy did not want to speak, after this he knew she was being serious about it, but not why. Tom saw them both being sad.

"You guys want to see something cool," Tom said.

Both kids nodded. Tom took them to the hotel where they would stay.

It was nighttime by the time they got there. The hotel seemed rather Impressive, and they just let Tom in like nothing.

"Tomorrow I will show you guys that you can do it if you try," Tom said.

"After I take on the gym leader right?" asked Troy.

"Are you sure you want to see it after?" Tom replied.

"Yes, the gym leader I will pay him back for Alexa," Troy replied.

"Okay," said Tom

Hearing this conversation made Alexa really happy. All three fell asleep quite comfortably, awaiting what would happen tomorrow.

Chapter 5

The next day started like any other. Troy woke up earlier than anyone else, and was out training with his Chimchar. Tom woke up after, and was watching the boy train. The last to wake up was Alexa and she woke up quite a bit after, she was looking outside her window only to see Troy training. She ran outside and was surprised to find both men already up.

"Do you guys do this all the time?" she asked Yawning.

"Early morning," Tom said.

They both then sat down and saw Troy train. Troy was focused on only one thing, The gym battle. Who was Roark? What Pokemon does he have? all these questions pooped through his mind. Troy then finished his training and they all ate breakfast together. They sat down at a dining table in the Hotel.

"So do you think Roark will be though?" Alexa asked Troy.

Troy was too nervous, and his mind was wondering. He did not even listen to the question. This made Alexa mad and she hit Troy with her foot under the table.

"Ow, why did you do that?" Asked Troy.

"Cause you don't deserve to be my boyfriend," She answered.

Troy just felt ashamed and stood up.

"I'm done," He said.

"I'm ready to challenge Roark," He then continued.

Troy then started heading out of the Hotel. Both Tom and Alexa were worried, Troy seemed too nervous. Tom then went up to Troy and tried to calm him down.

"Troy, do you even know where the gym is?" Tom asked him.

"It doesn't matter I have all day to find it," Troy then answered.

Troy kept on walking, Tom just sighed and started following Troy.

"I'll lead you there," Tom said as he passed Troy and hit him in the back.

This little push helped get Troy back on his regular pumped up mood and soon he was following Tom. Alexa was just left behind, as she noticed that she started chasing the boys down.

Troy, Tom, and Alexa all reached the gym. They saw another kid getting out of the gym, he was wearing a green shirt with green pants. He saw them all going into the gym. Troy did not really notice who he was but he looked happy so maybe he got a badge.

"Roark I've come to challenge you," Troy screamed.

His Scream could be heard through the gym. Troy then looked around and then he saw him. He looked strong and like a man who worked hard everyday. He looked way above everyone else there. The feeling of intimidation Troy got was indescribable.

"Oh, so a new challenge?" Roark said smiling.

"Yes, I've come to beat you," Troy's voice was shaky.

"Well then what are we waiting for?" Roark asked as he got to the battle field.

"Just one question," Said Roark.

"Ask away," Replied Troy now filled with adrenaline.

"How many gym badges do you already have?" Roark asked with a smirk.

"None," Troy replied once again losing confidence.

"Well I'll try not to make this too hard for you," Roark said with that smirk still on his face.

Troy was mad but there was nothing he could do. Troy got to his place on the ring and soon the battle had begun. They both sent out their Pokemon. Roark saw that his Pokemon was Chimchar. Troy saw a Pokemon he had never seen before, He saw his Pokedex and discovered the name Cranidos.

"Oh I forgot to ask but how many pokemon do you have?" Roark as soon as he saw Chimchar.

"This is my only one," Replied Troy.

"Hmm.. my gym is usually a 3 on 3 but just for today I'll let you go 1 on 1," Roark then said.

"Well, Thank you but this will be my only match so I hope you won't regret it," Troy said now sounding more confident.

The match started as the official said "this will be a 1 on 1, normal rules, the first to not be able to battle wins."

"Chimchar use Flame Wheel," Troy said. He started the battle with an attack he knew could do damage. Roark did not order Cranidos to do anything as the Chimchar got engulfed in flames and started a spin. The Chimp Pokemon hit Cranidos hard.

"Yes," said troy

"Now follow it up with an Ember attack." The Chimchar threw a fame out of his mouth and hit the Head Butt Pokemon Leaving a cloud of smoke in its way.

"This is easier than I thought," Thought Troy.

"Now Chimchar finish..." Troy then saw the Pokemon once the smoke cleared. Not one scratch on the Pokemon, this made troy speechless.

"Cranidos Rock tomb" The cranidos made rock appear above him and then they were launched at Chimchar, who despite dodging efforts hit him.

"Chimchar, NO!!!" Troy screamed as he saw that his Pokemon got hit. The Pokemon got up and was now glowing red.

"Cranidos don't let blaze activate, Extinguish it with Bulldoze." The ground started shaking and Chimchar was knocked down once again but this time his glow went away and he could no longer battle. The battle was over.

"The winner is Roark," The official said.

"Comeback when you have three Pokemon," Roark then said.

Troy could do nothing but cry, He had lost and there was nothing he could do. This was the most embarrassing moment in his life, and he could not do anything about it. Tom felt bad but he still had something he had to do. He pulled out a wallet thing from his back pocket.

"This is my Badge," Tom started.

"And this is your certification test." Tom then said smiling.

Roark looked at the badge and soon knew what this was about.

"I see," he started.

"I can do this any time," Roark then finished.

Roark and Tom moved over to the middle of the gym and assumed their fighting positions. The offcial then spoke.

"This will be a three on three, the first one to run out of Pokemon loses, Normal Rules."

The battle was a quick start with Roark sending out his Geodude. Tom then followed sending out his Staraptor.

"I thought you were the best trainer in the world, but it seems that you might have learned from the kid," Roark said.

"I am, and we will see who learns from who," Replied Tom.

"Staraptor finish this one quickly, steel wing," Tom said to start the battle. Staraptor's wing soon turned into a huge blade and it was charging at the Geodude.

"Underestimate, Geodude will you?" Roark said as the Geodude was hit. The Geodude then fainted and could not get up.

Roark was surprised, and Geodude was eliminated.

"Well, I guess your Staraptor was stronger than I though," Roark then said, sending out his Onix.

"This one is a bit better than the last. I don't think you'll win as easily," Roark said sweating.

"Staraptor, Steel Wing." Staraptor's wings turned sharper than before and soon Onix was hit hard with Staraptor's wing, making the Pokemon faint.

Roark was extremely mad. A weak looking man was beating him without even trying. Roark saw the last Pokemon in his disposal, and sent him out.

"Staraptor, steel wing," Tom ordered a third time. The Staraptor got ready for an attack.

"Cranidos, Head smash," Both Pokemon were ready for an attack and the wings of Staraptor seemed to connect. At the same time after the Cranidos was able to hit the predator Pokemon hard with his head, making it faint.

"Take that," said Roark. He was ready to do battle with whatever Pokemon Tom sent out next.

"The battle is over the winner is Tom," Said the official.

Roark looked at the field and his Cranidos was out, cold.

"What happened?" asked Roark as he saw his Pokemon laying on the ground.

"Head smash is a very powerful move, but the recoil the move does is also incredible," replied Tom.

"Since it did so much damage after my Pokemon already had your Pokemon weak, it could not take the recoil," He then finished.

"Well i guess it was good being a gym leader," Roark said looking at the ground.

"Actually I think you are more than capable," Tom said.

These words made Roark smile and he then felt the need to become stronger.

"I will become stronger and be a better gym leader than before," said Roark.

"Why don't you visit again in a week and we will have our rematch us both being stronger?" He then said to Troy.

Troy just smiled and nodded. Troy was to challenge this new gym leader in a week and he would be stronger there was nothing more exciting than that to Tom. All his nervousness went away and he promised Roark to fight him with everything he had.

"Why don't we make it another 1 on 1?" asked Roark.

Tom smiled and replied

"Next time me and Chimchar will not lose."

They both then came out of the gym and trained for the whole week. Roark trained in the mines while Troy trained with tom. That short week was then over and both trainers are now ready for the rematch. Both ready to to take each other on with their full strength. But what exactly happened during that one week?

Chapter 6

The stage was set, Troy vs Roark in a battle of skills, testing the limits of troy's team. Who was going to win? Neither trainer seemed to back down as both stared intently at their Pokemon. No time to breathe. No one could believe what they saw at the conclusion.

Last week...

Troy and Tom are exiting the gym, both exited for the rematch of Troy and Roark. Troy was amazed by what he just saw, a clean sweep, by the same Pokemon he was able to tie, against a Pokemon he couldn't even touch. Troy was not only amazed by what he saw, he was also more ready then ever to have a battle. They then saw Alexa running to them, out of breath.

"Whats wrong? And how come i didn't see you in there?" Troy asked concerned.

"I talked to the boy that was coming out of the gym, and I found out he earned the badge," Alexa responded. She saw that Troy was concerned.

"I also went to the store to buy the stuff i needed to cheer you on," She said as she took out pom-poms.

Troy and Tom both laughed, and all three of them left toward the hotel.

"So you lost, then saw a complete sweep by tom?" Alexa asked as they were walking.

Troy nodded and turned his head to Tom.

"Do you think my Chimchar can learn something to counter the rock type?" Troy asked Tom.

"I think if you think and try new things you might be able to learn something," Tom answered.

Troy nodded, and then ran toward the battlefields. Alexa soon followed him. Tom then followed.

Troy then started to try new things, starting with trying to teach his Chimchar steel wing. Unfortunately for him, Chimchar didn't have wings. He then realized that he needed to have another attack. He looked in his Dex, and soon realized that Chimchar could learn something. He practiced all day long and was soon able to perform the attack. He then spent the week trying to perfect the attack. He was able to at least use the attack proficiently by the end of the week.

For Roark...

Roark was sad that he had been swept, but he had gained a motivation he never had before. He then went to the mines for a week with his Pokemon. Each one learning new things. His Cranidos was having a hard time learning the new moves Roark was trying to introduce to him. His Cranidos only ended up worse and worse each time.

"Cranidos we can give up on this, we are already good enough," Roark said looking down.

His Cranidos was strong willed and was soon practicing the moves again, and again only to fail each time. The Pokemon gave a huge roar and started practicing again. Roark was only getting sadder and sadder. The emotion of the Pokemon was surging through. Suddenly the Pokemon started glowing blue. The light of evolution started, soon the Pokemon turned into Rampardos a stronger, more versatile Pokemon. The Pokemon was then able to perform the moves easily. Roark was ecstatic, he knew he was ready to challenge anyone.

He went back to the gym and started to accept challenges demolishing everyone with the help of Rampardos. His new move set was beyond what any first time challenger could take. Roark knew he was ready to take anything Troy had to give him, even if the regulator had helped him.

A while back...

Troy was up early that morning more nervous than before. He was ready for the challenge and knew that if Roark surpassed him this time, his dream as a trainer would be in danger, how could someone who cannot beat a gym leader be the best. He ran into Tom going outside, seeing as how Troy was nervous he just aid a few words to him.

"Troy you will do just fine I can see the huge improvement in a week, I just want you to know that," Was what Tom said.

This made Troy calm down, he was still very nervous but now he could think, think about beating Roark think about his strategy, think about anything else but losing and it's consequences. He decided then it was time.

Soon Troy, Tom, and Alexa all reached the Gym together, all convinced today would be a huge day for everyone. Roark and Troy saw each other both knowing that this was the day the were waiting for.

"Troy I can see you have grown stronger," said Roark as they both were lining up to battle.

"I will win this time Roark," Troy said enthusiastically.

"Why don't we get started, so you can try and prove that," Roark said as he took out his Rampardos.

"We will win," said Troy taking out his Chimchar.

The referee then said the rules and the match was soon underway.

"Chimchar start it off with a flamethrower," Troy said, as the Pokemon started to blow a huge flame from its mouth.

"Impressive, but not enough to beat me," Roark said as Rampardos was able to dodge the attack.

"Chimchar, let's go for a flame wheel." The Chimchar was soon engulfed in flames, and started spinning toward his foe.

"Rampardos, use thunder punch," Troy said. The head butt Pokemon the had thunder coming out his fist, hitting the spinning Chimchar.

"Chimchar don't give up, use flamethrower." The Chimp Pokemon soon stopped it's spin and conjured up a huge flame from it's mouth. The flame was able to hit the Rampardos, making it move back.

"Rampardos, use Head smash," Roark said. The Rampardos was then ready for an attack it started running toward Chimchar.

"Chimchar, use flamethrower on the ground," Tom said as he though of that idea. Chimchar soon made a flame come out of his mouth and into the ground, making it fly up. The Rampardos missed the attack.

"Chimchar from up there use flame wheel," The Chimchar took the flames from it's mouth and put them all around his body and started spinning toward Rampardos.

"Rampardos, Head smash," Both Pokemon hit each other hard, each sustaining a lot of damage.

Troy knew his Chimchar could of taken a fatal blow with that. He was going to give up then, when he heard a cheer, it was Alexa and her Eevee. They were cheering for him and his Chimchar. He felt motivated again, his dream was not going to fade so fast. He then saw Tom staring at him, as if expecting something from him. Troy screamed toward his Chimchar telling him to get up.

The Chimchar and Rampardos both stood up. Chimchar then started glowing red.

"You're lucky that the attack didn't hit head on," Said Roark.

"You're lucky your attack was even able to hit," said Troy.

"Rampardos, use bulldoze and finish this off," Roark said with confidence. Rampardos lifted his feet, and then troy called out to his Chimchar

"Chimchar, grass knot!" There was a root springing up at Rampardos' feet, knocking it out of balance.

"Chimchar Flame wheel!" Chimchar was soon covered in flames, intensified by blaze it was able to hit really hard. The Rampardos was then knocked down into the ground.

"Rampardos, no stand up," said Roark looking at his Pokemon. The Rampardos was trying hard to stand up.

"Chimchar finish it off with Flamethrower," the Chimchar threw an intense flame from it's mouth this one bigger than all the others, hitting the Pokemon on the ground.

Rampardos could no longer stand up, the battle was over. Everyone took a deep breath and soon the referee was able to react.

"The winner is Troy," he said lifting his hand toward Troy's side.

Roark took a few seconds to react, but he just smiled and gave Troy the badge. He took his badge out of a chest he had in the gym.

"Here is your award for beating me," Roark said handing him the badge.

Troy was extremely happy, as he was about to run toward Chimchar he saw a glowing light, it was the light of evolution. His Chimchar evolved into Monferno, the Playful Pokemon. Troy hugged his new Monferno. Alexa, and Tom ran towards Troy, waiting to celebrate his victory. Troy then let go of Monferno and went up to Alexa and Tom. He kissed Alexa on the cheek.

"You really helped me, I though I was gonna lose but your cheer gave me energy," Troy said

Alexa couldn't say anything she just mumbled as Troy went up to Tom. Troy was really, and both smiled at each other.

"So where are we going next?" asked Troy.

"Back to Jubilife," said Tom

"Not this again" Troy said as he face palmed.

The trainer and his friends went back to their journey after the events of today.

Chapter 7

The travelers are once again on their journey, having to pass through Jubilife once again. Troy seems kind of sad with Tom and Alexa being really excited.

"Why so sad?" asked Alexa, noticing Troy.

"His parents live in Jubilife," Tom said, smiling.

"We get to see my in-laws," Said Alexa excited.

"In-laws? you barely know me," Troy said.

"Don't tell them we're dating or they're gonna get really annoying," Troy then continued.

The adventurers soon reached their destination early morning, and seeing the city Alexa and Tom started to wonder the streets. They were looking at the street performers, While Tom got on the phone trying to reach his parents.

"Wow, this is like my hometown in Hoenn," said Alexa.

"You're from Hoenn?" asked Tom, he was trying to put the name and place together.

"Yeah me and my family," Alexa responded.

They continued looking left and right, everything they saw amazed them further, both with different reasons. Troy then found them.

"Okay so it looks like my parents are home, so let's go," He said.

The adventurers headed toward Troy's house, once again at the slowest pace possible, taking their time to look at every big city attraction they could. They finally arrived at Troy's house at sundown.

"I don't see why it was necessary to visit everything in this dang town, but after so much time wasted we have arrived at this my humble house," Troy said sarcastically.

Tom and Alexa were already opening the door when Tom had finished his line. Troy ran after them whispering the things Alexa needed to remember.

"Remember we are just on the journey together, not dating," He whispered.

"Okay, I'll remember," Alexa said back.

Alexa was the first through the door. She approached Troy's parents really quickly and started talking to them.

"Hello I'm Alexa Minon and I am Troy's girlfriend. Can I can you mom and dad?" Alexa started before Troy got to her.

Their parents just looked at them, then they looked at themselves, then they themselves started.

"Of course you can call us mom and dad," Troys mom started.

"We are just lucky to have a daughter as cute as you," said his father.

"Troy why did you not tell us about this?" his mother asked.

"Yeah let us know when you get a cute girlfriend like this," his father then said.

"Okay, okay can I rest now?" Troy said.

"Alright then," Both his parents said.

Troy, having taken all his travel gear went up to his room leaving his companions to deal with his parents. Troy's parents seemed to get serious.

"Tom, Alexa, is our son eating right? Is he taking his showers? Is he not staying up? Is he a great trainer?" The parents started to question Tom and Alexa with all these questions.

Alexa was freaking out not knowing how to answer any of them in the way they would be pleased. Tom seeing her smiled and nodded at the worried parents. This smile made the parents confident that Troy was in the right hands.

"If it ain't much we ask that you guys keep looking after my kid," Troy's mom said.

"He ain't the best kid but he's our treasure," his father said.

Alexa was really happy seeing as how the parents trusted their kid, she smiled, but then she remembered her own parents. Her smile started twisting. She battled against the feeling and she got her original smile back.

"Sure thing," said Tom smiling and nodding.

Tom's parents were relieved, then they soon turned to their original selves.

"Would you guys want food," Troy's mother asked.

"Sure thing," Tom and Alexa replied simultaneously.

"Well what are we waiting for we made the food already," Troy's dad said.

Troy came down the stairs, changes into his sleeping attire. He saw that everyone was headed to the dining room and soon joined them. Alexa sat down near Troy, having Tom sit next to her.

"Are you still mad at me?" Alexa asked.

"Not at all, it might have been a problem at first but now I'm glad that's been taken out of the way," He responded

His parents hearing that got angry and started an assault on Troy.

"Oh so you really weren't gonna tell us?" They both asked.

"Yeah but not right now," troy answered.

Both parents looked at each other and smiled as they said "that's our boy" out loud. Troy was confused, what did they mean? As he was wondering, Tom and Alexa started laughing.

"Well Troy it look like your parents know you," Tom said as he contained his laughter.

"Wait did they tell you something when I wasn't there? What was it?" Troy started questioning.

"Nothing," Alexa said quickly before she had to say something.

"Oh well," said Troy knowing his parents they probably said something about him.

"Oh yeah Alexa after dinner do you want me to show you Troy's baby pictures?" Troys mother then asked looking at Alexa.

"Mommm, don"t show her anything," Troy said whining.

"For sure miss," Alexa said giving Troy's mom a thumbs up.

Everyone but Troy laughed. The next day Troy and his companions once again set off on their journey, after having said goodbye to Troy's parents that is.

"So where are we off to now?" asked Troy.

"Off to Eterna city," Tom replied.

I just finished reading through the chapters you’ve put up so far. Right away I want to acknowledge that you’ve already spent a lot of time writing this story (seven long posts is nothing to sneeze at). One of the two most important activities for improving as a writer is a dedication to writing (the other is reading other writers' works)—if you don’t write, you can’t become a good writer. Your seven posts also show that you’re excited about what you’re writing, which is always a good thing.

Reactions while reading the story:
- I was really worried when Tom was giving Roark his certification test that Tom would take his gym away after beating him. I’m suuuuuuuper relieved he encouraged him instead.
- Alexa sure can be annoying… But I’m glad she also cares about Troy, what with cheering for him and all.

Advice:
Like Beth Pavell was saying in her post above, it would really benefit your story if you worked more on your formatting. Having a poorly formatted story makes it much harder for people to read it, and really discourages them from doing so. I’ll use one of your paragraphs as an example (this is from chapter two):

"Starly, quick attack" Tom had started the battle. His Starly became surprisingly fast and was able to hit his Machop. "Machop, grab that bird and do a low kick". Machop then grabbed Starly and did a kick to the abdomen. The match was even, and Tom was very impressed with Troy. "That move was great, but this is where it ends, Troy." Tom said confidently. The shy man suddenly seemed bigger and more intimidating. "Starly fly high, and do a feather dance. "There was feathers everywhere, and Machop was glowing a dark blue. Troy was confused that attack did no damage. "why did you do that?" asked Troy. "feather dance lowers attack, you'll see" Said Tom. Still confused Troy continued the battle. "Machop vital throw" Machop was getting ready for an attack when Starly came flying down. "Starly, another feather dance" once again feathers rained down, and Machop glowed dark blue again. Machop was able to hit Starly. "Yes" screamed Troy as he saw the attack connect. He turned to see if the battle was over. Tom was smiling, and Starly had barely taken damage. Feather dance was more than what Troy expected vital throw usually did a lot of damage. "Starly, finish it with aerial ace," the wings of Starly were glowing. "Machop, dodge," Troy cried, but it was too late. The Starly hit the Machop with one of his wings in a chopping motion, knocking the superpower Pokemon down. The superpower Pokemon tried standing up but it was too much damage and was knocked down. Troy Sent Machop back to his pokeball.

There are a number of formatting issues here:
- Start a new paragraph anytime you switch speakers or greatly switch topics.
- Place a blank line between each paragraph.
- Be sure to add enough “said Troy” and “Tom said” phrases in. When you switch speakers, it’s usually (though not always) required that you state who is speaking now. With this quoted section, there are only two speakers, so the reader can usually figure out who’s talking. But the point is that the reader shouldn’t have to figure it out—it should be obvious.
- Add the necessary punctuation. When you end a quote from a character and you’re placing a “Troy said” afterward, a comma (not a period, and not nothing) is necessary before the closing quotation mark. If you don’t put a “Troy said” afterward, then you need a period (not a comma and not nothing) before the closing quotation mark.

Here’s how it should look:

“Starly, quick attack.” Tom had started the battle. His Starly became surprisingly fast and was able to hit his Machop.

"Machop, grab that bird and do a low kick,” said Troy. Machop then grabbed Starly and did a kick to the abdomen.

The match was even, and Tom was very impressed with Troy. "That move was great, but this is where it ends, Troy,” Tom said confidently. The shy man suddenly seemed bigger and more intimidating. "Starly, fly high and do a feather dance." There was feathers everywhere, and Machop was glowing a dark blue.

Troy was confused that attack did no damage. “Why did you do that?" asked Troy.

“Feather dance lowers attack—you'll see,” said Tom.

Still confused, Troy continued the battle. "Machop, vital throw,” he said.

Machop was getting ready for an attack when Starly came flying down. "Starly, another feather dance,” said Tom. Once again feathers rained down, and Machop glowed dark blue again.

Machop was able to hit Starly. "Yes!” screamed Troy as he saw the attack connect. He turned to see if the battle was over. Tom was smiling, and Starly had barely taken damage. Feather dance was more than what Troy expected—vital throw usually did a lot of damage.

"Starly, finish it with aerial ace," Tom said. The wings of Starly were glowing.

"Machop, dodge," Troy cried, but it was too late. The Starly hit the Machop with one of his wings in a chopping motion, knocking the superpower Pokemon down. The superpower Pokemon tried standing up, but it was too much damage and was knocked down. Troy sent Machop back to his pokeball.

I highly recommend that you edit your previous posts so that they follow this formatting. I know it’s a lot of work, but formatting is a necessary part of writing if you want people to read what you’ve written. If you have any questions I’d be happy to answer them as best I can.

Chapter 8

Troy and the gang were walking into route 204 from Jubilife city when they encountered an injured Budew. the Budew was scratched up, and was out cold.

"Are you alright?" Troy asked the Budew.

The Budew was unresponsive. Troy approached it and grabbed it.

"What are you doing?" Alexa asked Troy.

"I'm taking it to the Pokemon center that's what," Troy responded.

He started running toward Jubilife, heading toward a Pokemon Center. Tom and Alexa soon followed. They arrived at the Pokemon Center soon after.

"Nurse Joy, can you help him out," Troy said showing her the Budew.

"I'll try my best, oh and by the way it's a she," said the nurse.

Troy grew embarrassed how was he supposed to know the gender of a Pokemon.

The Budew was taken into the operation room.

"I'm sure it'll be alright" Tom said to Troy, hearing no answer.

several hours passed and the operation was over. Tom pointed this out to Troy.

Troy started rushing toward the door. The nurse and a Chansey were coming out.

"Is she alright?" Troy asked grabbing on to the nurse.

"Are you the trainer? How could you let her get so much damage?" The nurse said.

"I'm not the trainer. I just saw her as I was going down route 204," Troy explained.

"Oh i see," started the nurse

"It's a good thing you brought her over when you did, or else..." The nurse paused.

"Can I see her?" Asked Troy.

"Sure but it might be a bit scared," The nurse replied.

The nurse headed toward the door, opening it so slightly. The Budew shot out of the room and started running toward the exit.

"Wait up," said Troy chasing the Budew.

"You guys stay here, she might come back," Troy said to Tom and Alexa.

Once the Budew reached the outside it seemed confused, where was it supposed to go? Troy caught up to it and grabbed it.

"Caught you," Troy said looking at the Budew.

The Budew seemed sad, like if it was worried about something. Troy looked at it and knew it had unfinished business where it came from.

"So you want to go back?" Troy asked the Budew.

The Budew smiled and let out a happy cry when it heard those words from Troy.

"Alright I'll take you back, but I'm coming with you," Troy said to the Budew.

Troy started heading toward the route and the Budew followed him. They both reached the route, and from there, the Budew took over running deep within the route.

The Budew came to a stop and tried to show Troy something in a nearby bush. Troy catching up to the Budew saw that it was trying to show it a terrifying scene.

There it was, a wild Roselia ruling in tyranny. All Pokemon with no option but to obey it, it being the strongest one there. It was getting their food, and making them work like slaves.

Troy understood then that the Budew got the injuries trying to fight the Roselia.

"Budew, are you gonna fight again?" Troy asked the Budew.

The Budew nodded.

"Let me help you, just follow my orders," Troy said smiling.

He jumped out with the Budew, surprising the Roselia.

"Attack now Budew," Screamed Troy seeing the surprised Roselia.

The Budew unleashed a huge storm of leafs, the attack looked rugged with little style. The Roselia just dodged the storm, jumping high into the air. The Budew glowed blue, then the Roselia started it's counter attack, launching leaves at the Budew.

"Dodge it Budew, do a barrel roll," Said Troy. The Budew threw itself on the ground and started rolling avoiding the leaves.

"Budew, jump and attack." The Budew jumped into the air, the Budew released a huge leaf, thrown at the direction of Roselia. The attack connected. Roselia fell back, not being able to comprehend what happened.

The Roselia then started doing a barrage of attacks, first sharp leaves, then it seemed to take energy from Budew, then it would just repeat the sequence of attacks. The Budew was soon damaged, and Troy saw that it could no longer attack. He took the Budew and ran away.

"Budew hang on we need more practice," he said carrying the damaged Budew.

He got to an empty place, then put the Budew down.

"Budew, I can help you better as your trainer," Troy started

"Will you join me?" He asked the Budew.

The Budew had a green glow, and soon was healed,and then it nodded at Troy. Troy knew this was the time to battle it to earn it's trust.

"Let's do this Monferno," Troy said, kissing the pokeball, proceeding to throw it.

The Fire Pokemon came out of it's pokeball, giving a huge roar.

The Budew started it's attack, sending it's huge leaf at Monferno.

"Monferno burn that leaf with your Flamethrower," Troy said. The Monferno summoned a huge flame from it's mouth, Burning the big leave coming at him.

"Now Monferno, use a Flame wheel." Monferno was soon surrounded by fire, It started spinning and soon hit the Budew.

Troy noticed that Monferno's attacks where bigger, and more powerful than before.

The Budew could no longer stand up, it also seemed to have sustained a burn. It only could take one of those hits from the battle before.

"Now how exactly do I catch it?" Though troy, both him and Monferno scratched their heads.

"I remember now," He said taking out a pokeball. He threw it at the Budew, but it did nothing.

"What happened?" Troy said, as Monferno walked toward the pokeball, and entered it.

"Oh, so that was yours," Troy said blushing as he took out another pokeball. He threw it one more time.

The pokeball shook once, twice, a third time, then a click was heard, Troy had caught his first Pokemon.

He called out his Budew, having it's burn gone. He then searched the Dex for it's moves.

"Wow you have quite the move set," He said, as Budew stood proudly.

"Let's make full use of it to get that Roselia," Troy then said, as him and Budew both ran back to where they were.

Troy and Budew had now reached the Roselia, no longer wanting to do a surprise attack they let themselves be known.

"Ok Roselia, your reign of ty..." Troy paused, he had forgotten the word he was gonna use. Every Pokemon there seemed to be staring at him.

"Terror... Is over," Troy continued, he then wanted to get the battle started, he had embarrassed himself enough today.

The Roselia started, it sent a bunch of leaves toward the Budew.

"Budew, dodge and counter with razor leaf" The Budew jumped into the air, dodging all the leaves coming at it. Then it let out a hige leaf, throwing it at the Roselia.

Troy knew immediately he could use this.

The Roselia, easily dodged that leaf, Then it threw a bunch of needles from it's arm at Budew. They connected.

"Budew, don't give up," Troy said with hesitation. He saw the hesitation in Budew as well. He knew he had to figure something out. Troy suddenly got an idea, and soon he was smiling, connecting himself with Budew, making it smile.

"Budew, Let's go for a ride" Troy said as Budew seemed confused.

The Roselia started it's barrage, the leaves, the draining, the leaves again. This left no room for Budew, as it was hit over and over again.

"Budew, NO!" Screamed Troy. He knew he had to do something about this problem first. He then knew his plan could destroy both.

"Budew, Synthesis," Troy said, as Budew glowed a green color, regaining it's strength.

"Now Budew before the attacks start again, jump." The Budew once again confused, just jumped at the command. Roselia knew it could attack from this position so it waited.

"Budew Razor leaf, and then ride it." Budew jumped on the leaf it created. The Roselia knew that is had to dodge this attack.

"Leaf storm," Troy said, as Budew jumped from the leaf, and soon a storm of leaves was hitting the Roselia, meanwhile Budew glowed blue.

"Now finish it Budew, Razor leaf," The Budew, conjuring a giant leaf hit the Roselia, knocking it out.

Troy ran up to Budew hugging it, knowing it had accomplished the goal it set out to do.

"Well it's time to say goodbye Budew," Troy said tears coming from his eyes. He started walking away when the Budew followed him. Troy saw that the Budew wanted to join him.

"Budew do you want to come with me?" Troy asked the Budew. The Budew nodded it's head.

"But what about your friends," Troy asked the Budew. The Budew nuzzled against Troys leg. Troy understood this, and took the Budew with him.

Troy reached the Pokemon center where Tom and Alexa were.

"Are you alright Troy?" Alexa asked Troy.

Troy saw himself in a mirror, he saw he was dirty.

"I'm fine," he said.

"Where is the Budew?" Tom asked Troy.

Troy then took out a pokeball.

"It's here," Troy said as he took out his Budew. The Budew stayed close to his leg.

Alexa and Tom were impressed Troy had caught his first Pokemon.

"Well let's go" Troy said, running outside.

"Wait for us" Alexa said also running to the outside.

Tom just shrugged and followed Troy and Alexa.

Re: The Regulator First of Two

Chapter 9

Troy and his friends had just gotten out of a cave leading to Floaroma town, after being lost for a while of course.

"So, your instincts lead us right out Troy, cause the map sure didn't" Alexa said sarcastically.

"I'm sorry, I though the exit was that way, I saw light" Troy said apologizing.

"Well don't worry about it, We are out now" Tom said.

"Whatever," Alexa said as she walked ahead.

Alexa then saw somebody on the ground far away. She ran towards the person, trying to help them out. She saw it was the same boy that had lost the gym badge. She then stopped for a second and went back to the group.

"I think we should help him," Alexa said looking at the boy on the ground.

"Alright, let's go" Troy said running toward the boy.

Troy reached him, but the boy stood up right away.

"What happened to you?" Troy asked the boy.

"Don't worry, me and my Piplup had a bit of a fight," the boy said.

Troy wondered what kind of fight they had since the boy had a red mark on it's head.

"Are you sure you're okay?" Troy asked the boy.

"Yeah, yeah I'm fine, I'm on my way to get another gym badge," The boy said.

Troy noticed the boy was around his age.

"You're also on a badge quest?" Troy said, looking at the boy.

The boy suddenly stroke a pose.

"Of course, it may be my first but every great trainer has to have a first." He said with full confidence.

"I'm also on my first-" Troy said before he was interrupted by the kid.

"Oh, but how famous I will be, I studied every day, and was even given my Pokemon a full three months before everyone else" The boy continued.

"Well I also want to-" Troy was interrupted once again.

"My name is Mark the future best trainer in the world," The kid said once again striking a pose.

"Well, you would have to go through me," Tom said reaching the place Troy and mark were.

"Who are you?" Mark asked confounded.

"I am well, umm the best... trainer in the world I guess," Tom said.

"A weak looking, stuttering man is the best, I guess I can take the world by storm." Mark then said.

"Well he might be weak looking, stuttering, and not the least bit attractive, but he is a strong trainer" Troy then said.

"Well now Troy, please don't help me too much" Tom said, not looking pleased by what Troy said.

Mark then saw Alexa standing next to Troy.

"Oh well if it is't an angel," Mark said now standing next to Alexa.

Troy was just too surprised about how he got there to say anything.

"Well, umm... hello" Alexa said surprised.

"Can I ask you out, maybe some coffee?"

Alexa regained her composure soon after.

"I don't really like coffee, and I'm sure my boyfriend would mind too," Alexa said getting closer to Troy.

"Oh I see, well then why not have a friendly battle, angels boyfriend," Mark then said.

Troy was confused by what just happened, but someone just asked him to battle, and he had to win, that's all he needed to know.

"You're on, oh and by the way my name is Troy," he said.

The gang then just found a place to battle near Floaroma town. Troy and Mark were ready to battle.

"So let's get this straight, it's a two on two, and I will win" Mark said.

"We will see," Troy responded.

They both took out their first Pokemon. Troy took out his most trustworthy Pokemon Monferno. Mark took out a Magneton.

Alexa being the referee started the battle.

"This will be a two on two, the normal rules apply, the first trainer to run out of Pokemon loses, begin. Oh and good luck Troy."

"Alright Mag, tackle," Mark said commanding his Pokemon. The Magneton rushed toward the Monferno wanting to tackle it.

"Monferno dodge, and then use Flame Wheel," Troy commanded. The Monferno jumped dodging the attack easily, then from the jump it started spinning, the it was soon surrounded by flames and hit the Magneton.

"Monferno, how original," Mark said laughing at the unnamed Monferno, making Troy angry.

"I dont see your nickname being better!" Troy screamed

"Mag thunderbolt," Mark then said also being angry. The Magneton summoned lighting.

"Monferno, dodge that and go in with your new attack mach punch" Troy then said. The Monferno instead just rushed the Magneton before it could attack, knocking it out.

"What just happened?" asked Troy.

"Mach punch is a priority move, it always strikes first," Tom then told Troy, while signaling than Mag could no longer battle.

Mark put Mag back on it's pokeball. He then took out another Pokemon, a Piplup. Troy also took Monferno back.

"Good job Monferno, but I want to use my new partner.

Troy then took out his new Pokemon, Budew.

"Let's go Budew," Troy said giving it a thumbs up.

Budew just ran toward Troy, staying close to him.

"Umm... Budew you have to go on to the battle" Troy said to no avail, seeing as how the budew was just nuzzling his leg.

"Are we gonna go or what?" Mark said.

The Budew got angry at Mark, and then took the battling position.

"Umm... why does your Budew look so mad? And why is it looking at me?" Mark said looking at the mad Budew.

Troy had no idea either. Just then he looked toward Alexa who seemed to be jealous

"Let's just go" Troy said.

"Pip, aqua jet" Mark started the battle.

"Budew dodge, then use razor leaf." The Budew threw itself on the ground and rolled dodging the aqua jet. The Budew then Threw it's huge leaf. THe piplup flinched, but the attack missed him, and headed toward his trainer. Mark barely dodged the leaf attack.

"Was your Budew trying to hit me?" Mark asked looking at the Budew, as the Budew seemed to click it's tongue.

"I'm sure it just missed it's target, it's never battled before," Troy then said now looking at Budew, it was smiling at him.

Mark then shook it off.

"Pip, Use bubble beam." The Piplup then let a stream of bubbles aimed at the Budew.

"Budew, let's take a ride" Troy said as the Budew nodded. Budew then jumped up throwing it's razor leaf, then riding it. The leaf took out the bubbles one by one, and closed in on Pip.

The Piplup was just running around in circles, it didn't know what to do.

"Pip get it together" Mark said freaking out.

Everyone just looked at Mark all thinking the same thing, Exactly like the trainer.

The razor leaf then hit the Piplup, who was still able to stand up.

"Budew, finish it with a leaf storm," Troy said. The Budew then created a rugged storm of leaves all aimed at Piplup, who could do nothing but flinch. The attack hit the Piplup and knocked it out.

Mark just fell to his knees knowing he lost the battle pretty bad.

Alexa then looked at Pip who was out cold.

"Pip is out, the winner is Troy." Alexa said as she then ran toward troy hugging him.

The Budew then got angry at her. It got in between her and Troy and started nuzzling at Troys leg. Alexa just looked at the Budew, who seemed to be laughing at her. She shook her heard and saw that the Budew was just Nuzzling Troy smiling.

Mark then got up and went up to Troy and Alexa.

"You won this time Troy, but I will win every other time," He said reaching his hand out to Troy.

Troy shook his hand and went on to respond.

"We'll see," Troy said as he smiled.

"From today onward we are rivals," Mark then said.

Troy just agreed.

After the battle everyone went on to Floaroma town. Mark then went on to say goodbye.

"Troy, I am going on ahead of you guys, I need to train some before reaching the next gym, we can battle some other day," Mark said.

"Alright, I'll see you later," Troy then said as they saw him leave.

"Oh but one more thing," Mark then said.

"What is it?" asked Troy.

"I am still gonna become the best trainer" Mark said striking a pose once again, then he just ran toward the next town.

"Do you think we should tell him he's heading toward Jubilife?" Troy then asked.

"He'll find out" Alexa then said.

Tom then felt that Troy had progressed a whole lot.

"Well let us head toward the next gym," Tom then said.

"Alright" Troy then said, as he started running toward the end of the city.

Tom and Alexa soon followed laughing seeing Troy being ready for his next challenge.

Chapter 10

3 weeks ago...

There was commotion everywhere. Everything was chaos everyone trying to catch a troublemaker. A group of working man gathered in a platform near a man that seem to be the lead.

"What is it?" asked a team member.

"We don't know but it's been messing with our supplies, and our equipment," the captain said.

"We don't have a trace or any information of it?" asked another man.

"No, it keeps avoiding us, and it manages to fool every man it finds," The captain then said.

As soon as he said that the platform started to collapse.

"Men get off the platforms," said the captain jumping off.

The men soon followed each jumping off the platform. After a laugh was heard, but this was not a regular laugh it was one of a Pokemon.

"We can't afford anyone to get hurt," The captain said.

"We have to close it down till we catch that Pokemon," The captain then continued.

All the men then all left and after the captain shut down the factory.

"Looks like we won't be making steel for a while," The captain said walking away.

Now...

Alexa, Tom and Troy where walking down a path, lost once again, This time it was no one's fault.

"Well, a Town map really doesn't help here much does it?" Asked Troy scratching his head.

"That's true," Alexa said laughing.

"Let's try to find something that will help us get in the right direction," Tom then said.

They then stumbled upon a factory.

"I'll see if anyone inside knows anything" Tom then said as he stepped into the factory.

Troy and Alexa were left outside when suddenly someone approached them, below him was an Aron.

"Do you guys know the way to Eterna city?" The person asked.

Both trainers turned around, they saw the trainer that had won the gym badge prior to Troy challenging it.

"We are also lost," Alexa said.

The trainer then just sighed.

"I have a town map but it doesn't really help in this situation," He then said.

"I know right," Alexa then said.

They were then interrupted by a laugh, soon after nuts where thrown at the three trainers. The trainers then were forced inside the factory. They saw Tom as he was about to exit, the new trainer approached him.

"Sir, would you know the way to Eterna city," the new trainer asked.

"Sir?" Tom asked as his eyes seemed to light up.

"While I may not know, I do know that this factory is closed and seems to be dangerous," Tom then said looking proud.

Both Alexa and Troy looked as each other and laughed.

"One person seems to respect you and you get all proud," They both said.

Tom was about to say something when they all then heard a laugh. The three trainers knew this laugh was the same as before. Was this all the act of one Pokemon? They then heard rustling, they saw a shape, but could not make out what it was.

"So did anyone see what that was?" Troy asked.

"I think it was a Pokemon," Tom then said.

"We should catch it," The new boy then said.

"I will catch it if we do," Troy responded.

"It's a race then," The boy said.

"Let's go Aron," He then said as both him and Aron took off.

Both boys took off to try and catch the Pokemon invading the factory. Each built their own traps to try and catch the Pokemon. The boy did a trail trap, a snack trail trail leading to a trap. Troy just put a snack underneath a box.

The Pokemon started taking the trail, Eating snack after snack, and fell right into the trap, or at least should have. It easily got out or maybe did not get in the trap at all but when the boy came to look at it there was nothing there. He then started chasing what was a shape.

The Pokemon then saw snacks laying on the ground. It took them never dropping the box, eating them all. The boy came up and tried to catch it but activated the trap instead. Troy then came out and took the boy out of the trap. Both guys failed at their first attempt.

"Why don't we team up?" the boy then asked.

"Yeah we can corner it if we work together," Troy said.

Tom and Alexa were seeing the boys laughing at their failed attempts and the final solution. Both of them anticipated their attempts now.

The boy and Troy cooperated one chasing the shape the other on the other side waiting to catch it, only to fail and crash into each other.

Tom and Alexa once again laughed this time harder than before. This made the Boys angry.

"Can you guys do better than us?" They asked.

Tom and Alex stopped laughing and turned serious.

"You're asking the best trainer in the world if he can do better?" Alexa asked.

"I think the part where I'm an adult is more important than that," Tom then said in a low voice.

The boy's eyes seemed to light up, he had never met a strong trainer apart from a gym leader.

"And, girls are way smarter than boys anyways," Alexa then said.

"That's only if the girl is smart," Troy then said whispering to the boy.

The boy then laughed.

"What was that?" Alexa said

"I commented on how cute you are," Troy then said.

Alexa was suspicious at first but she really didn't care she was called cute.

"That's great then," she said.

"Let's go catch that Pokemon," Alexa then said dragging Tom along.

Alexa soon came with the Pokemon in her hands.

"See we caught it," She said.

The boys were amazed they couldn't even touch that thing.

"Did you catch it?" The boys asked.

"Tom did, really easily too, he works fast" Alexa then said.

The Pokemon was a Buizel a water Pokemon. The Buizel started laughing. It was the same laugh they all heard before.

"Alright I am now going to catch it," Troy said taking out a pokeball.

"No, I will," The boy then said.

"Since me and Tom caught it why don't we decide," Alexa then said.

"Where is Tom?" Troy then said.

"He is resting, this took all his energy," Alexa then said.

"So who do you decide" Troy then said.

"Hmm, I don't know, how about you guys do rock, paper, scissors?" Alexa said grinning.

"But I'm," Troy started, he stopped remembering he made fun of her and started playing.

"Rock, Paper, Scissors," The boys said as Troy ended up losing.

"Alright one Pokemon per try," Alexa then said.

The boy looked at her and nodded. He took out a pokeball and took out a Grotle.

"Let's go Terra, we have this match" He said as his Grotle roared.

"Terra, start it off with a razor leaf," The boy said. The Grotle seemed to throw leaves from it's mouth. Buizel just seemed to dodge every single leave. After dodging the Buizel glowed red.

"Terra, use Mega drain." The Grotle started to drain the Buizel, but then it was hit by a quick tackle.

"Terra, leech seed," the boy said looking worried. The Grotle threw seeds at the Buizel, but then was hit by a powerful headbutt by Buizel, one with him covered by water.

"Terra, let's go for another razor leaf." Grotle once again threw leaves out of it's mouth, this time not one leaf hit the Buizel. Buizel once again glowed red.

"Terra, let's try it again!" The boy then screamed. Grotle was about to throw leaves once again but was hit by another quick tackle making it lose balance. The Buizel followed it and seemed to throw stars at the Grotle.

The battle lasted another 10 minutes, and it was full of misses for Grotle, and a lot of connections by Buizel.

By the end Grotle had no will left, it was completely demotivated, it's attacks did not hit, and it just kept getting hit.

"Terra we almost have it, use razor leaf" The boy then said. The Grotle stood up and threw leaves once again, but this time they seemed slower and not at all powerful.

The boy noticed this change, but before he could do anything the Buizel attacked Grotle with a quick tackle once again Knocking it out.

"No, Terra!" The boy said taking his Pokemon back to his ball. He then thanked his Pokemon for taking the battle till the end.

"It's your turn," the boy then said, not taking the last match well.

"Alright," Troy said taking out his new Budew. He had seen the Buizel battle through ten minutes but it looked like it didn't even break a sweat, and had no damage.

"Let's go Budew we have this," He said as his Budew just got close to him and started nuzzling him again.

The Buizel started laughing. The laughter made the Budew angry.

"Budew let's start it off with razor leaf," Troy said. The Budew threw a huge leaf at the Buizel. The Buizel dodged it, once again glowing red.

The Budew then got hit by a quick tackle.

"Budew, take a ride." The Budew threw a huge leaf and rode it. The Buizel not knowing what to do just dodged the leaf and once again glowed red, he then looked to see were the Budew was.

"Budew, now use leaf storm," Troy then said. The Budew then jumped from the leaf and glowing blue it conjured up a huge storm of leaves, in a rugged formation that was able to hit Buizel. Or so they thought. The Buizel had seen the attack coming and was able to dodge almost every leaf.

The Buizel then tried hitting the Budew with a water headbutt. It connected but it didn't seem to have much effect on Budew.

"Budew another razor leaf." The Budew was then more motivated than before, this made the Buizel flustered. The Buizel was hit, it was paying too much attention to the Budew.

"Budew, another." Once again the giant leaf hit the Buizel. The Budew was getting more focused by the second.

Buizel tried to break this by doing a quick tackle, but to no avail as the Budew saw it coming and jumped before being hit.

"From that position Budew leaf storm!" Troy screamed. The Budew once again unleashed it's rugged storm on Buizel knocking it out.

Troy then threw a pokeball at the Buizel. It shook once, twice, a third time, and then click, the Pokemon was caught.

Troy went on to hug his Budew. The Budew looked real happy, as if this was it's goal. Troy returned Budew, and then went on to take the pokeball. The boy then came up to him.

"Wow! your Budew is amazing," He said.

"I don't know about that," Alexa said under her breath.

"Yeah, I saw it injured and helped it, it defeated a Roselia, I can tell it's very strong," Troy then said.

Just then Tom came out a bit groggy.

"What happened to you?" Asked Troy.

"Well, I was trying to catch the Buizel when it jumped on me and knocked me unconscious. The last I saw of him was it being caught by Alexa as I was falling," Tom then responded.

As Tom finished his speech everyone turned to Alexa.

"Well we did catch it," Alexa then said.

Then The door to the factory opened and it was a man who looked like a worker, he had other people with him. There was a G on their shirts, and they had weird green hair.

"Hey what are you guys doing here this area is closed off, it's dangerous in here," The worker said.

"There is a dangerous wild Pokemon here," one of the weird guy said.

"We were hired to take care of it," The second guy said.

Tom looked at their uniforms and realized who they were.

"Wow so Team Galactic now does odd jobs," He said.

The members just gave a look at Tom and soon realized who he was.

"I see you're the Regulator, our boss has told us about you," The first Galactic member said.

"I think the problem has been taken care of," The second member said.

"I can say it has," Tom then said.

This interaction made the worker happy. He could open up the factory again. The galactic members then left saying a weak goodbye.

"But wait, why are you here in the first place?" The worker then asked.

"We kinda got lost," Tom answered.

"Oh so the town map again? I have told them to get that fixed but they just won't," The worker said.

The worker took out a paper he had and wrote down directions toward Eterna town.

"So I think since most of you are new trainers, you are looking for this town," The worker said.

Everyone nodded and they were about ready to go when then they realized there was only one paper.

"So umm... want to join us," Troy asked the boy.

"Alright but I think we need to know each others names if we are going to do that," the boy said.

Troy was a bit happy and he introduced everyone.

"This is Tom he is the regulator, the best trainer in the world" He said as he pointed toward Tom.

"This is Alexa, she is my girlfriend, and also a trainer," He said pointing at Alexa.

"And me I'm Troy the future best trainer in the world," He then said.

"You'll have to get through me, my name is Leon," Leon said.

"We'll see" Troy then said.

Afterwards all the trainers laughed and headed toward their next destination.

Chapter 11

Troy and all his friends were walking down a forest. The forest was right after the factory. The forest was dense and filled with fog, making it hard to go through the forest. Even through this Tom seemed to know the way through the forest.

"Tom are you gonna explain how we you know the path through this forest, or are we lost and just walking in circles?" Asked Troy.

"Don't worry the last time I was here this forest was here, so I know the way," Tom answered.

Alexa, Leon, and Troy looked worried, How long ago was the last time he was here? They all seemed to be thinking. But soon they saw a house, one that seemed to be haunted.

"See, this is the old manor, it used to be a house of legends, they say that ghosts appear there," Tom then said.

They all looked at the worn out house next to the forest. It looked renovated but still old. The house had a huge door and had all the windows boarded up.

"And now it's a year round scary house owned by Team Galactic," Troy said pointing at the sign by the house.

The sign read "Scary house 5,000 poke per person". Below it there was a Team Galactic logo.

"Haha, well there is benefit to being an owner," Tom said laughing.

Nobody seemed to laugh with Tom. He noticed and stopped laughing.

"Why don't we go inside" Alexa said while tugging at Troy.

"Yeah it'll be fun," Troy said noticing the tug.

"I wanna go as well," Leon said.

"You know what, you kids go have fun there I'll go into Eterna city and check into the hotel," Tom said.

"Alright, I like that plan," Alexa said.

"But then who's gonna pay for us?" Troy asked.

"Here you go," Tom said giving money to Troy.

Tom gave Troy 50,000 poke, troy looked at the money and saw the sign.

"Alright, we have more than enough here" Troy said looking at the money.

"That's for entering the house and for food later on," Tom said.

Tom then left the trainers to their own devices. He went outside the forest.

"Well let's go!" Troy said as he ran into the house.

"Wait for me!" Alexa said after looking at him run.

Leon just started running toward them as well.

Tom reached the fishing area right before reaching Eterna and saw a pier. He approached it.

"This wasn't here last time either," He said.

As he got closer he saw that it was a few years old. He walked across the whole pier and encountered many fisherman along the way. All of them where just waiting patiently and none asked him for a battle. As he got closer to the finish he saw a women in black just standing near the end.

"Hey, long time no see," Tom said.

The women just looked at him. She then proceeded to speak.

"I heard you were back, It's almost been 15 years since you left," The women said.

"15 Years is such a short time" Tom said.

"It's only as long as one makes it," The women said.

"Heard you became the champion while I was gone," Tom then said.

"Just taking your post, right after you abandoned it," the women said.

"You never change do you?" Tom asked.

"And you do?" The women then asked.

Tom got closer and gave the women a hug.

"I can't help it, it's my job to stay the same," Tom said while embracing her.

"The same for me," The women said closing her eyes.

Tom then let go, he knew what the women was expecting but he couldn't bring himself to do it.

"We should catch up for now, Cynthia," Tom said.

Cynthia opened her eyes and knew Tom had something important to say.

"We should go to this shop it's great," Cynthia said holding up a flyer.

Tom looked at the flyer and sighed.

"You really never change," Tom said.

They both then walked to the shop. The city the came to view. Green was everywhere, trees, grass, and even some houses where green. The whole city was like a huge garden.

"Wow this city sure has changed," Tom said.

"Ever since Gardenia became the gym leader this city has started to change," Cynthia said.

"Would be a shame if I were to revoke it," Tom then said.

"Well all my gym leaders are great, so I don't think you'll have to remove even one," Cynthia then remembered something as she said that.

"You remember a stain?" Tom asked.

"No, it shouldn't be a problem," Cynthia then said.

They then reached the shop in the flyer. It was quite nice, an old western style house.

"Your taste is still the same," Tom said looking at the house.

Cynthia ignored him and went into the shop. Tom followed, shortly after. They then ordered and sat down.

"Some coffee is always great," Tom said.

"Coffee and sweets is all you ever get anyways," Cynthia then said.

They both then started laughing.

"Well we should get started," Tom said as his expression changing to one of seriousness.

Cynthia also changed her expression to one of anxiousness.

"I think I've found my replacement," Tom then said.

Cynthia's eyes seem to light up.

"So will it be soon?" Cynthia asked.

"I don't think so, he barely started," Tom then said.

"Then what makes you think he can do it?" Cynthia then asked.

"I see something in his eyes when he battles, something I saw in him when I battled him," Tom then said.

"Him?" Cynthia then asked standing up.

"Yes, the old regulator, the man who was know as the strongest before me," Troy then said.

Cynthia then sat back down.

"So can I meet him? Cynthia asked.

"Sure he's coming here soon," Tom then said.

Tom then looked outside and saw a scene he had to stop. There was a kid being bullied. Tom then ran outside the store, Cynthia followed.

"Hey kids what is going on here?" Tom asked in a loud voice.

Just then the kids ran and left the kid on the ground.

"Are you okay?" Cynthia asked the kid standing him up.

"I'm not fine, I'm just a poor person who can't do anything," The kid said crying.

"What do you mean?" Tom asked coming back from chasing the kids.

"My parents don't have a Pokemon and they can't afford to buy one," The boy started

"I get bullied almost everyday because all the kids have one and I don't," he then finished.

Tom and Cynthia looked at each other.

"Do you think your parents would let you have one," Tom then said.

"I can they said if I ever got enough poke to get a pokeball and get a Pokemon they would help me raise it," The boy said.

"I see," Tom then said taking out his Staraptor pokeball.

"Make sure they live up to what they said," He said giving the boy the pokeball.

The kid was happy, he thanked Tom and then ran away, as if he was going home.

"Why did you do that?" Cynthia asked.

"I remember a kid in the same situation," Tom then said.

Tom then realized that they ran out the store without eating.

"Shall we go back?" Tom then asked.

Cynthia nodded and they went back to the shop. They went and ate, and they made small talk for the rest of the time. The time had passed fast and now it was night.

"Oh I should check into a hotel and wait for the kids," Tom then said.

"Why don't I check us all in, while you go and get them," Cynthia then said.

Tom and Cynthia then went over the details and soon Tom was at the entrance of the town. He saw Alexa, Leon and Tom walking looking tired out.

"What happened you guys?" Tom said running toward them.

"A lot," Troy said.

Cynthia and Leon agreed. Tom seeing as how he wasn't gonna get anything out of them, just took them to the hotel.

Chapter 12

Alexa, Troy and Leon had just separated from Tom and they were about to enter the scary house. The man at the entrance had the exact same look the ones they met at the factory had.

"Hello welcome to the Haunted Manor, That will be 5,000 poke per ticket," The man said.

Troy took out the money he had gotten from Tom and paid the man.

"We are also holding a tournament here today, would you guys like to join?" The man then asked.

"Tournament, count me in!" Troy said excited.

"I want to join as well!" Leon said.

Alexa then got mad at Troy and kind of pulled his shirt to get his attention. Troy turned and saw her.

"Actually we want to enjoy the haunted house today so-" Troy then got stopped by the man.

"Actually, The tournament's not for a while so you have time to do the haunted house," The man said.

"Oh, then I want to join as well," Alexa then said.

With what Alexa said Troy knew he could then participate.

"So you guys will be in the junior rounds," The man said.

"Junior?" They all said as if questioning the man's decision.

"You're all ten aren't you," The man then said.

"Yeah, but I already have a gym badge," Troy said

"Me too," Leon the said.

"Well, I can't do anything about it," The man said.

"I guess we'll take that" Troy said a bit sad.

"Alright I signed you up for that class. What are your names?" The man asked.

They each gave him their names

"Now the rules are standard Pokemon battle wise, but you can only use one Pokemon in this tournament all the way through," The man explained.

Alexa sighed. Tom and Leon looked at each other knowing they better pick their best Pokemon or else they would lose.

"Alright, now that, that's over why not take a look around the Haunted house?" The man then asked.

"Yeah, let's go" Alexa said running toward the house dragging Troy along.

Leon just stood there looking at them leave. He then turned toward the man.

"What are the prizes?" He said.

"Well first place wins a ribbon, as well as 10 pokepuffs, while second gets 3 pokepuffs, and third gets 1," The man said.

Leon then left and ran toward the spooky part of the house.

Alexa and Troy had a blast at the haunted house. A zombie here, a ghost there, and darkness everywhere. The most enjoyable part was that they were both there. The same could not e said of Leon. He was for the most part terrified and being alone did not help him. They all then exited the house.

"That was fun," Alexa said.

"Well yeah, I guess," Leon said catching his breath.

"Did, did you run?" Troy asked Leon.

"Ye, yeah there was a running part," Leon answered.

"Oh I didn't see that part," Troy said suspicious.

"Well you were too busy being a couple that's why," Leon said.

Troy couldn't deny that and just accepted it. After they heard an announcement.

"The spooky tournament will begin in an hour, anyone that wants to join please ask any of our staff members" The voice said.

"There is enough time to eat," Alexa then said looking at the Haunted restaurant.

"Then what are we waiting for Leon then said.

They all went to the restaurant and had a meal. The meal was great, they all ordered different things, but everything was great. They all then walked out and saw a guy walking down an empty hall.

"He must be a worker," Troy said.

They then saw the guy disappear into thin air. This freaked them all out.

"Well, they must be going all out in this place," Leon then said.

Then every electronic in the house went haywire.

"I guess this is a part of the house too," Troy then said.

Another announcement came soon after the electronics went back to normal.

"That was our Rotom, he likes to mess with the electronics to add to the scare" The voice said.

"Oh then we are fine," Alexa said.

Then another announcement came on.

"The spooky tournament will begin in five minutes everyone in it please report to the main hall," The voice then said.

"Let's go!" they all said excited.

They reached the main hall and it had four fighting areas. Two were for JR classes, and one was for adult classes. The crowd was huge around 100 people The hall had no room beside the battle areas.

"Well it seems we reached the place in time," Alexa said.

As they looked around the bracket was already made. There was 16 participants, Alexa and Leon would meet at the semi-finals, and they would be going against Troy for the final.

"Well looks like we might not get to fight" Troy said.

"Oh we will," Alexa and Leon said at the same time.

The tournament shortly started after that. It was Leon vs Ren, Alexa vs Rebbeca, and Troy vs Paul. The battles were already going and our heroes were easily winning.

"Terra, razor leaf," Leon said. His Grotle threw leaves at the opposing Rattata.

"No, Mousy" The girl said. The Rattata was also caught in a leech seed, and was drained of energy. The Rattata was knocked out, and Grotle had wasted little energy.

The match on the other side was over long before. Troy's Monferno had knocked out the Buneary in one hit, with a mach punch.

The next two rounds of matches did not contain Alexa, it was until later that she got to fight.

"Eevee, use quick attack," Alexa said. The Eevee tackled a Wurmple, who was still hanging on.

"Buggy, use poison sting," Rebbeca then said. The Wurmple then went to sting the Eevee, who took the hit.

"Eevee, don't give up, use Covet," The Eevee then seemed to hypnotize the Wurmple and was able to knock it out.

"Buggy!," The girl then started crying for it's Pokemon.

Once again the next round were pretty easy wins for Troy and Leon. Troy once again in one hit, this time a Cascoon, who was knocked out by flamethrower. As for Leon, he easily took the win with leach seed and razor leaf.

"Eevee get up," Alexa said to her Eevee who was on the ground after a big attack. This time the opponent was a Mothim, a stronger bug type.

"Rising, end it with a air slash," The boy who was the opponent said.

Troy and Leon were cheering Alexa on.

"Actually I think Rising is a pretty cool nickname," Leon said.

"I agree," Troy said.

"Eevee, use charm" Alexa then said. The Eevee then seemed to wink at Mothim who could no longer attack.

"What happened Rising?" The trainer asked his Pokemon.

Alexa took this chance to take the advantage and knocked out the Pokemon.

"No Rising," The trainer then went to his Mothim.

"Dude your girlfriend plays dirty," Leon said

"Love is dirty" Troy then said.

Nonetheless we are already at the Semi-finals it was Troy vs Johnny, and Alexa vs Leon. Troy easily beat Johnny using a mach punch, and then a flamethrower on his Abra.

Leon and Alexa took out their Pokemon a Grotle and a Eevee.

"Ladies first," Leon said.

"Then, Eevee Charm," Alexa said without hesitation. Eevee seemed to wink at Grotle. The Grotle seemed to not be able to attack.

"That's not fair," Leon then said. He looked at his Grotle already in love.

"Eevee, Covet" Alexa then said. The Eevee went up to the Grotle very dearly.

"Terra counter, use razor leaf to put some distance," Leon told his Pokemon. The grove Pokemon did not listen and was hit by the Eevee.

"Terra let's put some pressure on that Eevee, leech seed," Leon said. His Pokemon was able to reach and was able to plant some seeds on Eevee.

"Eevee don't mind it, use quick attack," Alexa told her Eevee. The attack was able to hit the Eevee went for one of it's graceful quick attacks and was able to hit the target with a tackle.

"Terra use seed bomb," Leon said. His Grotle threw many seeds into the air, and soon were raining down on Eevee. The Eevee had anticipated that and was able to dodge the majority.

"That's great Eevee," Alexa said looking at her Eevee. She then saw a terrible sight. Eevee was looking worn out, and Grotle seemed fine, as if it had taken almost no damage at all.

"What's going on?" Alexa asked. once again looking at her worn out Eevee.

"You Eevee has been taking damage from my leech seed all this time, and my Terra has been healing all this time" Leon Explained.

"Eevee quick attack!" Alexa then screamed desperate. The worn out Eevee then started running trying to once again connect with a quick tackle. To everyone's surprise the Eevee connected.

"Terra, finish this off with a razor leaf" Leon said confidently. The Grotle didn't move.

"Eevee, hit with a Covet" Alexa then said. Eevee being worn out went up to the Grotle once again hitting it, this time it seemed to hit harder.

"Terra, finish it with Seed bomb" Leon then said. The Grotle once again did not move.

"Eevee another Covet." Alexa said once again looking at her worn out Eevee.

"Terra dodge and finish this with a seed bomb," Leon then said. Once again his Grotle did not budge an inch.

"Eevee finish it with multiple quick attacks," Alexa said. Her Eevee started running fast, but elegantly toward the Grotle.

"Terra Dodge, and use razor leaf," Leon said. This was to no avail as the Grotle just stayed in place. The Eevee hit it with the quick tackle, then the Eevee seemed to disappear and show up on the other side with another quick tackle. She did it multiple times, and Grotle couldn't stand it anymore falling, knocked out.

"No! Terra, Get up!" Leon screamed in anguish. The Grotle was finished and the battle was over. The referee called the match and everyone was surprised.

The third place match was after, Leon winning the battle easily with Terra just using seed bomb and leech seed. The first place battle was Troy vs Alexa.

Troy and Alexa were getting ready for their battle and they both took out their Pokemon Eevee and Monferno, Troy then approached the Monferno. Both Pokemon were ready for the rematch and Monferno knew it had the advantage.

The referee started the match both sides were ready.

"Ladies first," Troy then said to Alexa.

Alexa was surprised but she still took it.

"Eevee Charm" Alexa said. Eevee was getting ready for the attack.

"Psych!" Troy screamed. His Monferno then Ran toward Eevee and hit it with a hard punch.

"What was that?" Alexa asked getting mad.

"That dear, was mach punch, a priority move," Troy said.

"Eevee hit them with one of your own, quick attack," Alexa then said. The Eevee then started running, but then it was hit by another punch by Monferno.

"How are you doing that?" Alexa then asked.

"Monferno and I have already connected isn't that right Monferno," Troy said as he nodded at Monferno. Monferno Proceeded to nod back. Then Monferno Took off for another attack.

"Eevee dodge," Alexa said. This was to no avail as her Eevee was hit once again. Her Eevee was barely able to stand up.

"Monferno finish this like last time, flame wheel." The Monferno then started spinning and was then covered with fire.

"Eevee, just" Alexa started but her Eevee was then hit by the flame ball coming at it.

That was the match everyone though the match would be close but it was a landslide victory. Troy was happy at his Monferno, it hadn't failed him once.

"Wow Troy, you're really strong," Leon said as he approached him.

"But, I don't think your girlfriend liked that," Leon the said.

Troy turned his attention toward Alexa who was looking at him with rage in her face.

"Excuse me for a bit" Troy then said to Leon.

Troy took off running, and Alexa then started chasing him. The game lasted for a while and soon both tired out. Alexa gave up and Troy then went up to her.

"Hey, umm... I'm sorry," he said.

"It's fine I'm over it now," Alexa then proceeded to say.

They both then found Leon and the Exited the house.

"Did you like the house?" The man who was standing at the entrance asked.

"It was fun and scary!" They all said excited.

"That's great," The man said.

Leon then started saying his favorite parts.

"I liked the house, the food was delicious, the man in the hall was scary, as well as the Rotom, and the tournament was great," He said.

"The man in the hall?" The man asked.

"Yeah, the man who disappears in the hall by the restaurant," Troy then went on to explain.

"There is no such thing," The man then proceeded to say.

All three kids then felt chills and went pale. They all then exited, and headed toward Eterna City.

They encountered Tom at the entrance, greeting them. Troy just answered from what he though he heard.

"A lot," He said.

They all then went to the Hotel.

Chapter 13

Troy woke up early the next morning, as he usually does. He saw that Leon was still sleeping, he got ready and made his best effort to get out of the room without making noise. He then went to the hotel lobby where he saw Tom. He was going to approach him when he saw a strange women with him. He closed in slowly and heard their speech.

"So I get to meet him today?" The woman asked.

"Yes," Tom said. Tom then felt a presence turned and saw Troy.

"He's here actually," Tom said, pointing toward Troy.

The women turned toward troy, waving at him. Troy then got close, sitting down with them.

"Troy this is Cynthia the Champion of this region," Tom said as if to introduce them.

Troy didn't know what a champion was but it must be important for them to meet with Tom.

"Tom, tells me you're a strong trainer," Cynthia then said.

"If the best trainer says so, then I guess it's true" Troy said proudly

Cynthia, and Tom laughed.

"Well, I hope you continue being strong," Cynthia then said, whispering some words that couldn't be heard after.

Troy then nodded, and then started a conversation with Tom.

"So, are you going to go against the Gym leader today?" Troy asked Tom excited.

"Yeah, and I have a surprise for you," He responded.

Troy was excited for his surprise, and he was ready to see Tom at work.

After a while Leon joined them still sleepy. He let out a yawn and didn't speak, he was too tired. Alexa also joined them, but seeing a women with Tom she got riled up.

"Are you Tom's girlfriend," Alexa started.

Cynthia, and Tom started laughing. Tom had told Cynthia this would happen with Alexa earlier.

"You could say that," Cynthia then stated.

"You guys don't really match, you're too pretty for him," Alexa then said.

Tom stopped laughing and turned serious while Troy and Leon started laughing.

"I guess you're right," Cynthia said.

"But looks aren't everything," Cynthia said immediately after.

"But they must be something," Alexa then said.

"Well... he's not that bad looking," Cynthia then said laughing.

"I guess," Alexa then said.

"Well I think we should head toward the Gym then," Tom said no pleased how that conversation went.

"Yeah!" Troy then screamed.

While walking Alexa spoke to Cynthia the whole way. Cynthia just nodded and smiled. The scenery was really green. The grass had the smell it usually has in the morning. the trees were moving with the pleasant breeze. This was the perfect morning.

They reached the gym shortly after, the gym was the biggest spectacle of all. there was a huge tree above the building, with many trees surrounding it. It also had a garden next to it. The group walked inside amazed. The inside was a flower garden, flowers everywhere, it looked like Floaroma Town.

"This is amazing," Tom said.

Cynthia smiled at Tom's comment. Suddenly a women screamed at the top of a tree. She was wearing a green shirt and brown shorts.

"So it seems I have a challenger, unfortunately you guys have to beat my students first," she screamed.

Tom then took out his badge, seeing it the gym leader climbed down from the tree, and looked at it.

"It seems this is the day my master said would come," she then said.

"I have come to test you," Tom then said.

"I am Gardenia, the gym leader of Eterna city, I am ready for your challenge," Gardenia then said.

She then noticed Cynthia was with the group. She then started smiling.

"If I beat this challenge, I will take on the league and turn this region to the green paradise that it deserves to be" She said.

"Go ahead, but first you have to go through the strongest trainer," Cynthia then said.

"It's not all about strength," Gardenia then said.

"Well why don't we get started?" Tom then said.

Gardenia and Tom then moved on to the gym arena. The arena was not as nice as the rest of the gym, but it was still a pretty green.

The referee was of Gardenia's students. She started the battle after announcing the rules.

"This is a 3 vs 3, the first to run out of Pokemon loses" She said.

Gardenia took out a Turtwig, while Tom took out a Pokemon Troy had never seen before, a Weavile.

"Troy this is your surprise, you get to see one of my Pokemon in action, you've been asking me for a while now," Tom said.

This was the first time troy saw one of Tom's real Pokemon. The Weavile was standing in a cool pose. It seemed really relaxed.

"Ice to go against my grass types," Gardenia then said.

"Yep, try and go through this" Tom then said.

"Grower use seed bomb," Gardenia had started the battle. Her Turtwig then started to throw seeds into the air. Weavile dodged every seed barely moving at the end it barely moved from the original place.

"What?" Gardenia could not believe her eyes, the Weavile had dodged her best attack without effort. Everyone watching was also amazed.

"Weavile, quick attack and slash," Tom said. The Weavile then seemed to have disappeared from the place it had been, and appeared a second later behind the Turtwig, with his back toward it. His claw was glowing white for a second after. The Turtwig just fell down after, the attack was too strong.

Everyone was speechless no one had seen that move before.

"Turtwig!" Gardenia screamed, but it was too late it was already out. She returned it to the pokeball.

"Come on out Rose," Gardenia then said taking out what looked like Roselia.

"Well, that's one tough attack but it won't work a second time," Gardenia said.

"Rose Toxic spikes," Gardenia commanded.

Tom then realized what Gardenia was plotting, and gave commands to his Weavile.

"Weavile another attack now," He said. The Weavile once again disappeared, only to appear behind the enemy with his shining claw. The Roselia was able to take the attack, and finish it's own. Thorns were coming out of it's flowers.

"Weavile, end it," Tom said acknowledging his defeat. The Weavile just hit the Roselia with both his claws shining. The Roselia went down.

"Rose good job," Gardenia said. She then took back Roselia and took out Roserade.

"This one is my best with everyone of your Pokemon poisoned I can still win," Gardenia said.

"You misunderstand," Tom said.

"I'm not planning to switch," He then continued.

Gardenia was angry at that comment, and then screamed orders at her Roserade.

"Rosy, use leaf storm," She said. The Roserade then created a huge storm of leaves, throwing it at Weavile. The Weavile dodged, but it was poisoned.

"Weavile, end this with one shot you can't take poison that well," Tom then said. His Weavile nodded and jumped in the air. Everyone watched as the Weavile then threw itself toward the opponent with what seemed like a punch of ice. This was not ice punch though, it was more like a comet. The Roserade could not dodge, it was annihilated by the comet.

The battle was over the Roserade was frozen, and knocked out. It was then that Leon and Troy knew that this man was much more than a simple obstacle in the way to becoming the best, he was a complete wall they would have to break down.

The referee called the match, ending in Tom's one Pokemon victory.

Gardenia was shocked, she could not believe what she saw. First a quick slash, then a comet, this man was better than his master had said.

"Gardenia you were able to force me to pull out the most powerful attack from my Pokemon, and were even able to poison it. You are a great gym leader, please keep serving under the league," Tom then said to Gardenia.

"Sure thing," Gardenia then said knowing she was defeated thoroughly.

"Alright I'm next," Leon said.

"No, me," Troy then said.

"Well you guys would have to beat my students first," Gardenia said.

"But, how about you guys have a battle to see what the order you face me will be?" She then said.

"Alright!" Both trainers said.

So yeah that was the chapter. How did you guys like it? I just wanted to know what you guys though of Tom's attacks, every one of his Pokemon will have this special quality.

Let me start off by reiterating what others have suggested before me: work on tight consistent formatting, look over grammar, yadda yadda

Now that we got that out of the way, I can get to the real meat of how I like to do reviews

Because this is your very first fanfic, rather than what I say being criticism or critique, I'd like you to think of what I say as “ideas for development.”

My biggest and I feel most beneficial route of development for your story is if you consider the aesthetics. I notice you have very, very sparse narration, with little to no description, not of scenes, characters, nor actions. I believe almost every aspect of your story could greatly benefit from being a little more fleshed out.

Because you as the author have complete control over the environment and scene in which the story takes place, it can be used as a handy additional tool in the written medium. How you describe someone, something or somewhere can have a subtle yet profound impact on how the reader interprets the scene. If for example you are narrating from a “focus character” perspective, in which the narration has access to a given character's thoughts, feel free to allow that character's personal feelings and opinions color the narration of a scene. How do they feel about what they see? What opinions, if any, do they have about what is in front of them?

The concept of a Regulator is an intriguing one. I have my own ideas about how the league gyms would be regulated and held accountable, but everyone has something different in their head. The fact that the Pokémon series reveals little to no information as to how the internal bureaucracy of the league system functions means it is ripe territory for fanficion writers like yourself to delve into and explore, so good on you for that.

Otherwise, seems like a fairly standard variation of the journeyman's fic.

I'd really like to see you take a little more time with the narration, really get to grips with not just the scene, but also the characters. What do they want? What do they fear? How far are they willing to go to get what they want, or alleviate their fears? And how does all this manifest in the story? How does it affect their emotions, their decisions, and what does that look like to those observing, and to the readers?

This brings me to a larger, overall point: to think of a story as more than just a simple sequence of events. Think of the story as a glimpse into a living breathing world: how do character's decisions and resulting actions affect the setting, other characters? How does the setting and other characters react?Each moment can have another layer of meaning: little moments can remind the readers of bigger ones, imply larger actions at work.
