THE REVELATION
By: Sir Ephesus

He that Day came down and said upon us
“My dear sheep, I am sorry for this fuss.”
But one of us, I cannot recall who
Said, “My dear Lord, do not apologise.”
“But I had you blinded my dear children!”
“But it was you who gave us eyes my Lord.”
“But I limited you my dear children!”
“But my Lord, it was you who have made limits.”
“But men, how dare I make you unlike me?”
“But you made us my Lord; we are your work.”
“My work, my children, is still incomplete.
For that my kids, I must apologise.”
“But my dear Sir, if we were incomplete,
Would we steal so that we could survive?”
“But stealing is a sin my little kids.”
“Would we kill so we could live in freedom?”
“But killing is the gravest sin my kids!”
“Would we lie for imagination, Lord?”
“Thou shalt never lie! Did I not once say?”
“O Sir! But we cannot be incomplete
For any God cannot be incomplete.”
“But I am, my children, the only God.”
“But Sir, there is a God far beyond you.”
“You shall have no other gods before me!
You will be punished! You shall go to Hell!
WAIT, but who is this other God you fool?!
“The God that knows, my Lord, that if we sin
We do so because we appreciate.
Because we know to love, to think and see
All the wonders that You, my Lord, have ever made.”
“Tell me his name, so I can punish him!”
“His name is I, my Lord, and I made you.”
“That cannot be! How dare you betray me?
You are no God, for I have made it all!”
“You did, my Lord, create the Universe.
But I, my Lord, one day invented you.
I made you so that we had an excuse…”
“FOR WHAT? Speak liar! Speak your human lies!”
“My dear creator, I created you
As an excuse for us, my Lord, to love.
I made you, my God, on the seventh day.
Whilst you rested, I was busy at work.
I gave mankind the sacred gift of love,
And I made you the greatest character.
I made us fear you so that we could love.”
“Fool! What you have said is beyond sinning!
For that you puny human shall now die!
Any last words before I undo you?”
“Sir, unlike you, I don’t regret my work.
And I imagined you my God, so that
-I had much hope and meaning to survive.
I made the heavens, and I too made Hell,
Along with You and I my dearest Lord.
And if you will to truly punish me,
The worst thing you could do is let me live,
For see my brethren? They’ve overheard.
And I, my Lord, have done the work for you.
They believe that you are good my dear Lord,
And now they view me as Evil itself.
They will hate me, my Lord, they will hate me!
But when they’ve learn to hate, they’ll hate themselves.
You’ll ruin my work, but too You’ll ruin yourself.

Don’t punish, for I never punished You.
And this equality, it’s Christian, no?
My Lord, it’s You who invented logic.
And if I ever spoke of wondrous things,
Then dogmatically, You’d never believe,
But You would rather double think Yourself.
Of course to me, that is not a problem,
For I do not follow your logic,
Nor Your dogmatic algorithm.
Now punish me my Lord! Punish me now!
But if you would forgive me, then kill me.
Do kill me, so that men can live shadows.
For that is what they want: illusions,
Because I am the only creator.
And so is every man that ever looked
Upon all the shadows and the lights
That are ever present in thought
And see in twilight, the hues
That colour this bright world,
And see the only
True creator,
Which is
I!”
“Foolish human! That is your punishment!
You can no longer speak the words of men.
You shall become a singularity
In the unexplored minds of all mortals,
And can only ever talk to them,
If they could find the truth by thought alone.
Until then, I am still the God they know,
And they won’t know of the true God –of you.”
