A Hoenn Journey RP. Need I say more?

Main Character

Name: Andrew Owad (Prefers to be known as Bug)
Age: 13
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Straight

Appearance: About 5 foot 6, fairly skinny, and fair skin. Wears glasses, and has pretty bad acne problems. Wears standard blue jeans, and an assortment of T-shirts, normally being forest green. Also wears black and grey Velcro shoes.

Personality: Loves making things seem more exciting than they really are. Is geeky, and is perfectly capable of taking apart anything technology related and putting it back together again. Is fairly absent-minded, and is a bookworm as well. He enjoys helping people in any way he can, and has a bit of a laid-back personality. But in really depressing moments, another side of him is revealed, being quite a way into the pessimistic side, and having a bit of a temper.

Preferred Starter Pokemon: Treecko

Other: BLANK!!

Rival

Name: Dusza Koning
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Straight, but his antisocial behavior gets in the way.

Appearance: Has black hair, swept to his left, palish skin, and dark purple eyes. Wears a black jacket with a dark purple T-shirt underneath. Has dark purple gloves with an arcane symbol on them, and black boots.

Personality: Doesn't really like conversing with others, although he is charismatic and has quite a way with words. Tends to stay in the shadows, and prefers to act behind the scenes than in the front lines. Is quite calm, and rarely lashes out at people, if at all. Also considers death as a plaything, to be toyed with and used to his advantage.

Preferred Starter Pokemon: Torchic

Other: BLANKITY BLANK!!

Team Magma Grunt

Name: Vlad Danell
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Schtrayt.

Appearance: Besides his standard Team Magma outift, he has tanned skin, grey eyes, and dark brown hair going down his sides.

Personality: If there was one word to describe him, it would be pyromaniac. He loves burning things, using fire to his advantage, and loves to watch his enemies burn in consuming flames.

Pokemon: Torkoal, Mightyena, and Ninjask.

Other: BLANKITY BLANK BLANK!

I'll finish the rest in the morning but I've gotta go now :/

Main Character

Name: Luke Warm

Age: 13

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Straight

Appearance: With chocolate coloured hair, eyes the same colour and a pretty ripped body, Italian blood had done Luke well. Too bad his name pretty much ruined everything. Luke usually wears a white t-shirt, grey hoodie, baggy jeans and black trainers. He also carries an electric green rucksack to carry his essentials.

Personality: Easily pissed off, especially by his cousin Evan. Wishes he had experience with girls, but since he doesn't, falls head over heels in love with every pretty girl he sees. Yes, that includes Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny. Other than that, relatively smart and doesn't get on well with retards. Too bad he'll be travelling with one of them in the future...

Preferred Starter Pokemon: Mudkip

Other: This is before he travels with a boy named Jimmy Ketchup in his homeregion of Johto.

Rival

Name: Evan 'Almost hotter than a chicken' Kiev

Age: 13

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Straight

Appearance: The biggest douche known to man came in the form of floppy blonde hair that Evan loved to flick and swish in front of girls and look like a complete retard, sea-green eyes that always glazed over when a conversation topic wasn't about Evan, and a perfect face and body that Arceus had put all his hard work into, leaving not much effort for a pea-sized brain and a shitty personality. Evan usually wears some sort of Hawaiin shirt, board shorts, flip flops and his sunglasses, even when it's cold or he's indoors.

Personality: A vain, stuck up douchebag who can't tell the difference between one and two. Loves to piss off Luke by showing off his experience with girls.

Preferred Starter Pokemon: Mudkip

Other: This is before he travels in Johto.

Team Aqua Grunt

Name: Brooke Nadya

Age: 20

Gender: Female

Sexuality: Straight, but she's all about work and money.

Appearance: Brooke is very small and thin and is one of the rare grunts that doesn't have curly ginger hair, instead she has poker-straight platinum blonde hair. Her eyes are the same colour as the blue in her Team Aqua grunt uniform. She actually likes her uniform, and thinks that the pirate theme is definitely better than Team Magma's devil theme.

Personality: Just like her hair, Brooke is different, stands out and isn't easy to defeat. She only cares about her job and her money, and will sacrifice anything for Team Aqua. Also gets touchy if you talk about her height, generally bringing out her motto; 'The bigger you are, the harder you fall.'

Pokemon: Mightyena, Carvanha, Golbat.

Other: Nope :D

Andrew Owad looked around the town of Littleroot while he was on his way to Birch's lab. He had always liked this place. Not too big and bustling, but it didn't cut itself off from technological advancements. He liked that. After a bit of walking, he managed to locate the laboratory. The doors opened when he stood in front of them, and he strolled in, gazing at the machinery inside.

"So you must be a new trainer!"

A voice cut off his daydreaming, and he found a man in a lab coat hurrying toward him. "I'm Professor Birch. I heard that some new trainers were going to show up, so here I am!" he said, obviously excited. "So what's your name?"

Andrew straightened up a bit. "My name's Andrew Owad. And you'd be right, I am interested in getting a Pokemon of my own. Really fascinating machines you've got here, Professor."

"Nice to meet you, Andrew. And they are, aren't they? Over here would be more than likely the reason you've come here..." Birch said, walking toward a table containing three Poke Balls, and Andrew followed him.

"Take your pick."

Andrew looked over the tags attached to the Poke Balls, considering each available choice. "Hmm..." he mumbled, before deciding. He picked up the one on the left, showing it to Birch. "I think I'll have this one. That okay?"

"Not a problem, not a problem at all!" Birch said enthusiastically. "I think Treecko would be a good fit for you."

Andrew grinned. "Thanks. I'll make sure to visit every once and a while," he said, starting to walk out of the laboratory...

OOC: Cue Luke barging into the laboratory.

((OOC: Not quite...))

"Heeeeelllloooooo everybody!" A boy with floppy blonde hair that kept falling into his sea-green eyes, burst into the lab, smashing Andrew behind the lab door, the wind from outside causing his Hawaiin shirt to flutter in the breeze along with the sound of...girls cheering?

"Go Evan! Go Evan! He's our guy! If he loses, then we'll cry! Go Evan! Go Evan! He's our man! If he can't do it, no one can!" At least ten girls skipped through the door, cheering as they waved their pom-poms around, Evan smirking with satisfaction at Professor Birch.

"So, Professor. Which Pokemon have you got for me, the amazing, the wonder ful, Evan Kiev!" Evan asked, his eyes closed, whilst the girls swooned right on cue.

"Um-" Professor Birch scratched his head. "Who?"

Evan's eyes snapped open, his mouth opening wide to tell this Professor who did he think he was, not knowing who the great Evan-

"Professor! Profes-SSSSSSOOOOOORRRRRR!!!!!!" A voice yelled from outside. Everybody turned around to see a tall boy with dark brown hair and eyes of the same colour sprinting towards the lab, his electric green rucksack jumping up and down on his shoulder.

"Professor-" The boy gasped, panting heavily as he bent over to catch his breath.

"Yes, what is it? What's wrong?!" Professor Birch asked, alarmed by the urgency in this boy's voice. Finally, the boy straightened up and began to speak.

"DON'T LET MY COUSIN EVAN KIEV-HEAD HAVE THE MUDKIP!!!" Luke exploded, pushing his way past Professor Birch and Evan, before grabbing the baby Mudkip that was innocently eating its food on the floor, everybody watching him with their mouths wide open, speechless. That was, until Evan spoke.

"What?! Professor! I was here first!" Evan whined, giving evils to Luke before turning to Professor Birch and doing the same.

"Too bad!" Luke snapped, momentarily looking up to smirk at his cousin victoriosuly before soothing the little Mudkip who was not crying because it was scared, but because Luke had removed it from its food.

"Professor? Now what do I get?!" Evan whined once again.

Andrew had the door slammed right in his face by Evan, and screamed out in agony. He shot a furious look at him. "'Ey, watch where you're walking! Wait, I shouldn't even be talking to you. Odds are what I'm saying wouldn't fit in your brain, it's so small."

But Evan wasn't even listening to Andrew, he was still busy whining to Professor Birch.

"Professor Birch!" Evan exploded. "What-do-you-have-left-for-me?!"

"Um, um, well, um..." Professor Birch answered as he looked around anxiously, before quickly picking up the baby Treecko and shoving it in Evan's face. "This Treecko!"

"A Treecko?!" Evan spat. "Forget it, I'm outta here." Evan replied sulkily, his cheerleaders whimpering and a few even crying for the mere fact that Evan hadn't gotten a Pokemon, before stomping out the door. But just before he left, he stopped and turned to Luke.

"I'm not gonna forget this, Lukewarm!" Evan yelled angrily, before slamming the door shut. There was the sound of girls awwww-ing and cheering, before the sound of a car engine revving, and then finally, silence.

"Wow, thanks Professor Birch!" Luke grinned, before noticing Andrew. "Hey, you okay, man? What happened?"

"The idiot slammed the door right in my face, that's what happened!" Andrew shouted, really irritated at the guy. "Name's Andrew. I was here to get a Pokemon, kinda like you. I got a Treecko. I've always liked grass-types, myself."

The doors opened again, and Andrew whipped his head toward it, half expecting it to be Evan again. Instead, another figure walked in. One who didn't look anything like Evan. However, Andrew actually recognized him. It was Dusza Koning. Was it just him, or did the air suddenly chill? Dusza walked up to Birch...was the professor...frightened? "So, which one have you come here for, Dusza?" Birch said uncertainly. Dusza gave a look at each of the Poke Balls, before picking up the one that held Torchic. Dusza nodded, and walked off, not even bothering to give a glance at Andrew.

"Dusza Koning," Andrew said bitterly. "Not a nice guy."

"Pfft. At least he isn't a douche, unlike my favourite cousin, Evan." Luke rolled his eyes. "Oh, I'm Luke, by the way. I'm originally from New Bark Town in the Johto region. What about you?" Luke asked, as he tried to soothe his Mudkip by petting it, but it wailed even more because it wanted to eat its food.

"Douche can't describe him. The guy can be evil. E-vil. He's made me fall into enough traumatizing situations, I'm surprised I'm not in a mental hospital right now," he said, clearly not in the best of spirits. "I'm from Twinleaf, myself. Sorta like this place, although my home region does have quite the mythologies surrounding it."

He then noticed the Mudkip's wailing. "Here, just a sec," he said, digging into the backpack he had carried with him, before taking out a canister of Pokemon food. He opened it, scooped out a handful, and gave it to the Pokemon, hoping to calm it down.

Mudkip immediately stopped wailing the second Andrew opened the can of Pokemon food, the two dots above its mouth also known as its nose moving up and down as it sniffed the air, before its mouth dropped open altogether when Andrew gave it the food. It stared at the food, before digging into it happily.

"Wow, thanks, dude. That's so cool." Luke said, starind dumbfounded at the Mudkip as if he had discovered it for the first time.

Andrew gave a wry smile. "I like to think I work well with these guys. I always keep a can of that stuff, just in case," he said, looking around the laboratory. "What, are we going to chat until the sun rises again? There's a reason we got those Pokemon, ya know!" he said, walking toward the doors.

"Uh, okay..." Luke replied as he watched Andrew leave, before turning to Professor Birch.

"Thanks again, Professor!" Luke yelled, before picking up his Mudkip and running out of the lab and into the morning sun. Once he was outside, he placed Mudkip on the ground so it could walk beside him.

"So, Mudkip. It's you and me, on my first Pokemon journey! But...you can't be my travelling buddy if you don't have a nickname, so..." Luke paused to think of a name. "I know! I'll call you Axel! A tough name to suit a..." Luke was cut off by the sound of his newly named Mudkip crying once again.

"Maybe a not so tough Pokemon." Luke sighed as he bent down to pick Axel up and shush it. "Come on, Axel, what's wrong? Are you hungry again?" Axel whimpered and nodded in reply. "But you just ate!" Luke protested, but Axel just responded by leaping out of his arms and into his rucksack, burrowing around until it found food.

"Axel!" Luke yelled when he saw the Mudkip chomping on the food. "That was meant to last us a few days!" The mud fish Pokemon replied by burping up the smell of the food that was now gone.

"Oh well. We can always stop and get food supplies, I guess." Luke sighed as the duo walked forwards.

Andrew decided to release his Treecko, to give it an idea of what to expect. When he tossed the Poke Ball into the air, the capsule opened, and a white beam was released from it, turning into a Pokemon's shape, and it flooded with color, releasing the Treecko he had acquired. The Treecko blinked once, then twice, then gave Andrew a calm, yet analyzing look.

"It's alright. I'm not gonna hurt you or anything," Andrew said. "How about we name you Kaizer?" he proposed, and the Treecko enthusiastically nodded its head.

Andrew then noticed Luke running off, and Andrew started following him. "May as well tag along with you. I'd like an excuse to sock that Evan right in the face, anyway," Andrew said once within speaking distance. He sniffed a couple times. "Do I smell food?"

"Yes." Luke sighed. "Yes, you do smell food. Axel just ate my food supply just seconds ago. And yeah, it'll be cool if we travel together. Then I'd have more help when taking Evan in a fight if I ever see him again. Which I really hope I don't." Luke shuddered at the thought of running into Evan and his overrated cheerleaders.

Meanwhile, Axel had walked over to Kaizer and had held out one of its hands for the Treecko to shake.

"And I hope to Arceus that we don't run into Dusza. He may be anti-social, but he's a masterminding sadist, among others. Don't trust him for even a second," Andrew said. "Well, let's head off."

Kaizer, however, crossed his arms and gave Axel a cold stare through narrowed eyes. He then shook his head, and ran off to follow his trainer.

Axel's forehead crinkled in confusion as it watched Kaizer rush off after its cold rejection.

"Hey, what's wrong, buddy?!" Luke asked as he crouched down to Axel's level to peer at him curiously as Axel narrowed its eyes at Kaizer, before turning to Luke and chirping its name happily.

"Well, okay, if you're alright, we may as well head off then. C'mon, let's catch up with Andrew and Kaizer. We don't wanna get left behind!" Luke grinned as the pair jogged after the Treecko and its trainer.

OOC: Used a RNG to determine which Pokemon I'd run into, based off of the actual Emerald encounter rates for Route 101. And the result is...

Suddenly, a jagged-looking figure rushed out at Andrew, attempting to growl menacingly. Andrew was completely startled by the sudden rush of the Zigzagoon. "Well, that was unexpected. Let's have our first battle, in that case!" Andrew said, suddenly getting energetic and somewhat hyper.

"Kaizer! Pound that thing into the dirt!"

The Treecko rushed at the Zigzagoon, and before it could react, Kaiser dealt a smack to the jaw with its tail, doing a fancy backflip afterward, landing in front of a nearby tree. The Zigzagoon retaliated by charging at the Treecko, but Kaiser simply smirked and moved a bit to the side, and Zigzagoon went right past him and slammed right into the tree, unable to move in a straight line.

"Kaiser, Pound again!"

Kaiser then simply spun around once, smacking the Zigzagoon again, and knocking it unconscious. It then leaped back to Andrew.

"Nice job. You really like jumping around a lot, dont'cha?" Andrew said, and Treecko gave a smile and nodded.
