(If you don't know about it, you can veiw the article on PPN.)
Now i don't know about you guys, but it's really pissing me off that Nintendo, or ayone for that matter, thinks if someone uses an AR once, that they put hacked/modded/glitched pokemon on the GTS.

I find this highly unreasonable, as multiple people only use AR once to do minor things in-game. 1-10, I'd say my game is 4 AR-ed. I use LEGIT pokemon in online battling, and the only thing "fake" about the pokemon i put on the GTS is maybe the masterballs they hold. Big deal, 1 masterball, it's not like imtrading masterball-holding pokemon to the same guy 99 times.

I've seen codes posted on kodewerx that do minor things such as allowing one to battle spiritomb without talking to 32 people in the underground. And as far as i'm concerned, nintendo making people go through all of that just to get one non-legendary pokemon should be called cheating.

Basically what i'm trying to say is: why not just ban glitched pokemon instead of actual ar using players? This would force them to use legit pokemon and maybe break free of cheating. So flame/rant away, or just throw your opinion in here, because i know i'm not alone.

Nintendo wants their games played a certain way. That way excludes cheating of any kind; so they have the right to ban anyone who has cheated.

Sure it seems to make sense to just go after those who battle or trade hacked pokemon, but hacked items are just as bad. Cheating is a slippery slope. If they allow some forms of cheating and don't allow others, where would it end? So items are okay, but pokemon are not? Or is it just getting event pokemon that is okay? The simplest way to deal with it is just to cut it all off, and I agree with that. I'm sure there are ways around it anyway.

So I guess you'll have to suck it up and play without cheats, or to use one game cartridge for it and another for actual battling and trading. If the rumor is true I'm happy, because I'm tired of this Action Replay crap already. Every online game is ruined by stuff like this, and if Nintendo can end it all the more power to them.

If you read the article, the rumor apparently only applies to three codes: all National Dex data, all Pokémon, and all shinies. Not individual Pokémon or items.

I for one am sick of it too...The AR users make all the deals, and when there is a deal like "Shiny Dialga for Lv.90 Bellsprout", by the time I'm done drugging up my Bellsprout with Rare Candies, an AR user has already claimed the Dialga with a freshly caught-at-90 Bellsprout...and if I was to put a Pokémon up, I would probably just get an AR Pokémon in return.

I know all this because my brother has Diamond, for those of you who I've told I'm not getting Pearl until Christmas.

Notice, Nintendo's rumored rules don't do any harm to someones battle or game except protects nintendo's events... The GTS is wrong yes, but don't trade there. Unlocking the national dex, getting shinys and activating the events does nothing to make the game unfair. I will only complain if there pokemon stats are illegal. Something like 800hp for lucario....

Wait, how can you tell if you have Action replayed pokemon? Someone gave me a Mew for a graduation present, so does this mean that Nintendo will ban me if that is an AR pokemon?

I just freak out about rule-breaking, so I'm probably over-reacting.

An Action Replay is a hacking device, like Gameshark or Codebreaker. Hackers can be devastating on an online RPG game. My brother actually told me that someone hacked Runescape (an MMORPG) and started killing players.

Cheating is bad!! Anyone who uses cheating devices should be locked up and kicked in the b!@#s.

It depends on the seriousness of the "crime" though. Cheating to win is obviously not tolerable. Cheating to get legendaries isn't as terrible though.

But even my AR team gets it's ass handed to it every time i battle...

Wow, and just right after the Xbox360 banning incident. I do think it is a little unfair to ban the games, rather than the individual Pokemon, but I guess it's simply easier- and will scare more people away from AR. (Or convince more people to buy two copies of the game, perhaps? :p Win/Win for Nintendo there.)

I wouldn't be surprised if an AR code to unban you came up at some point.

All modded consoles were banned from using Xbox Live (even Silver) a few weeks back. Similar to how original modded Xbox consoles were kicked from Xbox Live for doing the same thing.

Funny how people got their systems banned even when their modchips were supposedly going to be invisible.

A lot of people are probably going to end up buying a banned used console, I hope the ban is at least reversible in Pokémon D/P by starting a new file, otherwise we're going to get a lot of unhappy secondhand customers there, too.

For what I've read, you can access again to WiFi by getting your FC deleted and getting a new one.

I don't see the point in banning those concrete codes. Htf does a full-dex AR code damage the GTS? Shinies... ok, then again they've become more common thanks to the radar, but the dex?

GTS is just sick. They should have thought a little more on the system and what could happen with millions of fanboys asking for pretty much every stupid thing you could imagine.

Don't think they can detect PokeSAV game mods though, as far as you act within the metagame.

Oh, well, that's pretty easy to bypass then. :/

I guess Nintendo realizes this isn't going to do a lot in terms of keeping cheaters away, but this is probably an attempt to scare people off from using them too much in the future.

I know what AR is, but someone gave me a Mew...oh well, someone's trading me a legit Mew, so I'll just trade the other away so I don't have to worry about whether or not it's been sharked/etc.
