I love Mystery Science Theater 3000. A lot. It's one of the funniest shows ever produced and is a big influence on my style of snarkiness.

Okay, for people who haven't watched it - Mystery Science Theater 3000 is about a relaxed everyman named Joel who's launched into space and trapped on a satellite by two mad scientists, who subject him to horrible B-movies as part of an experiment to find a movie so horrible they can use it as a weapon to take over the world. Naturally, he decides to take it in stride and creates some robot friends - Tom Servo, a gumball machine with a bit of an ego with a bit of a temper; Gypsy, a strange purple snake-like robot with one eye who keeps the satellite running; Cambot, who films the theater and host segments; and Crow T. Robot, a skinny gold robot with a split bowling pin for a mouth and an immature and wacky personality. Crow, Joel and Tom watch the movies and crack jokes while they watch them. Later, Joel is replaced by Mike, a more irritable and somewhat sillier character.

There's a revival coming up this year, but none of the actors from the old show are in it (Joel's producing it, so at least he's still involved) and they're focusing a bit too much on celebrity actors (Patton Oswalt, Jonah Ray and Felicia Day), so I'm not really hyped for it.

Anyway, the series aired from 1988 to 1997, and featured "classics" such as Manos: the Hands of Fate (one of the most infamous bad movies ever), The Pumaman (an Italian Superman rip-off with a protagonist whinier than Shinji Ikari), Hobgoblins (A god-awful Gremlins rip-off), The Pod People (which has nothing to do with bodysnatchers), Monster-A-Go-Go (with a ridiculous mind screw ending), Invasion of the The Eye Creatures (they just didn't care), the Mexican Santa Claus movie (Santa Claus faces off with a wimpy demon), Earth vs. the Spider (you might know the movie from a clip in Lilo and Stitch), Waerwelf Wurrwilf Werewolf (with Charlie Sheen's uncle in a minor role), The Incredibly Strange Creatures who Stopped Living and Became Mixed-Up Zombies (Just as ludicrous as the name implies), Prince of Space (An early tokusatsu film), Space Mutiny (starring Reb Brown), Invasion of the Neptune Men (A film that heavily abuses stock footage), Merlin's Shop of Mystical Wonders (a "family" film that's filled with good old fashioned nightmare fuel), and more!
