Do you like any of these shows? I watch FG and AD now and then, mostly when there's nothing else on at night. Generally, I like them but I don't think they've done much that I find very funny time after time. So I'm not a huge fan, but whatever.

I've probably seen every episode of FG and Cleveland at some point. I think FG is one of the funniest shows on tv. I know it's crass and often offensive, I can see why people don't like but I find it less offensive than South Park which is generally loved by the people who hate FG. I don't really get the criticism in that way. I watch shows like The Simpsons and even South Park because despite obviously making me laugh, there's a sense of story telling and in the case of The Simpsons, a real feel-good family element. Obviously that can't ever be said about the things Seth Macfarlane produces but in fairness to him, I don't think he's trying to make people feel that way. He's writing cheap jokes and getting cheap laughs, I don't see a big problem with that.

I can't really speak for AD. I've maybe seen 4-5 full episodes in my life. I catch it on the tv in the background quite a lot and although it looks like it has some good jokes the characters are pretty meh in comparison to FG. As far as Clevenland goes, I didn't think much of it. It had some funny moments but I certainy wasn't upset when it was cancelled. I think I would be if FG was (again :p)

My take on Seth? He's funny and has a sexy voice.

American Dad is easily the best MacFarlane show. It still manages to be funny unlike Family Guy, and it handles politics better than Family Guy due to its main character being a parody of a conservative instead of an obviously liberal talking dog Creator Sue.

I watch Family Guy. Mostly on [adult swim] but sometimes I watch the new episodes on Fox. I shouldn't say that I'm a fan of the show but I like it.

I liked the Cleveland Show the best out of the three. Not really into Family Guy and American Dad anymore so I haven't watched any Mcfarlane shows in a long while.

I do watch the 3 shows - easily for me Family Guy has to be funnier, I watched the longest.
I enjoy the jokes and puns a bit more with FG than the other 2, and many of the stories/episodes are funny (to me they are).

Only a couple of times have I watched either. However, there was one show that was a hilarious piece of diamond. When Peter Griffin established Petoria and invaded the rest of Quahog, and the US Military surrounded Petoria. I don't know just how much of a social commentary (on War on Terrorism) this was intended to be, but it felt like a well done satire to me.

Family Guy used to be really funny. But it got hit hard with Seasonal Rot. So now I like American Dad the most. Funny, because a few years ago I hated the show, but as I matured I got the reason why the show is so funny.

I like FG a lot, but i love AD! I have every season on DVD released so far as well as the (modestly titled) Seth MacFarlane's Cavalcade of Cartoon Comedy (props for Wil Wheaton cameo).

At first it was because the political humour in AD appealed to that side of me, but as the show evolved i appreciate Roger's multi-personality insanity and the whole thing of this family staying together despite every episode someone fucks over someone else.

FG was great and is still good, but it has a certain unpleasant reputation as outlined in South Park. Firstly for satirising ANYTHING and EVERYTHING, much like South Park does. While i appreciate that, it causes a backlash. Also it's seen by critics as 'cheap' laughs with no real story content, and i don't feel that's true. There are story elements, some of which completely change the following episodes (like when Peter lost his job and had to get a new one), but the cutaway gags aren't cheap. They're random. Some people don't like that - fair enough, but i object to the mislabelling because it doesn't describe the intent behind the jokes.

The pressure behind making so many episodes is really hurting FG now. The thing about killing off Brian for ... who knows what purpose. Shock value? Ratings grab? I think they need to stop now. Maybe with an option to make more in the future, but not force more being mass-produced.

I hate Family Guy with a flaming passion, mostly due to the unfunny cutaway gags (South Park was right on the money when they pointed this out), the offensive jokes, Brian being an obnoxiously liberal Creator's Pet, and the fact that it's becoming worse every season. I dislike The Cleveland Show too, but at least it's better than Family Guy.

While I'm not that big on American Dad, it's not as bad as MacFarlane's other shows and I will watch it occasionally. I think the writing's a lot better and I like that there aren't as many offensive jokes.

I have seen The Cleveland Show (on Eleven) which is ok, but I might check out American Dad.

American Dad is my favourite of the three. I laughed maybe twice during the four seasons of the Cleveland Show and Family Guy was only somewhat funny during around season 3 until season 7, after that the show turned into pure unfunny crap, specially the last three seasons.

While American Dad is becoming less funnier with each season, it's still somewhat funny. I love the first four seasons of American Dad though, those are really awesome.

Family Guy is too all over the place for me to really enjoy. I don't find the jokes funny, and lately it's relied on some poorly-executed gross-out humor. I'm not saying South Park handles the gross stuff better (it doesn't), but out of the two, South Park has better social commentary and more relate-able plotlines.

For me, out of the three I pick American Dad. It handles the family dynamic better than Family Guy does (although as far as family dynamics go, Cleveland Show had the best of the three, though it lacked much else) and the stories seem more down to earth. Yes, it has its moments of shoddy writing, and I can't for the life of me decide if I like Roger or not, but on the whole, it's better than Family Guy.

I'm tempted to yell this if I ever do see "Phantom".

I used to watch family guy.. and similar to many other TV shows it seems that after a certain number of seasons the writers begin to run out of ideas resulting in the episodes appearing cheap, humorless, and uninspired. At that point they're just burying the legacy of the show by continuing to air new episodes.

I think that Family Guy is a cartoon that appeals to a specific audience. The show can be very offensive so if you're easily offended it's certainly not for you, and the jokes can be very random, almost as if they were generated by manatees collecting "idea balls." xD

I find American Dad to be really good compared to Family Guy and American Dad, since it's not really grotesque. Although, The Cleveland Show seems more funnier than Family Guy, since it's not cringeworthy.
